(טו) יום א' ראש חדש סיון באומין ענה ואמר לי בעת שיצאת עמי לדרך לנסע (הינו בתחלת קיץ זה כשנסעתי עמו לפה) ספרת לי דבר, אחר כך ספר לי רבי נפתלי אותו הדבר אחר כך ספר לי רבי יודל אותו הדבר, ואתה ספרת לי ברמז. ונפלאתי מאד מאד אבל הם ספרו לי בפרוש גם כפי מה שהעולם מדברים נשמע מפיהם גם כן זאת, ענה ואמר עתה נראה, שאלתי אותו אם הדבר היא כמו ענין עתידות כפי משמעות דבריו השיב הן. אחר כך כשיהיה הדבר הזה יהיו יכולים לנקר עיני הפילוסופים (והדבר סתום ואין אתנו יודע עד מה מה זה הדבר שספרנו לו עד נזכה לראות אם ירצה ה'):

(15.) On Sunday, Rosh Chodesh Sivan, in Uman, he answered and said to me: "At the time you went out with me on the road to travel" — meaning at the beginning of this summer when I traveled with him here — "you told me something; afterwards Rabbi Naftali told me that same thing; afterwards Rabbi Yudl told me that same thing. And you told me in allusion. And I was very, very astonished." But [he indicated that] they had told it to him explicitly — and also according to what the world was saying, the same could be heard from their mouths as well. He answered and said: "Now we shall see." I asked him whether the matter was like a matter of future-knowing, according to the implication of his words. He replied [that the matter was beyond ordinary knowledge] and said: "When this matter comes about, the eyes of the philosophers will be able to be put out." [The matter is sealed, and none of us knows what this matter is that we told him — until we merit to see it, if G‑d wills.)
