And behold — on the night of Rosh Hashonah there was a great strong stormy wind. And we had great fear. And this stormy wind continued all night and all the day until the time of Mincha. And because of the sea-storm I became very weak in the morning. And I could not pray — as I had already had this sea-illness many times and was unable to pray at all. And also most of the other people on the ship weakened greatly. And through the great kindness of Hashem — He made His wonders with me. And He helped me in such a weakened state to pray a little — and to hear the voice of the shofar — and to be aroused to a little weeping. And also the prayer leaders prayed seated. And everything was through Hashem's great salvation. And also we fulfilled the mitzvah of blowing the shofar properly. And on the second day of Rosh Hashonah — after the conclusion of the prayers and the blowings and after the morning meal — the ship came again and stood near some place. And this place was near the city of Chernikilts — about a day's journey by land. And we had anguish that it stood there. And even so — on the second day of Rosh Hashonah mentioned above — I was not drawn after the anguish at all. Rather — on the contrary — Hashem Blessed be He helped me — and great joy came over me — and I danced greatly on the second day of Rosh Hashonah in great joy.
