It is a great commandment to always be in joy. And to strengthen oneself to distance the sadness and melancholy with all one's power — and to always be only joyful. And it is a healing for all types of illness. For all types of illness — G-d have mercy — all come from sadness and melancholy. And one must gladden oneself with all types of counsel. And for the most part — through words of foolishness specifically — as is explained elsewhere. And even though a broken heart is also very good — this is only for a designated hour in the day — to break one's heart. And to express one's conversation before Him, may He be blessed — as is brought among us. But all day — one must be in joy. For from a broken heart one can easily come to melancholy — more than one can stumble through joy to come to some frivolity — G-d forbid. Therefore one must always be in joy. Only in a designated hour should one have a broken heart.
