תּוֹרָה פט כְּשֶׁאָדָם יוֹדֵעַ שֶׁכָּל הַחֶסְרוֹנוֹת שֶׁלּוֹ נוֹגְעִים גַּם לְהַשְּׁכִינָה, בְּוַדַּאי יוּכַל לִהְיוֹת לוֹ יוֹתֵר צַעַר גָּדוֹל וְעַצְבוּת, וְלֹא יוּכַל לַעֲבֹד אֶת הַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ בְּשִׂמְחָה, עַל־כֵּן צָרִיךְ לְהָשִׁיב לְעַצְמוֹ מָה אֲנִי שֶׁהַמֶּלֶךְ בְּעַצְמוֹ יְסַפֵּר לִי הַחִסָּרוֹן שֶׁלּוֹ, וְכִי יֵשׁ כָּבוֹד גָּדוֹל מִזֶּה, וְעַל־יְדֵי־זֶה יָבוֹא לְשִׂמְחָה גְּדוֹלָה וְיִתְחַדְּשׁוּ הַמֹּחִין שֶׁלּוֹ:
When a person knows that all his deficiencies also affect the "Shechinah" — he could certainly be seized by great grief and sadness and be unable to serve Hashem Yisborach with joy. Therefore he must answer himself: who am I — that the King Himself should tell me of His own deficiency? And is there any greater honour than this? And through this he will come to great joy — and his minds will be renewed.
