(ט) בהיותו בזאסלאב היה לו מחוש וחולאת גדול וכתב אגרת לכלל אנשי שלומנו, ובקש מאד שנתפלל עבורו, ואחר כך שב לאיתנו. ואחר כך כתב עוד אגרת לכלל אנשי שלומנו לבל יהיה לריק יגיעו שיגע עם כל אחד ואחד להוציאו משני הס"מ, כמבאר העתק האגרת במקום אחר (לקמן קסו). ובבואו לביתו אמר שאנו פעלנו בתפלותינו ששב לאיתנו בזאסלאב מחולאת הנ"ל:

(9.) While he was in Zaslav he felt ill and had a severe illness, and he wrote a letter to all the generality of our people, urgently requesting that we pray for him. And afterwards he returned to his strength. And afterwards he wrote another letter to all the generality of our people — not to let his labor have been in vain, the labor he exerted with every single one of them to save them from the teeth of the evil inclination, as the letter copy is brought elsewhere [below #166]. And when he came home he said that through our prayers we accomplished that he recovered from the aforementioned illness in Zaslav.
