Pray for every single thing, G-d is “good for it.” Prayer is the hishtadlus!

It is necessary to accustom oneself to pray at all times for everything he is lacking; whether it be livelihood, or children, or when he has someone sick Heaven forbid, at home who needs healing etc., for everything his main aitza (advice, remedy) is just to pray to Hashem Yisburach, and to have faith in Hashem Yisburach that He is good to {-for} all, as it is written (Psalms 145:9), “Hashem is good to {-for} all,” that is for all things; whether for healing, or for livelihood, or for anything. When one believes this, certainly his main endeavor (hishtadlus) will be after the Holy One Blessed He, and he will not chase after many schemes, for most of them do not help whatsoever, and the minute minority of them which are helpful, are not known to him and he will not be able to discover them; however, to call out to the Holy One Blessed He, this is good and beneficial for everything in the world, and this can be found always, for He blessed He is always to be found. (Likutay Moharan, Torah 14, Likutay Aitzos, Prayer 25).

The essential matter is faith, which is the aspect of Shabbos — for as long as one has faith, one will surely return to Hashem in truth. Therefore a person must strengthen himself through this very thing — through what the adversarial force and the sitra achra want to do to bring him down, G-d forbid — he should use this very thing to strengthen himself. For the adversarial force schemes against his soul to bring him down at every time — by introducing into his heart that he has damaged and corrupted so greatly that it is now impossible for him to return and rectify such sins and transgressions. Especially as there are people who have truly corrupted very greatly, as they themselves know... Even simple people — called prostakis — and even the wicked, and even the nations of the world, all receive vitality from the Torah. Therefore even one who is a simple person — such as one who cannot learn or who is in a place where he cannot learn — even so he too receives vitality from the Torah. Therefore one must still hold fast to fear of Heaven in every way possible, even at times when one is free from Torah study, and even one who cannot learn — for all receive vitality from the concealed Torah through the great Tzadik who sometimes conducts himself in simplicity.
