The primary distress and afflictions come only from a lack of da'as — because one does not settle one's mind — that everything is through His providence, may He be blessed — for one's benefit. And through weeping with tears before Hashem Yisborach during the time of distress and afflictions — through this — da'as and providence are drawn. And through this the distress and afflictions are nullified.
