לְז' אֲדָר הִילּוּלָא דְּמֹשֶׁה רַבֵּנוּ ע"ה
A prayer of the destitute when he is faint — and before Hashem he pours out his speech [Psalms 102:1].
מָשְׁכֵנִי אַחֲרֶיךָ נָרוּצָה, הֱבִיאֲנִי הַמֶּלֶךְ חֲדָרָיו נָגִילָה וְנִשְׂמְחָה בָּךְ, נַזְכִּירָה דֹדֶיךָ מִיַּיִן מֵישָׁרִים אֲהֵבוּךָ. רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם, רַב חֶסֶד וּמַרְבֶּה לְהֵיטִיב, רַחֵם עָלַי בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים, וְזַכֵּנִי לְהִתְקָרֵב אֵלֶיךָ בֶּאֱמֶת בְּכָל עֵת וְלַעֲבֹד אוֹתְךָ תָמִיד בְּשִׂמְחָה וּבְטוּב לֵבָב מֵרוֹב כֹּל. וְתִשְׁמֹר אוֹתִי בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים, וְתַצִּילֵנִי בְּכָל עֵת מֵרִבּוּי שְׁתִיַּת הַיַּיִן וּשְׁאָר מַשְׁקִים הַמְשַׁכְּרִים, שֶׁלֹּא אֶשְׁתֶּה לְעוֹלָם יוֹתֵר מֵהַמִּדָּה וְלֹא אָבֹא לִידֵי שִׁכְרוּת לְעוֹלָם, כִּי אַתָּה גִּלִּיתָ לָנוּ עֹצֶם רָעַת הַשִּׁכְרוּת הַמַּטְרִיד וּמַעֲבִיר אֶת הָאָדָם מִשְּׁנֵי עוֹלָמוֹת חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, כִּי עַל־יְדֵי שִׁכְרוּת שׁוֹכְחִין אֶת כָּל הָאַזְהָרוֹת שֶׁל מֹשֶׁה רַבֵּנוּ עָלָיו הַשָּׁלוֹם, שֶׁהוּא מְלֻבָּשׁ אֶצְלֵינוּ בְּכָל אֵבֶר וָאֵבֶר אֵצֶל כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל, וּמַזְכִּיר וּמַזְהִיר אֶת כָּל אֵבֶר וְאֵבֶר לִשְׁמֹר וְלַעֲשׂוֹת וּלְקַיֵּם אֶת כָּל הַמִּצְוָה הַשַּׁיָּכָה לְכָל אֵבֶר וָאֵבֶר, שֶׁהֵם רְמַ"ח אֵיבָרִים כְּנֶגֶד רְמַ"ח מִצְוֹת עֲשֵׂה. וְעַל־יְדֵי הַשִּׁכְרוּת חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, שׁוֹכְחִין כָּל אֵלּוּ הָאַזְהָרוֹת, וְכָל הַדְּרָכִים נַעֲשִׂים לְפָנָיו כְּמִישׁוֹר רַחֲמָנָא לִצְלָן, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב, כִּי יִתֵּן בַּכּוֹס עֵינוֹ יִתְהַלֵּךְ בְּמֵישָׁרִים. וְנֶאֱמַר, לְמִי אוֹי לְמִי אֲבוֹי, לְמִי חַכְלִילוּת עֵינָיִם, לַמְאַחֲרִים עַל הַיָּיִן, לַבָּאִים לַחְקוֹר מִמְסָךְ. אַחֲרִיתוֹ כְּנָחָשׁ יִשָּׁךְ וּכְצִפְעֹנִי יַפְרִישׁ. עֵינֶיךָ יִרְאוּ זָרוֹת וְלִבְּךָ יְדַבֵּר תַּהְפֻּכוֹת. וְהָיִיתָ כְּשֹׁכֵב בְּלֶב־יָם וּכְשֹׁכֵב בְּרֹאשׁ חִבֵּל:
Draw me after You and let us run; the King has brought me into His chambers — we shall exult and rejoice in You; we shall recall Your love more than wine; with sincerity do they love You [Song of Songs 1:4]. Master of the Universe — please have mercy upon me and help me and save me: that I merit to guard myself from wine and from all manner of intoxicating drinks; and that I never come to a state of intoxication [shikrut] at all — G‑d forbid; for this is a great and terrible and bitter thing. And save me from going in crooked paths; and from all the wayward turnings that come through intoxication; for the drunkard lies down in the heart of the sea; and like one who lies at the top of a mast [Proverbs 23:34].
מָלֵא רַחֲמִים, אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ כַּמָּה נְפָשׁוֹת נִשְׁקְעוּ בִּיוֵן מְצוּלָה עַל־יְדֵי הַשִׁכְרוּת רַחֲמָנָא לִצְלָן, וְנִטְרְדוּ מִשְּׁנֵי עוֹלָמוֹת עַל־יְדֵי־זֶה. הַצִּילֵנִי מָלֵא רַחֲמִים, שָׁמְרֵנִי בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים, שֶׁלֹּא אָבֹא לְעוֹלָם לִידֵי שִׁכְרוּת כְּלָל, וַאֲפִלּוּ בְּשַׁבָּתוֹת וְיָמִים טוֹבִים וּבִשְׁאָר זְמַנִּים קְדוֹשִׁים, אֲשֶׁר רְצוֹנְךָ שֶׁנְּשַׂמַּח אֶת נַפְשֵׁנוּ עַל־יְדֵי שְׁתִיַּת יַיִן מְעַט. זַכֵּנוּ בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים, שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה לְכַוֵּן אֶת הַמִּדָּה שֶׁלֹּא נִשְׁתֶּה כִּי אִם מְעַט הַמֻּכְרָח כְּפִי רְצוֹנְךָ, כְּדֵי לְרוֹמֵם דַּעְתֵּנוּ וּלְהַרְחִיב שִׂכְלֵנוּ וְלִבֵּנוּ, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב, וְיַיִן יְשַׂמַּח לְבַב אֱנוֹשׁ. בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה עַל־יְדֵי מְעַט הַשְּׁתִיָּה לְהַרְחִיב וּלְהַגְדִּיל הַחֲסָדִים שֶׁדַּעְתֵּנוּ מְלֻבָּשׁ בָּהֶם, שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה עַל־יְדֵי מְעַט הַשְּׁתִיָּה לִהְיוֹת בְּשִׂמְחָה וּבְטוּב לֵבָב בֶּאֱמֶת, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה לְהִתְדַּבֵּק בְּךָ בֶּאֱמֶת עַל־יְדֵי־זֶה, וְלִזְכֹּר עַל־יְדֵי־זֶה יוֹתֵר וְיוֹתֵר אֶת כָּל הָאַזְהָרוֹת בְּכָל אֵבֶר וָאֵבֶר שֶׁמַּזְהִיר אוֹתָנוּ מֹשֶׁה רַבֵּנוּ עָלָיו הַשָּׁלוֹם, וְנִתְעוֹרֵר בְּיוֹתֵר לְקַיֵּם אֶת כָּל הַמִּצְוֹת הַשַּׁיָּכִים לְכָל אֵבֶר וָאֵבֶר. וְתִפְתַּח לִבִּי בְּתוֹרָתֶךָ וְאַחֲרֵי מִצְוֹתֶיךָ תִּרְדֹּף נַפְשִׁי. וְאֶזְכֶּה לְהִתְקָרֵב אֵלֶיךָ יוֹתֵר וְיוֹתֵר עַל־יְדֵי הַשְּׁתִיָּה בִּדְבֵקוּת נִפְלָא וַאֲמִתִּי כִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב, וְאֶהְיֶה מִתְפַּתֶּה בְּיֵינִי בִּקְדֻשָּׁה גְּדוֹלָה לִהְיוֹת כִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב בֶּאֱמֶת, וְיִהְיֶה נִמְשַׁךְ עָלַי הַרְחָבַת הַדַּעַת וְהַחֲסָדִים מִדַּעַת קוֹנִי, וְאֶזְכֶּה לְכַבֵּד אֶת יְהֹוָה בֶּאֱמֶת מֵהוֹנִי וּמִגְּרוֹנִי:
Full of mercy: You know how many souls have sunk in the miry clay [yaven metzulah] through much drinking and intoxication; and how many have abandoned the ways of life through wine. And in particular — the young ones of Israel who have not yet come to holiness: have mercy upon them and rescue them and bring them back speedily to their Father in Heaven; and raise them from below. And help me and save me that I merit to truly honor Hashem from my wealth [Proverbs 3:9] — and from my throat [me'garon]; that I merit to honor Hashem in truth with my money and with my voice — in song and praise; and to use all that I have in the service of G‑d in truth; and to merit to honor Hashem in truth from all my possessions and from my throat.

רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם, אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ, כִּי אַף לְפִי גֹדֶל הַגְּנוּת שֶׁל הַשִּׁכְרוּת בְּלִי שִׁעוּר, אַף־עַל־פִּי־כֵן הַהֶכְרֵחַ לִפְעָמִים לִשְׁתּוֹת מְעַט בִּשְׁבִיל הַרְחָבַת הַדַּעַת, כַּאֲשֶׁר הוֹדִיעוּנוּ חֲכָמֶיךָ הָאֲמִתִּיִּים גֹּדֶל גְּנוּת הַשִּׁכְרוּת דְּסִטְרָא אַחֲרָא, וְגֹדֶל מַעֲלַת הַשְּׁתִיָּה בִּקְדֻשָּׁה לִשְׁמֶךָ, כְּמוֹ שֶׁאָמְרוּ רַבּוֹתֵינוּ זִכְרוֹנָם לִבְרָכָה, זָכָה מְשַׂמְּחוֹ, לֹא זָכָה מְשַׁמְּמוֹ, זָכָה נַעֲשָׂה רֹאשׁ, לֹא זָכָה נַעֲשָׂה רָשׁ. וְגַם אָנוּ מְחֻיָּבִים לְקַדֵּשׁ וּלְהַבְדִּיל עַל הַיַּיִן בְּשַׁבָּתוֹת וְיָמִים טוֹבִים וּלְבָרֵךְ בִּרְכַּת הַמָּזוֹן עַל הַכּוֹס שֶׁל יַיִן, כִּי אֵין אוֹמְרִים שִׁיר אֶלָּא עַל הַיַּיִן, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב, הַמְשַׂמֵּחַ אֱלֹהִים וַאֲנָשִׁים. עַל־כֵּן רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ, וְזַכֵּנִי אוֹתִי וְאֶת כָּל חֶבְרָתֵינוּ וְאֶת כָּל עַמְּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל, שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה כָּל אֶחָד לְפִי בְּחִינָתוֹ לֵידַע בְּכָל עֵת לְכַוֵּן הַמִּדָּה, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁנִּתְרַחֵק מֵהַשִּׁכְרוּת לְגַמְרֵי. וּבְעֵת שֶׁיִּהְיֶה רְצוֹנְךָ לְשַׂמְּחֵנוּ מִיֵּינְךָ הַטּוֹב, תְּזַכֵּנוּ וְתִשְׁמֹר אוֹתָנוּ שֶׁלֹּא נִשְׁתֶּה יוֹתֵר מִדַּאי רַק מְעַט הַמֻּכְרָח, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה לְשַׂמֵּחַ נַפְשֵׁנוּ וּלְהַרְחִיב דַּעְתֵּנוּ וּלְהַגְדִּיל הַחֲסָדִים, וְלֹא נָבֹא עַל־יְדֵי־זֶה לִידֵי רֹגֶז וְדִינִים וּגְבוּרוֹת חַס וְשָׁלוֹם כְּלָל. רַק אַדְרַבָּא נִזְכֶּה עַל־יְדֵי מְעַט הַשְּׁתִיָּה לְהִתְפַּתּוֹת בַּחֲסָדִים דִּקְדֻשָּׁה יוֹתֵר וְיוֹתֵר בְּשִׂמְחָה וּבְטוּב לֵבָב בֶּאֱמֶת כִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה לְהִתְדַּבֵּק בְּךָ בֶּאֱמֶת, וְלָגִיל וְלָשִׁיר וְלִשְׂמֹחַ בְּשִׁמְךָ בְּגִילָה וְרַנֵּן, וּלְדַבֵּר דִּבְרֵי־תוֹרָה בְּהַרְחָבַת הַלֵּב וּבְשִׂמְחָה מַה שֶּׁצְרִיכִין לְדַבֵּר וּלְגַלּוֹת, וְתָשִׂים מַחְסוֹם לְפִינוּ לִבְלִי לִהְיוֹת 'הוֹלֵךְ רָכִיל מְגַלֶּה סוֹד', לִבְלִי לְגַלּוֹת אָז חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, מַה שֶּׁאֵין צְרִיכִין לְגַלּוֹת. וְתִפְתַּח אֶת פִּינוּ בְּשִׁירוֹת וְתִשְׁבָּחוֹת לְשִׁמְךָ הַגָּדוֹל וְהַקָּדוֹשׁ כִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב, וִיקֻיַּם בָּנוּ מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב, וְחִכֵּךְ כְּיֵין הַטּוֹב הוֹלֵךְ לְדוֹדִי לְמֵישָׁרִים דּוֹבֵב שִׂפְתֵי יְשֵׁנִים. עָזְרֵנִי לִהְיוֹת כִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב בְּכָל הַתְּנוּעוֹת, בַּאֲכִילָה וּשְׁתִיָּה וּשְׁאָר הֶכְרֵחִיּוּת, הַכֹּל אֶזְכֶּה לַעֲשׂוֹת עַל צַד הַיּוֹתֵר טוֹב בֶּאֱמֶת כְּפִי רְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב בֶּאֱמֶת בְּאוֹתוֹ הָעֵת וְהַזְּמַן, וְלֹא אָסוּר מֵרְצוֹנְךָ יָמִין וּשְׂמֹאל מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עוֹלָם, אָמֵן סֶלָה:
Master of the Universe: You know that even according to the great shame and disgrace of intoxication without measure — even so: the Torah did not prohibit wine entirely; and our masters of blessed memory did not prohibit it; but rather they said: wine gladdens the heart of man [Psalms 104:15]; and wine was made for nothing but consolation [Sanhedrin 70a]. And therefore: help me and save me and strengthen me and embolden me always — that I merit to drink wine and other drinks only at the right time and in the right measure; only as much as is needed to gladden my heart before You; so that I merit through the joy of wine to the true joy of the heart; and to always direct everything toward the service of G‑d in truth; and to never deviate from Your will — right or left — from now and forever. Amen Selah. And have mercy upon me and be filled with compassion upon me; and open a crack of light for me; and from that crack help me to see all the light; and may I merit to truly return to You and to be as Your good will desires in truth — always. 26th of the Month Singular One — Primordial One; strong and mighty: strengthen me and embolden me in prayer and in conversation before You always. For I know — that all the repairs of the world and all the salvations of the world come only through prayer; and the essence of the repair is through prayer; and therefore everything depends on it. And therefore please strengthen me always in prayer before You at every time and every moment — that I not cease from prayer and supplication before You; and that I merit to multiply prayers of repentance before You; and that I pour out my heart before You always — like water; with great and bitter crying and supplication; and that I not be ashamed before any person in the world from this; and that I not restrain myself from crying and from weeping before You because of any shame whatsoever; and that I not look to the left or to the right at all from my crying and my supplication before You at all times; but rather to pour out my heart before You as a man pours out his heart before his father or his master or his teacher; and that I merit to walk thus always — without any shame at all in the world; and that I not be ashamed and not be confused at all before any created being; only before You alone — G‑d. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem, my Rock and my Redeemer [Psalms 19:15].
