Siman Eighty-Three — Matan B'Seserסימן פג — מתן בסתר And behold: the above kelipah nurses from the Alef-Beis according to the numerical value of its name — meaning: from the pahs [letter pehs] as above. The author says: it is known from the earlier authorities — and brought also in Midrash Talpiyos, entry Binyamin — the matter of the verse: [Numbers 26] "to Shefufam — the family of the Shufami — to Chufam — the family of the Chufami." In this verse there are six words — and in each word there is one peh — corresponding to the above six pahs — and so on — see there. And according to Rabbainu's words it is somewhat elaborated: for the sale of Yosef to Egypt — which is the nakedness of the land [ervas ha'aretz] — was in the aspect of the blemish of the covenant — through the above kelipah. For Yosef is the aspect of the covenant — as is known. And Mitzrayim [Egypt] is the aspect of the above kelipah — this being the aspect of the 480,000 armies [t'f alef chayyalos] that Pharaoh had — as elaborated in Megaleh Amukos, section 184. And see Zohar Vayeitzeh, p. 153b — on the matter of Yosef and Binyamin and the sons of Binyamin — who were all named after the sale of Yosef — and so on. Therefore the Torah alluded through their names to the above six pahs. For in truth: on the contrary — "for life G-d sent me" [lemichiyah sh'lachani Elokim].
