שָׁלוֹם לַאֲהוּבִי בְּנִי חֲבִיבִי הָרַבָּנִי וְכוּ' מוֹרֵנוּ הָרַב יִצְחָק שֶׁיִּחְיֶה עִם כָּל יוֹצְאֵי חֲלָצָיו שֶׁיִּחְיוּ.

בָּאתִי לְפֹה קְהִלַּת טְשֶׁעהרִין בִּתְחִלַּת הַלַּיְלָה הַשַּׁיָּכָה לְיוֹם ו' עֶרֶב שַׁבַּת קֹדֶשׁ וָאֶתְחַנַּן, וּמָצָאתִי פֹּה מִכְתָּבוֹ וְהָיָה לִי לְנַחַת גָּדוֹל. בִּפְרָט שֶׁהֵשִׁיב לִי עַל כָּל מַה שֶּׁחָפַצְתִּי, וְאֶתְמוֹל קִבַּלְתִּי עוֹד מִכְתָּבוֹ עִם הַמִּכְתָּב מֵרַבִּי חַיִּים כַּ"ץ, אֲשֶׁר לָזֶה כָּלְתָה נַפְשִׁי. בָּרוּךְ הַשֵּׁם אֲשֶׁר עֲזָרָנוּ עַד כֹּה, וִיקַבֵּל פֹּה אִגֶּרֶת לְרַבִּי חַיִּים הַנַּ"ל, וְגַם לְרַבִּי דָּוִד מָסַרְתִּי אִגֶּרֶת לְשָׁם, וְיִרְאֶה שֶׁיַּגִּיעוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם בִּזְרִיזוּת לְשָׁם. וּכְבָר אַתָּה מֻזְהָר וְעוֹמֵד לְשַׂמֵּחַ נַפְשְׁךָ בְּכָל מַה דְּאֶפְשָׁר, וּבִפְרָט שֶׁאַתָּה רוֹאֶה יְשׁוּעַת ה' בְּכָל עֵת; וְתִזְכֹּר גֹּדֶל הַצַּעַר שֶׁהָיָה לְךָ וּלְכֻלָּנוּ מִבִּנְךָ דָּוִד צְבִי שֶׁיִּחְיֶה, וּמַה גָּדְלוּ חַסְדֵי ה' שֶׁנִּתְרַפֵּא בְּחַסְדּוֹ יִתְבָּרַךְ. רָאוּי לְךָ לָגִיל וְלָשׂוּשׂ בְּחַסְדּוֹ יִתְבָּרַךְ וְכוּ'. וְכֵן בְּכָל הַהַרְחָבוֹת שֶׁאָנוּ רוֹאִין בְּכָל הַצָּרוֹת רַחֲמָנָא לִצְלַן, אֲפִלּוּ בְּצָרוֹת הַנֶּפֶשׁ, אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁאָנוּ בְּעַצְמֵנוּ חַיָּבִים כְּמוֹ שֶׁיּוֹדֵעַ כָּל אֶחָד בְּנַפְשׁוֹ, אַף עַל פִּי כֵן חַסְדּוֹ יִתְבָּרַךְ גָּדוֹל מְאֹד עַד אֵין חֵקֶר וְאֵין מִסְפָּר. וּבְחַסְדּוֹ יִתְבָּרַךְ לֹא יַעַזְבֵנוּ בְּיָדוֹ חַס וְשָׁלוֹם. וְלוּלֵא ה' עֶזְרָתָה לָנוּ כִּמְעַט כִּמְעַט. מַה גָּדְלוּ חַסְדֵי ה' שֶׁעָשָׂה עִמָּנוּ בַּדּוֹר הַזֶּה, עַל יְדֵי הָאִישׁ תְּבוּנוֹת הָאֲמִתִּי שֶׁמַּמְשִׁיךְ תִּקּוּנִים נוֹרָאִים כָּאֵלֶּה עַד שֶׁנַּעֲשִׂים אֲמָרוֹת טְהוֹרוֹת לְהַחֲיוֹת כָּל הַנְּפָשׁוֹת הַנְּפוּלוֹת אֲשֶׁר רַבּוּ כְּמוֹ רַבּוּ בַּדּוֹרוֹת אֵלֶּה; אַךְ אוֹי לָהֶם לְהַחוֹלְקִים וְהַמִּתְנַגְּדִים עַל הָעוֹסֵק בְּתִקּוּן נַפְשֵׁיהֶם בְּכָל עֵת. וְאַף עַל פִּי שֶׁהֵם חוֹלְקִים כְּמוֹ שֶׁחוֹלְקִים וּמִתְלוֹצְצִים כְּמוֹ שֶׁמִּתְלוֹצְצִים, אַף עַל פִּי כֵן הוּא עוֹסֵק בְּתִקּוּנָם מֵרָחוֹק. כִּי הַמַּעְיָן דְּנָפִיק וְכוּ' מַשְׁקֶה וּמַרְוֶה אֶת הָאָרֶץ גַּם בְּמָקוֹם שֶׁהוֹלֵךְ מִתַּחַת לָאָרֶץ בְּמַעֲמַקִּים, כַּמּוּבָן בְּסִפְרוֹ הַקָּדוֹשׁ. וּמַה טּוֹב חֶלְקֵנוּ שֶׁזָּכִינוּ בְּחַסְדּוֹ וִישׁוּעָתוֹ הַנִּפְלָאָה שֶׁאָנוּ זוֹכִים לֵידַע בֶּאֱמֶת מֵהָעוֹסֵק בְּתִקּוּנֵנוּ לָנֶצַח. וּכְבָר דִּבַּרְנוּ בָּזֶה הַרְבֵּה, אַךְ צְרִיכִין לַחֲזֹר זֹאת בְּמַחֲשָׁבָה וּבְדִבּוּר בְּכָל יוֹם לְהוֹדוֹת עַל הֶעָבָר וּלְבַקֵּשׁ עַל לְהַבָּא. וּלְשַׂמֵּחַ אֶת נַפְשׁוֹ בְּכָל עֵת.

דִּבְרֵי אָבִיךָ הַמְצַפֶּה לִישׁוּעָה.
