תּוֹרָה פא לִפְעָמִים מְדַבֵּר הַצַּדִּיק עִם הָעוֹלָם שִׂיחַת חֻלִּין, וְהוּא טוֹבָה גְּדוֹלָה לָהֶם, כִּי יֵשׁ בְּנֵי אָדָם שֶׁרְחוֹקִים מֵהַתּוֹרָה וְהַדַּעַת מְאֹד עַד שֶׁאִי אֶפְשָׁר לְקָרְבָם עַל־יְדֵי דִּבְרֵי תּוֹרָה, כִּי אִם עַל־יְדֵי שִׂיחַת חֻלִּין דַּיְקָא שֶׁהַצַּדִּיק מַלְבִּישׁ בָּהֶם אֶת הַתּוֹרָה. גַּם לִפְעָמִים הוּא טוֹבָה לְהַצַּדִּיק בְּעַצְמוֹ שֶׁצָּרִיךְ לְפַקֵחַ דַּעְתּוֹ וּלְהַחֲיוֹת אֶת עַצְמוֹ עַל־יְדֵי שִׂיחָה זֹאת, וּמִמֵּילָא עַל־יְדֵי־זֶה מַגִּיעַ טוֹבָה גְּדוֹלָה גַּם לְזֶה הָאִישׁ שֶׁמְּדַבֵּר עִם הַצַּדִּיק שִׂיחַת חֻלִּין וּמְחַיֶּה אוֹתוֹ:
Sometimes the Tzadik speaks secular conversation [sichas chulin] with people — and it is a great benefit to them. For there are people so distant from Torah and da'as that it is impossible to bring them close except through secular conversation specifically — in which the Tzadik clothes the Torah. Also sometimes it is beneficial to the Tzadik himself — who needs to open his mind and revive himself through this conversation. And automatically through this a great benefit also reaches the person who speaks secular conversation with the Tzadik and revives him.
