Through receiving advice from true Tzadikim — the judgments are sweetened. And through this salvation will come to him. And also if he does not receive advice from Tzadikim — then it is possible that evil will come to him — G-d forbid — through himself — in the aspect of: ""a man's own folly perverts his way"" etc. [Proverbs 19:3]. But if he receives advice from Tzadikim — even if afterwards it did not go well for him — he knows that it came only from above.
