Beginner: Shavuot is a remedy for the lungs. The five lobes of the lungs correspond to the five books of the Torah (Tikkunim 25) — and on Shavuot, when we receive the Torah, we can receive renewed life. The Torah received through the lungs (the breath of speech, "a-merica chamishah chumshei Torah") heals the lungs themselves.
