May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — that You have mercy upon us through Your abundant mercies and Your great lovingkindnesses, and have pity and compassion, please, upon me and upon my wretched soul, which thirsts and hungers and yearns to return to You in truth. And help me through Your abundant mercies to return in complete teshuvah before You, for all my sins and iniquities and transgressions; and grant me merit to be among those of whom it is said: he who comes to be purified. And You shall assist me from Heaven to purify me from my iniquities, so that I merit to return in complete and true teshuvah for all my iniquities. O You Who is filled with mercy — have pity upon me through Your abundant mercies, and see my poverty and my lowliness; and for what vanity You created me — for I am now not even counted by the name of a created being at all, and it is as though I still have no existence at all in the world, for it would have been better for me not to have been created, since I have done such evil with my deeds. And therefore I have come before You, Hashem my G‑d, that You help me through the power of Your great Name "Ehyeh" ["I Will Be"] — by which You were called at the time You began to redeem Your children from Egypt to make them Your people and to return them to You from the impurity of Egypt, as You made known to Moshe at the burning bush [seneh], as it is written: "Thus shall you say to the children of Israel: Ehyeh has sent me to you" [Exodus 3:14]. And therefore, through the power of this holy Name, grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to begin to prepare myself so that I have existence in the world — by Your granting me merit through Your abundant mercies to return to You in truth, that I merit to feel the pain of my many sins and iniquities, and to return in complete teshuvah before You. And grant me merit to be among those who are insulted and do not insult back, who hear their shame and do not respond. And to those who curse me, my soul shall be silent. And over all manner of disgraces and insults and affronts that I hear from any person who shames me — I shall be silent and hold my tongue. As it is written: "Be still before Hashem and wait longingly for Him" [Psalms 37:7]. "And I was as a man who hears not, and in whose mouth there are no rebukes. Like a deaf man I do not hear, and like a mute who does not open his mouth" [Psalms 38:14-15]. For in truth I know, Hashem, that all manner of disgraces in the world are not sufficient for me according to the greatness of my many sins — for I am more despised and lowly than all the disgraces in the world that the mouth can speak; for through my many iniquities I have blemished Your great and holy honor, and I have not honored Your great Name, and I have greatly despised my own soul through my iniquities, and I gave strength to the blood in the left chamber of the heart. Therefore it is certainly an obligation upon me to endure great disgraces and bloodshed. Therefore help me, Hashem my G‑d, not to respond to those who shame me and those who despise my soul — so that it be for me as an atonement for all my iniquities.

Hashem my G‑d — my soul knows full well that I am very far from true teshuvah [repentance], for my iniquities have passed over my head and have confused my mind, until I do not know at all how to return to You. And the da'as [knowledge/awareness] has departed from me and my heart has abandoned me, and I walk in the world a wanderer without knowledge and without a heart.

Hashem G‑d — You know my folly and my guilt has not been hidden from You. And now my Father, my Father — O You Who is filled with mercy — what shall I do? I am compelled to seek help. And how shall I seek a remedy and a stratagem and a counsel to escape — to save my soul from the pit? "I lift my eyes to the mountains — from where shall my help come?" [Psalms 121:1]. Help me, help me — be gracious to me, be gracious to me — save me through Your abundant mercies and Your mighty lovingkindnesses, and shine upon me from the abode of Your holiness a spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of holiness and purity — that I merit to sanctify and purify myself in truth, and to return to You in truth in complete teshuvah — and I shall be silent and hold my tongue before those who shame me and those who despise my soul. And may I merit to fulfill the verse: "Be still before Hashem and wait longingly for Him" [Psalms 37:7]. And to endure disgraces and shame and bloodshed for my iniquities, and to accept it all with love.

And grant me merit to be in teshuvah constantly all my days. For who can say: I have made my heart pure, I have cleansed myself from my sin? For You know our heart — for the heart is mingled with much dross and ulterior motives; and even at the hour when I confess and say "I have sinned before You" — even then extraneous thoughts and great ulterior motives come into my heart, until it is impossible for me to speak even a single word as it ought to be in truth. And even to confess my sins — what I have truly sinned and transgressed before You — even this is withheld from me. Therefore grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to be in teshuvah always, that I merit to do teshuvah always upon the previous teshuvah. And may I merit to rectify at every turn the blemish of the first teshuvah — until I merit through Your abundant mercies to a complete teshuvah, the supernal teshuvah [teshuvah ilaah] in true perfection — and then You shall open my heart and my mind to know Your Name; and then shall I know truly that I have not yet begun to do teshuvah according to the intensity of Your greatness and transcendence, which You shall grant me to perceive then. And then shall You grant me merit in truth to do teshuvah upon teshuvah — that I merit to do teshuvah at every turn upon the first perception, for having corporealised [megashaym] the transcendence of Your G‑dliness according to the intensity of Your transcendence that I merit to perceive afterward at every turn — in such a way that I merit to be in teshuvah always all my days, until the day You gather me to You. And grant me merit to the World to Come, to a day that is entirely Shabbos, entirely teshuvah. And grant me merit to slaughter my evil inclination, and may I merit to fulfill the verse: "He who offers a thanksgiving-sacrifice honors Me" [Psalms 50:23] — that I merit to honor You in both worlds, in this world and in the World to Come. And help me to truly flee from honor, and may I merit to diminish my own honor and increase the honor of the Omnipresent, and may You bestow upon me from Your great honor — and grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to the honor of G‑d, that I merit to the honor of holiness for Your sake alone; and not to benefit from honor at all for myself; and not to make use of honor except for Your Name and Your service in truth. And help me that no creature ask or inquire after my honor.

And help me, Hashem my G‑d, to be firm and valiant and strong in Your service always. And do not allow me to fall, G‑d forbid, ever. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your holy spirit from me. And grant me merit to be one who enters and goes forth [ayil v'nafik]. And may I merit to be expert in halachah [Torah law], expert in ratzo [running forward], expert in shov [returning back] — expert in entering, expert in departing. And in every place may I be able to find You, whether in ascent or in descent. As it is written: "If I ascend to the heavens — there You are; and if I make my bed in the netherworld — behold, You are there" [Psalms 139:8]. And may I merit to hold fast to You and to cleave to You always. And may the verse be fulfilled in me: "I am my Beloved's and my Beloved is mine" [Song of Songs 6:3].

Please, Hashem — may Your innards and Your mercies and Your graciousness be stirred upon me, and may my remembrance ascend and come before You for good. And have mercy upon me through Your abundant mercies, and do not leave me and do not abandon me to sink, G‑d forbid, in these low and lowly places to which I have come until now. Do not forsake me, Hashem my G‑d, and do not be far from me. "Let not the deep swallow me, and let not the pit close its mouth over me" [Psalms 69:16]. Be gracious to me and raise me up — and from the dust of my poverty and the intensity of my lowliness, raise me on high. And may the verse be fulfilled: "I Myself will descend with you to Egypt, and I Myself will surely bring you up again" [Genesis 46:4] — and the descent shall be for the ultimate purpose of the ascent. Have pity and compassion upon me; send Your salvation and support me with Your righteous right hand, and sustain me in the intensity of Your compassion. And be with me always, and give me the power and understanding to hold fast to You always, and do not allow me to fall, G‑d forbid, ever. And may the verse be fulfilled: "Though he may fall, he shall not be cast down utterly — for Hashem supports his hand" [Psalms 37:24]. And hasten and speedily redeem us — a redemption of the soul. And bring me out and raise me up from this day and henceforth from all manner of falls and declines and distancing from You that I have suffered until now. "He raises the poor from the dust; from the dunghill He lifts the destitute" [Psalms 113:7]. Have compassion upon the poor and destitute like me. Be gracious to me and raise me up, be gracious to me and raise me up — I have spread my palms to You. "From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart grows faint; lead me to a rock that is higher than I" [Psalms 61:3].

Master of the Universe, Master of the Universe — have pity and compassion upon me, my Father in Heaven, and rebuke those who pursue and cast me down, and say to my troubles: "enough!" and say: "thus far shall you come." And from now have mercy upon me and help me and save me, and begin to raise me higher and higher, swiftly and speedily — and all the descents shall be turned to ascents, and all the distancing shall be turned to drawing near. For You were the One Who began to draw us near through Your mercies, and You began to pour out upon us the abundance of Your holiness and the force of Your compassion — through the true tzadikim of every generation. Therefore it is not fitting for You to abandon us, Hashem our G‑d — may Your innards be stirred toward us. And just as You began to show Your greatness and Your goodness upon us, and You gave us Your holy Torah through Moshe Your prophet, the trusted one of Your house, and You sent us in Your abundant mercies true tzadikim in every generation — through whom the Torah was transmitted to us: from Moshe to Yehoshua [Yehoshua], and from Yehoshua to the elders [z'kainim], and from the elders to the elders and the righteous ones of every generation, until the chain of the transmission of the Torah reached us — and Your mercies have still not been exhausted from us. "I have awakened and I am still with You" [Psalms 139:18]. So too may Your innards be stirred toward us — and help me to truly fulfill all the words of Your Torah with love. Have pity upon us through Your mercies and help me to be truly cleaved to You and to the true tzadikim forever and ever, in this world and in the World to Come. Please, Hashem — through Your abundant mercies, grant me merit that my eyes and my heart and my ears be opened to see and to understand and to hear Your greatness and Your transcendence, and to return to You in truth. And be gracious to me from Yourself — knowledge, understanding, and enlightenment to perceive and attain the ways of teshuvah in truth, and help me to walk in them always. And may I merit to be among the true masters of teshuvah — for Your right hand is outstretched to receive the returning, and You desire teshuvah, and if not now — when? And help me to merit to true teshuvah, to the supernal teshuvah [teshuvah ilaah] — in such a way that I merit that through me the lower point be united with the upper point [n'kudah tachtona biN'kudah ilaah], and that through me the supernal man be rectified and completed to sit upon the throne, and there shall my soul and spirit and divine spark be included from now and forever. And fill the blemish of the moon, and may the light of the moon be as the light of the sun, as it is written: "And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold as the light of the seven days" [Isaiah 30:26]. For Your Kingship rules over all — in the heavens and on earth. And You do great and wondrous things beyond fathoming, and You think thoughts so that none shall be cast away from You. He puts to death and brings to life, brings down to the netherworld and raises up. And You bind and connect and unify two opposites together — the ultimate extreme of the lowest, from the depths of the netherworld, to the height of the highest heavens, to the ultimate extreme of the highest; from the lower point to the upper point — for who can say to You: What are You doing? Therefore may Your mercies reach even me, and bore a tunnel from beneath the Throne of Your glory — O You Who is compassionate toward the poor, Who hears the groaning of the destitute — and help me to truly rouse myself and to return in complete teshuvah before You in truth, and grant me merit to be truly cleaved to the true tzadikim from now and forever. For You do not desire the death of the one who is dead, but rather that he turn from his ways and live. "You reduce man to dust and say: Return, O children of man. Return, Hashem — how long? — and be consoled for Your servants. Bring us back, Hashem, to You, and we shall return; renew our days as of old" [Psalms 90:3,13; Lamentations 5:21].
