Letter 296

I will recall the kindnesses of Hashem — for all the good and the kindness that He has bestowed upon us. Through His abundant mercies — He has added years of life to my mother — through a wondrous miracle. (So through His mercies may He save us.) And blessed be Hashem — her condition is going and improving. So through His mercies may He save her — and complete her healing from Heaven in perfection — for a length of days.

She is still in the hospital for several days — and all the children from Tel Aviv and Tiberius visit [me] her almost every day with the joy of their hearts.

My dear son — give praise and thanks to Hashem Yisburach — Who until now His mercies have helped us. And his love is engraved in my heart — and I cannot forget him at all. We were very pained that you made such a great effort that is beyond your strength. Now my mother — and also I — request from you: do not send us money — until Hashem has mercy and blesses you — and widens your border. And may the candle of your success ascend higher and higher — in body and soul.
