Afterward I left the synagogue with the young man and returned to my lodgings. And they honored me with coffee with pastry. And I waited long for Rabbi Aharon — until he finished the morning prayer and said Psalms. Afterward he went with me to the sea — to go back again and search for the ship. And I went back in deflated spirit — since I did not know the location of the ship. And today was Erev Shabbas — which was Erev Shavuos. And if — Heaven forbid — I did not find the ship today as yesterday — what would I do on Shabbas and Shavuos? For then I would be alone — Heaven forbid — without my companion Rabbi Yehuda Eliezer.
