Letter 269

[Prayer]

"My Father — the merciful Father — the Father of kindness — have compassion upon me with Your great compassion and Your true graciousness — with the immensity of Your mercy and Your graciousness — with the immensity of Your compassion and Your graciousness. And teach me and guide me — in which way — in which manner — in which merit — in which counsel and stratagem — I too will also merit…" "My Father — the merciful Father — the Father of kindness — save me and help me speedily. And have compassion upon me with Your great compassion and Your true graciousness. And teach me and guide me — in which way — in which manner — in which merit — in which counsel and stratagem — I too will also merit to attain the attainment of Your G-dliness. For this is why I was created — as You know. For I was not created in this lowly world except to pursue this good purpose — to attain the attainment of Your G-dliness Yisburach. Master of the world — You know the immensity of my distance — my distance from the attainment of G-dliness. For not only have I not been careful to fulfill all the words of Your Torah and Your commandments through which one merits to attain You — but I have also done what I have done and blemished what I have blemished and corrupted what I have corrupted. And the evil in Your eyes I have done with willfulness. [And grant me merit] to strive and to draw close specifically to the most lofty great Tzadik — who has the power to descend further and further below — to the most lowly and most distant places from holiness. And to nullify all the klipos and the Sitra Achra that cling even in the heretics and the utter unbelievers. And to take out all the souls that have fallen there — to the very depths of the deepest klipos. And to elevate them to the ultimate ascent."

The true Tzadik is able to descend further and further below — to the very depths of the depths — to the most lowly and most distant places. And to gather the good from all the most distanced ones — and to elevate them to holiness — to the ultimate ascent.

Through the love that exists between the souls of Israel — when each one loves his fellow as himself — through this they are included together in the true Tzadik. Who is the all-encompassing intellect — the most supernal wisdom. Through which is the root of the sweetening of all the contractions and the judgments.

When a person sees that he has crookedness in his heart — especially when he has much crookedness in his heart — then he must make himself like a beast. To entirely remove his daas — as though he has no daas at all. And rely only upon faith — and walk only in sincerity and simplicity alone. And then afterwards he merits to very great daas — and to straighten out the crookedness in his heart.

…Who has given his soul and invested all his strength — to soar and to wing his way within the waters of daas of the true Tzadik. Who has the power to descend further and further below — to the very depths of the depths — to the most lowly and most distant places. And to shatter and to nullify all the klipos and the Sitra Achra that cling (in the depths)… even in the heretics and the utter unbelievers — who have fallen to the very depths of the deepest abysses of the klipos. (And to elevate them to the ultimate ascent) — and to gather the good from all of them. And to take them out from there and to elevate them to holiness — to the ultimate ascent.
