תּוֹרָה קב

Every person must be careful in his prayer — to pray in a manner that can awaken and draw abundance in the world. And this depends on fear. For: ""all who have fear of Heaven — their words are heard"" [Berachos 6b]. And there are two kinds of fear. For there is supernal fear [yirah elyonah] — which comes to a person sometimes whenever it wishes — and for such fear there is no reward. And there is fear that comes to a person through the person's own effort. And this fear is the aspect of: ""a righteous one rules — the fear of G-d"" [II Samuel 23:3]. And through such fear — one's prayer is heard — and abundance descends into the world — and His sovereignty, may He be blessed, is revealed and magnified.
