Once I stood before him toward the evening near the time of Mincha prayer. And he was looking through the window in a manner of strong and intense yearning and consuming of the eyes, and he spoke with me about the matter of the day passing and going by quickly. He answered and said: What I have to do in this world (and he said this in a manner of exaggeration — meaning that he has very very much to do in this world that it is impossible to measure) — and behold the day passes and goes by quickly. And he said in German in these words: "Vos ich hob tsu ton in dem olam" [What I have to do in this world].
