T281 PNC - Even a Simple Person Can See New and Wondrous Combinations in the Letters

Even a simple person — if he sets himself before a sefer and gazes intently at the letters of the Torah — can see new and wondrous things. By staring at the letters with full attention, the letters begin to shine and combine in the secret of "the letters fly and combine" (Yoma 73b). He will then see fresh combinations he has never seen before, and he can see in the sefer matters the author himself never intended at all. A great person sees this effortlessly — but even a completely simple person, by setting himself and gazing at the letters, can attain it. One caveat: don't make it a test. If you treat it as an experiment to verify, specifically then you may see nothing at all. But the door is open. Even for a simple person.
