I rely upon the measure of your great goodness — to ask for pardon and forgiveness for not having written until now. For I am ill and suffer harsh and bitter pains and sufferings — not upon you. May Hashem have mercy and say to our troubles: "Enough."

The contribution of one hundred liras — I received it in preparation for the Passover holiday that has passed — I received it on the 13th of Nissan 5731. Also the contribution of two hundred and fifty liras — that you sent me through my son-in-law Chaim — I received in its appointed time and season. This contribution I gave to charity on your behalf — and I prayed to Hashem Yisburach that He make your way successful — as you went with self-sacrifice for the benefit of Israel.

May Hashem recompense your good deed — healthy life — new life forever. Blessed is the Beneficent — Who bestows good kindnesses. Blessed is the Good and the Beneficent. Blessed is the Healer of the sick. I bless Hashem — that He preserved your soul in life and did not allow your foot to slip.

Hashem knows hidden things — He knows how much and how much I share in your pain. And the prayers and the weeping from the very depths of the heart that I pour out over you before Hashem — that He have compassion and mercy upon you and upon His people Israel. And may He send His word and heal you and restore you completely — for a long good life — a true life of holy faith and complete teshuvah. Through the power and the merit of the truly genuine Tzadikim — the singular ones of the generations.
