In this great bitter darkness of our times — which is the end of the last exile — in which the Sitra Achra and the adversary have greatly overpowered — the essential exile is only because one leans upon nature, Heaven forbid. And then it is the aspect of night and darkness — the aspect of the withdrawal of the light. For the essential light is the light of Hashem Yisburach — namely when one knows that everything is conducted through His Providence Yisburach — this is the essential light.
