And while he was lying on his bed — a great commotion arose in the city: there was a fire in the street adjacent to his house. And there was then a very great and awesome storm-wind unlike anything ordinarily encountered — literally tearing apart the mountains and shattering the rocks. And the sukkah that had been built beside his house fell from the force of the wind. And in the fierceness of the storm-wind that went about raging — the fire mentioned above spread. And many of the assembled fled to the fire. And I was unable to determine what to do. And I said in my heart that I would certainly not be parted from him — whatever would be. But for the moment I also ran to the place of the fire to see what was happening there — for I understood that in this brief while he would not expire. And while I was running there — Hashem Blessed be He had compassion on His people, and the fire was extinguished by miracle in the midst of such a raging storm-wind. And men met me as I was running to the place of the fire and informed me — blessed be Hashem — the fire has subsided in its place. And I returned to him. And we stood over him beside his holy bed. And the house was full of many people of Israel who had come for his honor.
