[T2:120א] רבינו: מי שאינו ראוי — אל יתפלל עם כוונות. "לא תלמד לעשות" (דב' יח:ט; שבת עה.; ר"ה כד.; סנה' סח.) — לדמיון: ללמוד להבין ולהורות, לא לכוון בתפילה.
**Echad mei-anshei shloimeinu siper li, she-hayah me-dabber im Rabbeinu, zichroinoi li-vrachah, ba-avoidas HaShem ke-darko. Ve-hevin Rabbeinu she-hu oseik ketzas le-chavein kavanois bi-tefilaso. Ve-hikpid alav Rabbeinu, zichroinoi li-vrachah, me'oid ve-amar lo, she-loi ya'asok od ba-zeh, ve-loi yis-paleil im kavanois — rak yechavein peirush ha-milois ki-pshutoi** *(af-al-pi she-zeh ha-ish lamad kisvei ha-Ari, zichroinoi li-vrachah, al pi pekudaso — af-al-pi-chein loi ratzah she-yis-paleil im kavanois klal).* **Even one who has learned kisvei ha-Arizal** — *al pi pekudas Rabbeinu atzmoi* — *should not daven with kavanois*. **Ve-amar lo Rabbeinu**: *mi she-eino ra'ui le-zeh, k'she-mis-paleil im kavanois, hu kemo kishuf* — *like sorcery*. **Ki bi-Kishuf ne'emar** (Devorim 18:9): **"loi silmad la-asois,"** ve-darshu Chazal (Shabbos 75a; Rosh haShanah 24a; Sanhedrin 68a): **"loi silmad la-asois — aval atah lamed le-havin u-le-horois."** *So with kavanois — be-li-hav-deil*: *ein tzrichin lilmod osam ki im le-havin u-le-horois, aval loi la-asois imahem — de-haynu le-chavein osam ba-tefillah, mi she-eino ra'ui le-zeh*.
[T2:120ב] עיקר התפילה = דבקות. עדיפות מבנה: לעז ספונטני; אך תיקנו אנשי כנה"ג סדר התפילה בלה"ק. על כן — "לכוון פירוש המילות כפשוטו" = עיקר התפילה.
**Ve-amar ki ikar ha-tefillah hi devekus le-HaShem yisbarach, ve-hayah toiv yoter le-his-paleil bi-lshoin laaz, she-medabrim bo, ki k'she-mis-palelim ba-lashoin she-medabrim bo, azai ha-leiv samuch ve-davuk me'oid be-dibburei ha-tefillah, ve-yachoil le-dabek atzmoi be-yoter le-HaShem yisbarach.** *Ikar ha-tefillah hi devekus*. Therefore, *be-takhlis*, *davening in the laaz one actually speaks* would let *the heart cleave to the words*. **Ach kvar tiknu lanu Anshei Knesses ha-Gedolah seder ha-tefillah** — *not every adam can sefer-it himself*, *al kein anu chayavim le-his-paleil bi-loshoin ha-kadosh ke-mo she-sidru lanu*. **Aval ha-ikar hu rak le-chavein peirush ha-milois ki-pshutoi, she-zehu ikar ha-tefillah, she-mis-palelin (al peirush ha-milois ki-pshutoi).** The bridge is *peirush ha-milois ki-pshutoi*: in the *holy nusach* of Knesses ha-Gedolah, but with the *heart attached to plain meaning* as if one were speaking laaz from the heart. *Devekus, not chochmah.*
