Beginner: There are several precious things in the world: the wise man is precious, so is the mighty, the wealthy, and the ruler — each one who has some form of elevation. Rebbe Nachman acknowledges these hierarchies exist and are real. But the deeper teaching is that each of these levels of greatness is precious only insofar as it reflects something divine. The wise man's wisdom comes from above; the mighty man's strength is borrowed from divine power; the wealthy man's riches flow from divine blessing. Recognize the divine source behind every form of human greatness.
