תּוֹרָה קעב - שְׁלֵמוּת הַחֶסְרוֹנוֹת

All the deficiencies that a person has — whether children or livelihood or health — all come from the person's own side. For the light of Hashem Yisborach flows upon him constantly. But the person — through his materialism and through his evil deeds — creates a shadow for himself — so that the light of Hashem Yisborach does not reach him. And from this come all his deficiencies. Therefore if a person merits to correct his deeds and attributes and all his materiality — until he merits to nullify himself entirely — until he is in the aspect of nothing [ayin] — that he is not at all of this world — then he creates no shadow. And he merits to receive the light of Hashem Yisborach in completeness — and all his deficiencies are completed. The wise — who are in the aspect of nothing — merit to honour — which is the primary light of Hashem Yisborach. When Hashem Yisborach — and likewise the Tzadik — shows a smiling face — life and goodness come to the world. And in reverse — in reverse — G-d forbid.
