Sefer Hamidos - The Book of Traits

א. מִי שֶׁאוֹמֵר מְסִירוּת עַל חֲבֵרוֹ, לְסּוֹף שֶׁיְּהֵא מְטֻלְטָל, וְשׂוֹנְאִים קָמִים עָלָיו, וְרוֹאֶה בְּעַצְמוֹ מַה שֶׁרָצָה לִרְאוֹת עַל חֲבֵרוֹ, וְכָל הַנִּסְמָכִין עָלָיו נוֹפְלִים, וּמִשְׁפַּחַת הַנִּרְדָּף לוֹקְחִין גְּדֻלָּתוֹ.

One who informs on his fellow man (to gentiles) ends up being a vagabond, enemies rise up against him, he experiences himself that which he wanted to bring upon his fellow, all those who depend on him fall, and the family of the one he pursued takes his greatness.

ב. מִי שֶׁמּוֹסֵר אֶת הַצַּדִּיק, יוֹרֵד מִנְּכָסָיו.

One who informs (to gentiles) on the Tzaddik loses all his possessions.

ג. מֻתָּר לַהֲרֹג אֶת הַמָּסוּר. ד. אָסוּר לִמְסֹר אֲפִלּוּ אֶת הָרָשָׁע לַהֲרִיגָה.

It is permitted to kill an informer (to gentiles). It is forbidden to deliver (to gentiles) even an evildoer to execution.
