(ח) פעם אחת דברנו עמו מענין חרוזים שקורין גראם, ואמר שיש בזה דבר כי כל העולם וכו' ואיני זוכר היטב הלשון שאמר, אם אמר שכל העולם מתנהג בזה או איזה לשון אחר מענין זה. והביא ראיה מפסוק כמו שכתוב בישעיה ה' ויקו למשפט והנה משפח, לצדקה והנה צעקה, לשון נופל על לשון:

Once we spoke with him about rhymes — called gram — and he said there is something in this — for the entire world <span style="color:#b8a060; font-style:italic;" title="הַשְׁמָטָה — גְּרַאם (שצט)"><is conducted according to this></span> etc. And I do not remember well the exact language — whether he said the entire world conducts itself with this, or some other expression on this matter. And he brought proof from the verse as it is written in Isaiah 5: "He hoped for justice but behold there was injustice; for righteousness but behold a cry" — a play of words upon words.
