And he said: There will yet be a time when one who is a simple upright person will be as great a wonder as the Baal Shem Tov o.b.m.

Heresy [apikorsus] is called a "burden" [masah], as Rashi wrote on [Deuteronomy 1:12]: *"your massa"* — this teaches that there were heretics among them. Therefore when one travels to the *Tzadik* he casts off from himself a great burden, because since he is traveling he already has faith which is the opposite of heresy.[67]

*"They set their mouth against the heavens and their tongue walks through the earth"* [Psalms 73:9]. Because now heresy has spread — the restraint has been removed to speak slander against all the *tzadikim* and against all the G-d-fearing. And this is like someone who sticks out his tongue against the whole world, not caring about the whole world at all.
