Acceptance of a fast

"Master of all worlds — behold I stand before You, conditionally, in a voluntary fast for tomorrow — from the break of dawn until after the evening prayer. And if I am unable, or if I do not wish to, when I say 'A Psalm of David — Hashem is my shepherd, I shall not lack,' etc. — I may then eat and there will be no transgression in me whatsoever. But may it be Your will, Hashem my G-d and the G-d of my fathers — that You grant me strength and health, and may I merit to fast tomorrow. And may You receive it with love and with favor — and may You grant me merit to return in complete teshuvah. And may You answer my entreaty and hear my prayer — for You hear the prayer of every mouth. Blessed is the One Who hears prayer."
