קִבַּלְתִּי מִכְתָּבְךָ עַל יְדֵי הַשָּׁלִיחַ הַיּוֹם. וּכְבָר כָּתַבְתִּי לְךָ אֶתְמוֹל עַל יְדֵי הַבַּעַל עֲגָלָה שֶׁלִּי שֶׁבָּאתִי תּוֹדָה לָאֵל לְפֹה אֶתְמוֹל בְּשָׁלוֹם, וְכָעֵת אֵין לְחַדֵּשׁ כְּלָל. גַּם אֵין פְּנַאי מֵחֲמַת כְּבוֹד שַׁבַּת קֹדֶשׁ וּנְחִיצַת מוֹסֵר כְּתָב זֶה. הַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ יוֹלִיכֵנִי לְשָׁלוֹם בְּדֶרֶךְ הַיָּשָׁר וְהָאֱמֶת. וְנִזְכֶּה עַל כָּל פָּנִים מֵעַתָּה לָצֵאת מִזֻּהֲמַת מִצְרַיִם, הַכּוֹלֵל כָּל הַגָּלֻיּוֹת שֶׁעִקָּרָם גָּלוּת הַנֶּפֶשׁ, שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה כָּל אֶחָד לְטַהֵר עַצְמֵנוּ מִמַּחֲשָׁבוֹת רָעוֹת וְרַעְיוֹנִים זָרִים וּמְבֻלְבָּלִים, וּלְקַשֵּׁר מַחְשְׁבוֹתֵינוּ בְּכָל עֵת אֶל הַתּוֹרָה וְאֶל הַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ בְּכָל כֹּחֵנוּ. כִּי אַף עַל פִּי כֵן אֵיךְ שֶׁנִּתְעֶה כָּל אֶחָד בְּמַחֲשַׁבְתּוֹ בְּתִמְהוֹן לֵבָב וְכוּ', אַף עַל פִּי כֵן עֲדַיִן עֲדַיִן הַמַּחֲשָׁבָה בְּיָדוֹ בְּכָל עֵת וָרֶגַע. וְהַכֹּל תָּלוּי בִּקְדֻשַּׁת הַמַּחֲשָׁבָה. כִּי כֻּלָּא בְּמַחֲשָׁבָה אִתְבְּרִירוּ, וְזֶה נֶאֱמַר עַל כָּל אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל. וְיֵשׁ בָּזֶה הַרְבֵּה הַרְבֵּה לְדַבֵּר עִמְּךָ, אַךְ אֵין הַזְּמַן וְהַיְרִיעָה מַסְפֶּקֶת. וְהָעִקָּר שֶׁיִּהְיֶה כָּל דְּבָרֵינוּ אֵלֶיךָ לְטוֹבָה, וְלֹא לְהֵפֶךְ חַס וְשָׁלוֹם לְהַרְבּוֹת הַמָּרָה שְׁחוֹרָה חַס וְשָׁלוֹם עַל יְדֵי זֶה, רַק אַדְּרַבָּא לְהִתְחַזֵּק בְּשִׂמְחָה בְּכָל עֹז. כִּי כְּבָר יָדוּעַ לָנוּ מַה שֶּׁאָמַר הוּא זַ"ל שֶׁעַצְבוּת מַזִּיק מְאֹד חַס וְשָׁלוֹם לְעִנְיַן בִּלְבּוּל הַמַּחֲשָׁבוֹת רָעוֹת חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, וּצְרִיכִין לַהֲפֹךְ הַיָּגוֹן וַאֲנָחָה לְשָׂשׂוֹן וְשִׂמְחָה.
