T254 PNC - The Eyes Are Exalted Things — They See Visions Constantly

The eyes are exalted, sublime things — they are constantly seeing great and awesome sights. If a person merited to have purified eyes, he would know enormous things just from what his eyes already see, because they are seeing all the time — but he does not know what he sees. Why? Compare: when something passes in front of your eyes very quickly, you don't know what passed. Even though the eyes saw it completely, the speed left no time to bring the seeing across into the knowledge — and only when the seeing reaches the da'at do you actually "know" what you saw. Without the pause, the image is captured but never registers. So too with the spiritual visions — the eyes are constantly receiving visions and revelations, but they pass too rapidly for the da'at to grasp them. The eyes are seeing prophecy all day; the work is to slow the stream long enough for the heart to know what it has just seen. "And understand."
