Tinyana All Reached Their Level Only Through Hisbodidus They told me that he said: From small to great, it is impossible to be a truly upright person except through hisbodidus [secluded prayer]. And he said that the descendants of the Baal Shem Tov are especially accustomed to this, for they are from the seed of David the King, peace be upon him, and all of David’s occupation was this matter, that he greatly broke his heart before Hashem constantly, which is the essence of the Book of Psalms that he established, as explained elsewhere.
