And he appeased him with his wisdom and said to him: this is the way — that the fast becomes more intense in the middle of the week. Do you not see that tomorrow it will become lighter for me? Until the man was compelled to be silent — for he had made him swear first not to reveal his fasts to anyone. Once he fasted from Shabbas to Shabbas, and in the middle of the week he was compelled to lie in his bed, and he hung his leg up on the bar and the like — from the extreme weakness. 331.
