This reader has a human interface, but every reader page also has static crawlable text. For any book, use /reader-plain/<book>/full.txt to search the complete work, or /reader-plain/<book>/<part>/<section>/index.txt for one section. This is sitewide and works for all reader teachings, not just this page.

Pettek Nanach Running Commentary on Likutey Moharan

Beginner: There is a sweetening — a spiritual protection — that guards a man from losing his wife, Heaven forbid. This protection comes through the sweetness of Torah. When Torah study is alive with genuine joy and depth, it creates a shield that softens harsh decrees. Rebbe Nachman is teaching that Torah is not just intellectual engagement — it has direct protective power over the home, over life, over the people we love. Deep engagement with Torah, with the tzaddik's Torah especially, guards the precious bonds in one's life. Intermediate: T199: There is a hamtakah (sweetening) in Torah that protects from the punishment of becoming a widower — one's wife not dying prematurely. The sweetness of Torah (metikut sheb'Torah) sweetens strict judgment and guards the marital bond. LM 199.
