(י) בעת שנסע מעיר אחת בעת שנפטר שם אחד שהיה מקרב אליו קצת, כי לא היה נוסע אליו לברסלב כלל רק בזלאטיפלע היה מקרב אליו מעט, וזה האיש שנפטר שם באותה העיר הנ"ל הניח שם שם טוב מאד, אז אמר רבנו ז"ל הלא גם מי שנוגע בו אפלו באצבע קטנה אין לשער מעלתו. כי הלא זה האיש לא היה מקרב אלי כל כך כי אם מעט דמעט, כאשר אתם יודעים ומבינים כי לא נסע אלי כלל, אף על פי כן הראיתם גדל השם טוב שהניח אחריו, והכל משבחים ומפארים אותו שהיה זוכר את השם יתברך עד סוף הסתלקותו, ושאר שבחים נאים באמת שספרו עליו, כי אפלו מי שנוגע בי מעט, מה יקרה מעלתו לעולמי עד ולנצח נצחים:
