One who is brazen-faced has no portion in Torah. And likewise in reverse — one who has no holy brazenness [azus di-k'dushshah] also has no portion in Torah. For one needs holy brazenness — as our Sages of blessed memory said: ""be bold as a leopard"" [Avos ch. 5]. And the attribute of humility is an entirely separate matter. And the primary completeness of the attribute of humility is when one is at the level of being able to take pride in being humble — as Moshe our Teacher, peace be upon him, who himself wrote ""and the man Moshe was humble"". And as we find that Rav Yosef said: ""do not teach humility — for I am here"" [Sotah 49b] — this is the ultimate level of humility.
