Rabbainu — may his memory be for a blessing — said: "I have nothing at all to do in this world. For for my own sake I need not do anything at all. Only I have come into the world to bring the souls of Israel close to Hashem Yisburach!"

…Who has aroused his spirit and dedicated his broad heart and his blessed abilities — to magnify and to publicize the name of the true and only Tzadik in the world. Who is elevated above and above all the truly genuine and most select Tzadikim — the singular ones of the generations. Who is a shelter and a shield for us even now — even within all kinds of darknesses and distancing of each and every one — in these our days — in the latter times.

Fortunate are you, my brother — fortunate are you a thousandfold. For the inwardness of your heart understands and feels the truly, truly true truth — that now illuminates in the world! Because of the great multitude of the fatigue of the soul — from the troubles and the afflictions that have surrounded me — I have no mind and I have no words within me. But for the sake of the immensity of the pleasantness of your love — engraved in the very depths of my heart — I could not restrain myself from doing my duty. And I have written with all my strength.

Hashem knows and is witness — and your heart too sees and feels — that your soul is bound to my soul always — every day. Especially at the time of hisbodidus and of the conversation with Hashem Yisburach. For I know and I know — that it is rooted in the inwardness of your heart — the point of holy faith in Hashem and in His Torah and in the true Tzadik — the most select of the most select Tzadikim. In whose springs of the wisdom of His Torah — He illuminates within us true and genuinely true faith. For this faith is the root and source of wisdom — through which one comes to conceptions of G-dliness — to see eye to eye His G-dliness and His kingship and His dominion. The adversary always lies in ambush for the person. And the essential thing, etc. — therefore I am turning to you from the very depths of my heart — to set you upon the holy obligation resting upon you. To think deep thoughts — to overcome yourself and to strive with a very strong will — to contemplate his holy books every single day. To see the most awesome new lights within them. Until the good fragrances within them enter your heart — for fulfillment and for deed. For this, this is the essential thing and the purpose. For the adversary always lies in ambush for the person — and especially for his end and his conclusion. Because the older a person grows — the more he must draw close to his root and his repair. And therefore the war of the evil inclination intensifies against him even more. And it is impossible to leap and to jump over the Gehennom that is this world — except through the power of the true Tzadik and his holy books and his very deep and very sincere and very simple counsels — for every single person. Who binds his soul to Hashem Yisburach like a seal upon his heart. As Rabbainu — may the memory of the righteous be for a blessing — said — in this language — as mentioned above.
