(א) שמעתי. רבנו זכרונו לברכה היה בחרף אצל המגיד מטירהאוויצע. ועמד אצל הכירה (שקורין ריבע). והמגיד לא היה בביתו ואנשיו עמדו אצלו. ואמר להם רבנו זכרונו לברכה תפרסו בשלום המגיד עבורי, ותגידו לו "ויסב אלקים את העם דרך המדבר ים סוף" (שמות יג), ויסב אלקים, כשדינין חס ושלום מקיפין את האדם דרך המדבר מיוסף, הינו צריכין לדבר מהצדיק הנקרא יוסף. וחמשים עלו פרש רש"י מחמשים, הינו על ידי חמשה מוצאות הפה שהוא הדבור, עלו בני ישראל ממצרים, הינו מכל המצר:
