בְּיוֹם ג' הַנַּ"ל נָסַע רַבִּי אַיְזִיק נֵרוֹ יָאִיר לַדֶּרֶךְ לְשִׁיקְלָאב וְעָשָׂה אֵיזֶה סְעֻדָּה קדֶם נְסִיעָתוֹ, וְהָיָה שָׁם רַבִּי אַהֲרן חֲתַן רַבֵּנוּ זִכְרוֹנוֹ לִבְרָכָה וְרַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אָחִיו שֶׁהָיָה לוֹ אָז מַחֲלוֹקֶת עִמּוֹ:
And behold — throughout that summer — which was the year 5581 mentioned above — all my thoughts were: that immediately when I merited to complete the printing I would travel immediately to Eretz Yisroel — that is: that I would be in Uman for Rosh Hashana — and immediately after Rosh Hashana I would travel from Uman to Odessa and from there to Eretz Yisroel. But when I was in Uman for Rosh Hashana with the books — after Rosh Hashana — the obstacles multiplied. And also obstacles because of money. And I also still needed to be at home for the completion of the books that still required arrangement — and other affairs I was compelled to attend to. And because of all this I was compelled to return home — and did not travel immediately.
