(לז) וכבר מבאר (לעיל ו) שהיה מקפיד על הגדולים שלא רצו לשים לב על הגזרות שנשמעו על ישראל חס ושלום, ואמרו שבודאי לא יעשה השם יתברך זאת. והוא זכרונו לברכה אמר ששוגים בזה הרבה, כי הלא ראינו כבר שהיו צרות וגזרות על ישראל הרבה, השם יתברך ישמרנו מעתה. והוא זכרונו לברכה היה מתירא מהם מאד, ודבר הרבה מהם ועסק הרבה בכל כחותיו ובמסירת נפש להמתיקם ולבטלם. ורצונו היה חזק שכל אחד מישראל, מכל שכן הגדולים ירבו להתפלל להשם יתברך עליהם כאשר עשו אבותינו מעולם, וכמו שעשה מרדכי כשעמד עליהם המן הרשע ימח שמו, כן אנחנו חיבים בכל דור לצעק מאד להשם יתברך על כל הגזרות הנשמע חס ושלום, וה' הטוב ישמע שועתנו ויבטלם ויהפכם לטובה:
