(ד) כשכתבתי לפניו זה הספר הקדוש שנשרף על פי פקדתו כנ"ל ענה ואמר בעת שכתבתי לפניו אם היית יודע מה שאתה כותב וכו' השבתי לו בהכנעת הלב בודאי איני יודע כלל השיב אין אתה יודע מה שאין אתה יודע "דיא ווייסט גאהר ניט וואס דיא ווייסט ניט":

(4.) When I copied before him that holy book that was burned on his command as mentioned above, he answered and said at the time when I was copying before him: "If you knew what you are writing..." I answered him with humble heart: "Certainly I do not know at all." He replied: "You do not know what you do not know" [in Yiddish: "dia veist gor nit vos dia veist nit"].
