אמר השכל – עוד יש לי לבאר לך ענין הזמן ההולך בהיקף על כל האישים בשוה. ומצאנו בו שינויים בחלקיו מטעם הזמן עצמו, פירוש, לא מטעם מעשים שיחודשו בו, אלא מטעם היות העת ההיא. והוא מה שאמר קהלת (ג, א), "לכל זמן ועת לכל חפץ". והלא גם לזה צריך שיהיה שורש הגון ודאי:
