...אבל כוח המכריח המפסיק, הוא בחינת בהמה, העדר הדעת; ועיקר המתקתו - על ידי זה בעצמו, שידע האדם על כל פנים שאין לו שום דעת ויעשה עצמו כבהמה. כי עיקר כוחם של המונעים והחולקים, שהם בחינת כוח המכריח, הוא על ידי חכמות של הבל שהכסיל רוצה להתחכם, שנדמים בעינהם כאילו הם חכמים גדולים ויודעים דרכים בעבודת הבורא יתברך, ורוצים בחכמות של שקר למנוע מהצדיק האמת ומדרך האמת. ועל כן, על ידי שנזכה לידע האמת, שאין לנו שום דעת כבהמה, ונבטל עצמנו לגמרי ונכיר שפלותינו באמת, ואז נזכה להכיר גדולת הצדיק האמת ולהתקרב ולהמשיך אליו על ידי כוח המושך.

…But the coercive force that disrupts — is the aspect of the beast — the absence of daas. And the essential sweetening of it — is through this itself: that the person at least know that he has no daas at all — and make himself like a beast. For the essential power of the preventers and the disputers — who are the aspect of the coercive force — is through the wisdoms of vanity — with which the fool wishes to become wise. For they seem in their own eyes as though they are great scholars who know the paths in the service of the Creator Yisburach. And through the false wisdoms they wish to prevent from the true Tzadik and from the path of truth. And therefore — through our meriting to know the truth that we have no daas at all — like a beast — and nullifying ourselves entirely — and truly recognizing our lowliness — then we will merit to recognize the greatness of the true Tzadik — and to draw close and to be drawn to him through the power of attraction.
