(לא) ענה ואמר לי ועם זה אין אתה רשאי להחיות את עצמך [בלשון תמה], שיש לך חלק גדול בהספר. הינו בהספר לקוטי מוהר"ן שלו שנדפס אז באותה העת, והאריך בשיחה זאת קצת. ואמר שכל הספר הוא שלי, שאם לא הייתי לא היה הספר בעולם. והסביר לי הדבר שכן הוא שכל הספר נעשה על ידי וכו', ואמר לי מעט אתה יודע מעצם מעלת גדלת הספר וקדשתו, ויותר מזה ראוי לך להאמין בעצם גדלת הספר הזה וכו' וכו' ואמר לי הלא נדפסו אלף ספרים, וכל ספר בא ליד כמה אנשים. הינו שראוי לי להחיות את עצמי שזכיתי לזכות את הרבים בזכות כזה וכו'. גם שלא בפני דבר עם כמה אנשים מאנשי שלומנו שיש לי חלק גדול בהספר "טאקע גאר" [אכן הרבה], ואמר שראוי להם להחזיק לי טובה, כי אם לא הייתי עוסק בזה לא היה נשאר אפלו עלה אחד מספריו:

(31.) He answered and said to me [in astonishment]: "And with this you are not permitted to sustain yourself — that you have a great portion in the book!" Meaning — in his book Likutay Moharan that was printed at that time. And he extended this conversation somewhat. And he said that the entire book is mine — for if not for me the book would not have been in the world. And he explained to me the matter — that the entire book was made through me etc. And he said to me: "Little do you know of the immensity of the virtue, greatness, and holiness of this book! And more than this you should believe in the immense greatness of this book etc."
