מִקְוֶה
ליקוטי עצות - Likutay Aitzos
א. טְבִילַת מִקְוֶה מוֹשִׁיעַ מִכָּל הַצָּרוֹת חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, וּמְטַהֵר מִכָּל הַטֻּמְאוֹת וּמִכָּל הַחֲטָאִים, כִּי מִקְוֶה מַמְשִׁיךְ דַּעַת וְחֶסֶד עֶלְיוֹן מְאֹד (נו, ז) שַׁבָּת
Immersion in a mikveh saves from all troubles, G-d forbid, and purifies from all impurities and all sins, for the mikveh draws great understanding and supreme kindness (56:7, Shabbat).
ב. עַל־יְדֵי טְבִילַת מִקְוֶה הַפַּרְנָסָה בְּנָקֵל, וְנִתְבַּטֵּל הַמַּחֲלֹקֶת וְהַכַּעַס, וְזוֹכֶה לְשָׁלוֹם וּלְרַחֲמָנוּת וּלְדַעַת גָּדוֹל. וְזוֹכֶה לִרְפוּאָה וּלְחַיִּים וַאֲרִיכוּת יָמִים וּלְעוֹרֵר בְּנֵי אָדָם לַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ (שָׁם)
Through immersion in a mikveh, livelihood comes easily, disputes and anger are nullified, and one merits peace, compassion, and great understanding. They merit healing, life, longevity, and to arouse people to the Blessed Name (ibid.).
ג. מִקְוֶה אֵינָהּ מַזֶּקֶת כְּלָל וְהַדּוֹקְטוֹר שֶׁאוֹמֵר שֶׁמִּקְוֶה מַזֶּקֶת, אֵינוֹ דּוֹקְטוֹר כְּלָל. כִּי כְּשֶׁאֵין הַמַּיִם קָרִים בְּיוֹתֵר אֲזַי אַדְּרַבָּא טְבִילַת הַמִּקְוֶה טוֹבָה מְאֹד לִבְרִיאוּת הַגּוּף, כִּי נִפְתָּחִין נִקְבֵי הַזֵּעָה עַל־יְדֵי זֶה, כַּיָּדוּעַ לְהַדּוֹקְטוֹרִים הַבְּקִיאִים [וְעַיֵּן טִלְטוּל וּנְסִיעוֹת לַדְּרָכִים אוֹת ח מֵעִנְיַן מִקְוֶה] (ח"ב. קכג) מוֹעֲדֵי ה' מִקְרָאֵי קֹדֶשׁ וּבוֹ שַׁבָּת וְרֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ וְכָל הַיָּמִים טוֹבִים. וְכָל סֵדֶר הַזְּמַנִּים שֶׁל כָּל הַשָּׁנָה.
A mikveh does not harm at all, and a doctor who says that a mikveh is harmful is not a doctor at all. For when the water is not excessively cold, on the contrary, immersion in a mikveh is very good for the health of the body, as it opens the pores of sweat, as is known to skilled doctors [see Travel and Journeys, section 8, regarding mikveh] (Part II, 123).
