(יא) בעת חזירתו מנסיעתו הגדולה לנאווריטש בקיץ הנ"ל בא עליו החולאת של ההוסט הקשה (הינו שעול קשה מאד) ואז הזהיר אותנו רבנו זכרונו לברכה מאד להתפלל הרבה עבורו. אבל בעוונותינו הרבים גברו האראלים, ונסתלק אחר שלש שנים מעת שהגיע לו החולאת של ההוסט הנ"ל, ואמר שגם אלו השלשה שנים חי בנס וכו'. ובכל זה יש כמה מעשיות לספר מלבד הנעלם מאתנו בלי שעור:

(11.) On his return from the great journey to Navoritch in the aforementioned summer, the severe cough illness came upon him. And then Rabbainu o.b.m. greatly warned us to pray much for him. But in our many sins the angels prevailed, and he passed on three years after the cough illness came upon him — and he said that even those three years he lived by miracle etc. And in all this there are several events to tell, beyond what is hidden from us without measure.
