Yesterday I sent you a letter — and I could not find in hand the non-Jewish man Mohamad Salach the blind one — and I gave it to his brother — and promised him ten paras. Therefore perhaps he did not deliver it to your hand — ask him and receive it from him — for it is a sealed and good letter — and it contains several personal matters. And also I said — in the name of Rabbainu ז"ל and his holy disciple — anew — to give life to our souls. For if we were constant in giving life to our souls through them — it would be of great good for us. For this is a rectification for our souls — to mention them — as is explained in Chayei Moharan — in the story of Reb Yehoshua of Zhirin [ר' יהושע מז'רין — Reb Yehoshua of Zhirin — the town name ז'רין is likely the Ukrainian town Zhirin or a variant spelling; not necessarily Zhitomir; a specific Breslov Chassid in the time of Rabbainu ז"ל whose story is preserved in Chayei Moharan] [A specific story preserved in Chayei Moharan: Rabbainu ז"ל sent a prayer-name-slip — kvitl — to Reb Yehoshua of Zhitomir; the story illustrates how the mere mention of Rabbainu ז"ל's name and the transmission of his words serves as a rectification for the soul; just speaking about Rabbainu ז"ל — lehazkiram — to mention them — is itself a spiritual act of rectification] — that Rabbainu ז"ל sent to him a prayer-name-slip. Words of one who truly loves you, Nussun from Breslov Written Tuesday, Parshas Bamidbar, 5643 (June 1883), from Teverya — the day after Letter 170. Yesterday's letter was given to the brother of the blind coachman. A teaching: the mere mentioning of Rabbainu ז"ל's name is itself a rectification for the soul. Good news — the wife has eased somewhat since yesterday. נ נח נחמ נחמן מאומן Yesterday I sent you a letter — and I could not find in hand the non-Jewish man Mohamad Salach the blind one — and I gave it to his brother — and promised him ten paras.
