Hear, O G‑d, my voice in my speech — from the dread of the enemy preserve my life [ Psalms 64:2 ]. Hashem, hear my voice — may Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications [ Psalms 130:2 ]. Hashem — I have called to You; hasten to me; give ear to my voice in my calling to You [ Psalms 141:1 ]. From the belly of the grave I cried out — You heard my voice. You heard my voice — do not shut Your ear from my relief, from my cry [ Lamentations 3:56 ]. I said to Hashem: You are my G‑d — hear, Hashem, the voice of my supplications [ Psalms 140:7 ]. Master of the Universe — pangs have seized me; like a woman in labor I moan; like a pregnant woman who draws close to give birth — she writhes and cries out in her pangs: so have we been before You, Hashem . For You know all the tribulation that has befallen us — for from our youth until this very day, the bitter yoke of exile of all the seventy nations has greatly overpowered us: their desires and their evil traits; and in particular the most evil desire — the comprehensive evil of all seventy nations — which is the desire of immorality [ ta'avas hamishgal ]; this very evil and exceedingly bitter desire has greatly overpowered and spread itself over us. And You know all that has passed over us on account of this. Were I to say I shall recount it — the scrolls would run out. And how many times have I cried out to You in all kinds of voices and sighs and prayers and supplications — and still I have no complete salvation. Indeed, in truth I know that I have not yet begun to cry out at all — even one part in a thousand-thousands [ echad me'elef u'revavah ] of the crying out that is fitting for me to cry. But what shall I do, my Father in Heaven? For You know that it is entirely impossible for me to cry out with the voice that is fitting for me — for all the voices in the world are not sufficient for me to cry and call out over the very many troubles of my soul.

And now I have come before You, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers; G‑d of the first and the last: that You have pity and compassion upon me according to the greatness of Your lovingkindness; and act with me according to the greatness of Your wonders. And take me out and save me and raise me up from this bitter exile of the seventy nations — and distance and drive away and nullify from me all their desires and evil traits. And in particular the desire of immorality — distance it and drive it away and shatter it and nullify it from me with a complete nullification. And hearken to my blemished voice; and attend to my spoiled cry; and hear my outcry and have compassion upon my sighing — for I sigh and am very crushed with a breaking of the loins. And place in my heart that I cry and call out to You always with a great voice without ceasing — and may I give You no silence until You answer me and have compassion upon me and save me and rescue me. And place in my heart wisdom, understanding, and holy knowledge; and counsel and might for the war [ etzah u'gevurah lamilchamah ]: in such a manner that I merit to shatter and nullify from upon me completely the desire of immorality — together with all the desires and evil traits. And may I merit through Your mercies to take out and rescue my soul from the exile of the seventy nations — to purify it and sanctify it and clarify it from all their desires and evil traits; and in particular from the comprehensive desire which is the desire of immorality. Please, Hashem — hear my blemished voice; incline Your ear to the voice of my outcry, to the voice of my sigh, to the voice of my tear, to the voice of my supplication. With every kind of voice I cry out to You — O Hearer of outcry: hear the voice of our outcry. And may my bitter and blemished and spoiled voice rise and appear before You, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers — always full of mercy — as though I were crying out before You seventy consecutive voices [ shiv'in kalin retufim ] like the woman in labor before the birth. My voice — to Hashem I call; my voice — to Hashem I entreat [ Psalms 142:2 ]. My voice — to G‑d I cry out; my voice — to G‑d, and He will give ear to me [ Psalms 77:2 ]. Rescue my soul from the sword — my only one from the grip of a dog [ Psalms 22:21 ]. To You I spread out my palms [ Psalms 143:6 ]. Rescue! Rescue! Save! Save! Save, my Master the King! Help me, my Father in Heaven! Rescue me, my Father — Compassionate Father [ Av haRachaman ]! See the tear of the oppressed! See the shame of the disgraced! Help and save one pursued as I am — degraded as I am: for I am pursued by myself, and even so I know not at all how to save myself — to rescue my soul from the pit.

Master of the Universe! Master of the Universe! My eyes have wept toward the heights — Hashem, I am oppressed; be my guarantor [ Isaiah 38:14 ]. Be guarantor for Your servant for good — let not the willful ones oppress me [ Psalms 119:122 ]. Arise, Hashem — release my soul from the bitter exile of the seventy nations: their evil traits and desires; and in particular from this desire which is their comprehensive desire. For Your intention was for our good — and You brought us into this exile of their desires and evil traits in order to test and refine our souls through this exile; so that we merit to stand in this test and refinement of their desires and traits — and in particular in the comprehensive desire, which is the main test and refinement for every person in this world. And it is impossible to merit any revelation in Torah and service except through being tested and refined in this comprehensive desire, which is the desire of immorality [ ta'avas niuf ]. But what shall I say, what shall I speak? For You tested my heart — You visited at night; You refined me; You found nothing; my design shall not pass my mouth [ Psalms 17:3 ]. And behold — I have come into the depth of the exile. And not only did I not merit to break the husk that precedes the fruit and to eat the fruit afterward — to merit the revelation of the Torah; but I also greatly blemished through this; until my life was consumed in grief and my years in sighing; my strength failed through my iniquity and my bones were dried up [ Psalms 31:11 ]. But I know: my Redeemer lives — and He shall at last arise upon the dust [ Job 19:25 ]. And I still have hope even now — and there is no despair in the world at all [ ein shum ye'ush ba'olam k'lal ]. Therefore as long as my soul is within me — I shall cry out to You; as long as my spirit is within me — I shall whisper to Your mercies; all the time that the neshamah is within me — I shall hope and trust and yearn for Your salvation.
And therefore — may it be the will before You, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers; G‑d of Avraham, G‑d of Yitzchak, and G‑d of Yaakov; and G‑d of all the true tzadikim ; the great, mighty, and awesome G‑d; G‑d Most High; Who bestows good lovingkindnesses and acquires all: that You help me in the merit of our fathers; in the merit of the true tzadikim — mighty in power [ giborei koach ] — who stood through countless trials and subdued their inclination and merited the revelation of the Torah. In their merit and their power — help me and save me: that I merit to shatter and drive away and nullify from me the comprehensive desire — which is the desire of immorality. And be in my help always at every time — in such a manner that I merit to shatter and drive away and nullify this desire from me completely with a complete nullification. And may I merit to the holiness of the bris and to great perishus [ perishus gadol ] in truth, in great holiness and purity, as Your good will desires. And have mercy upon us and draw upon us the holiness and perishus of Moshe Rabbainu, may he rest in peace — who merited the ultimate perishus in great holiness; as it is written: And as for you — stand here with Me [ Deuteronomy 5:28 ]. And draw upon us his great and awe-inspiring holiness; and grant us merit — in his merit and in the merit of all the true tzadikim — to shatter and drive away and nullify from us completely the desire of immorality. And may we all merit — we and our offspring — to be holy and pure in truth, in the holiness and perishus of Moshe Rabbainu, may he rest in peace.

And have compassion upon us and help us and save us and grant us merit — and give us power and might through Your immense mercies; and shield us and be with us always: that we merit through Your great power — through the power and merit of Moshe Rabbainu, may he rest in peace, and through the power and merit of all the true tzadikim — to drive away and shatter and uproot and destroy and nullify the klipah of wicked Bilam from the world: which is the overpowering of the desire of immorality — for he was exceedingly steeped in licentiousness. And draw upon us always the holiness of Moshe Rabbainu and the holiness of all the true tzadikim ; and grant us merit speedily to go out from the exile of the seventy nations — which is the desire of immorality and all the other evil desires. And help us and save us — to shatter and drive away and nullify all of them from upon us and from within our borders swiftly and speedily. And grant us merit through Your abundant mercies that our soul return to its root — and may our soul be absorbed through Your mercies within the seventy [ ayin ] souls of the House of Yaakov; within the twelve tribes of G‑d [ shneim asar shivtei Yah ]; within the forty-nine [ mem-tes ] letters of their holy names — for there is the root of our souls and spirits and neshamos . And may I merit through this to be absorbed within the seventy faces [ ayin panim ] of the holy Torah. And may You grant me merit to come speedily to a great revelation in Torah and service [ giluy gadol beTorah va'avodah ] — in great holiness and purity, in truth and in complete faith. And may You illuminate my eyes with Your Torah — and grant me merit to constantly innovate true Torah novellae [ chidushim amitiyim ]: novellae drawn from the innermost source of the holy Torah; novellae that lead to good deeds; novellae that have the power to bring a person out from the exile of the seventy nations — from their desires and evil traits; and to draw him near to the Torah and to service; novellae through which new souls are drawn to all those who hear them.
And help me through Your abundant mercies — to accept upon myself always the yoke of the Kingship of Heaven [ ol malchus shamayim ] with love. And may I merit to rescue my soul from evil musings through the recitation of these two verses of accepting the yoke of the Kingship of Heaven: which are Hear O Israel: Hashem is our G‑d — Hashem is One ; and Blessed be the Name of His glorious Kingdom forever and ever . And may You grant me merit to be always accustomed to recite these verses every time with great and immense intention, and with great joy, and with self-sacrifice [ mesiras nefesh ]. And may You stir my heart with love and longing and great desire toward You — until I merit to shed tears at the time of accepting the yoke of the Kingship of Heaven in these two verses. And may I merit through this to receive and draw upon myself the holy Kingship [ malchus dikdushah ]; and to humble and shatter and uproot and nullify the kingship of wickedness from the world — which is the desire of immorality; which is the evil maidservant [ shifchah beisha ], the harlot-woman. And may the maidservant flee before her mistress — as it is written: I am fleeing from before my mistress Sarai [ Genesis 16:8 ]. And may I merit through Your power to prevail and enthrone the G‑d-fearing woman [ ishah yiras Hashem ] over the harlot-woman — and may the maidservant be humbled and fall before her mistress and flee from her face. In such a manner that I merit to nullify from me the desire of immorality and to prevail over all the evil musings — to drive them away and shatter them and nullify them from upon me with a complete nullification, from now and forever. And may I merit through the recitation of these two verses — which contain twelve words [ shneim asar teivos ] — that my soul be absorbed through this within the twelve tribes of G‑d, which are the totality of the holy Kingship. And through the forty-nine [ mem-tes ] letters that are in these two verses — may I merit to be absorbed within the forty-nine letters that are in the names of the children of Israel — which are the twelve tribes of G‑d. And help me to repair the blemish of the eyes [ pegam ha'einayim ] — and may I not stray after my heart and after my eyes. And may You guard my eyes always from every kind of blemish of sight — and may I not gaze upon any thing that leads to evil musing, G‑d forbid. Turn away my eyes from seeing vanity — in Your way revive me [ Psalms 119:37 ]. Uncover my eyes that I may behold wonders from Your Torah [ Psalms 119:18 ]. And grant us merit through Your mercies and help us and save us — and rebuke the spirit of folly and madness [ ruach shtus v'shiga'on ] that has attached itself to us through our evil deeds; and drive it away and remove it from us through Your abundant mercies from now and forever. For You know that all our evil desires — and in particular the evil desire of immorality — all of them are drawn solely through the spirit of folly and madness that has seized hold of us through our many iniquities; until we resemble a wandering person and a veritable madman through our many sins. Please, Hashem — Who graciously endows man with knowledge [ chonein la'adam da'as ]: have pity and be gracious to us and grant us merit to drive away and shatter and uproot and nullify all the spirit of folly and madness from us. And grant us merit through Your abundant mercies to the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of Hashem [ Isaiah 11:2 ] — in such a manner that I merit to the rectification of the bris in truth as Your good will desires, swiftly and speedily. And may I merit that my mind be truly complete — with a great completeness in great holiness. Please, Hashem — have pity and compassion upon me and fill my requests with mercy; and help me and grant me merit to arrive speedily at all that I have requested before You.
לְז' אֲדָר הִילּוּלָא דְּמֹשֶׁה רַבֵּנוּ ע"ה
And help me through Your mercies — that I merit to hear true Torah novellae from the mouths of true tzadikim great in rung: who have the power to draw new souls to all who hear the words of their holy Torah. And may I merit through Your mercies to draw upon myself and to receive a holy new soul at every time — through the Torah novellae that I merit to hear from their mouths; and to study in the holy books of the great and awe-inspiring true tzadikim . And help me that the Torah novellae become for me a life-giving balm [ sam chayyim ]. And may I merit to form [ l'tzayer ] the simple light that comes from above — in the aspect of blessing and goodness — even though I am not worthy of this; for You know the immensity of the blemishes and the corruptions that I have greatly blemished and corrupted my vessels of the brain through the blemish of the bris — which is the blemish of da'as . And from where shall my help come to form the light as a blessing? Even so — upon Your abundant mercies I trust; and upon Your lovingkindnesses I lean; and for Your salvation I await; and for Your forgiveness I hope: that You act with me according to Your lovingkindnesses and Your great and awesome wonders. And may You be filled with mercy toward me — and perform with me great and awesome miracles and wonders. And may You Yourself form the light coming from above — in the aspect of blessing and peace and life and good. And may the holy light from above be drawn upon us as a blessing and not as a curse — as it is written: Behold — I have received a blessing; and he blessed; and I cannot reverse it [ Numbers 23:20 ]. And may the verse be fulfilled: But Hashem your G‑d did not wish to listen to Bilam — and Hashem your G‑d transformed the curse for you into a blessing; for Hashem your G‑d loves you [ Deuteronomy 23:6 ]. For I have no hope or refuge or trust or support except in You alone — and in the true tzadikim upon whom we always lean. Upon their power I lean to cry out to You always and to hope for Your mercies and Your salvation. Act with me as You will act — in such a manner that I merit within my lifetime, swiftly and speedily, to guarding of the bris in truth from now and forever, in great holiness. And may I merit to be sanctified in Your supernal holiness — until I merit to the seventy faces of the holy Torah.

Merciful One — redeem! Merciful One — save! Merciful One — have mercy upon us! Merciful One — have mercy upon us! Now, speedily and in a time near at hand. ] May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem, my Rock and my Redeemer [ Psalms 19:15 ]. My soul — my petition; and my people — my request [ cf. Esther 7:3 ]. Rescue my soul from the sword — my only one from the grip of a dog [ Psalms 22:21 ]. Do not strip bare my soul — for in You I have taken refuge [ Psalms 141:8 ]. For You are my hope and You are my strength [ Psalms 71:5 ]. Guard my soul and save me — may I not be put to shame, for I have taken refuge in You; hasten to my help — Hashem, my salvation [ Psalms 25:20 ]. May my soul be precious in Your eyes, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers. May Your mercies roll over Your attributes — may the compassion of Your heart be aroused and moved over my miserable and very degraded soul; over my very hungry and thirsty and exhausted soul; over such a bitter soul — a soul bound in chains of affliction and iron, in thousands upon thousands of nets and snares like birds caught in the trap; an exceedingly oppressed soul. Malei rachamim, malei rachamim — full of mercy, full of mercy; Who sees the shame of the disgraced — look now and see the tear of the oppressed: those who cry and weep and moan and sigh; and from the hand of their oppressors there is power — and they have no comforter. They weep bitterly — and their tear upon their cheek [ Lamentations 1:2 ]. True Merciful One — do not hide Your face from their plea; and do not block Your ear from their outcry; and do not avert Your eyes from their tears. Master of the Universe — to You, Hashem, I lift my soul [ Psalms 25:1 ]. I spread out my hands to You — my soul is like a weary land toward You, Selah [ Psalms 143:6 ]. For the enemy has pursued my soul — he crushed my life to the ground; he made me dwell in darkness like the eternally dead; and my soul was very bewildered — and You, Hashem: how long? [ Psalms 143:3–4 ]. Return, Hashem — release my soul; save me for the sake of Your lovingkindness [ Psalms 6:5 ]. Like a swift, a crane — so do I twitter; I moan like a dove; my eyes have wept toward the heights — Hashem, I am oppressed; be my guarantor. Be guarantor for Your servant for good — let not the willful ones oppress me [ Isaiah 38:14 ]. Redeem me from the oppression of man — and I shall guard Your statutes [ Psalms 119:134 ]. Please, Hashem — rescue my soul from all the desires of the body and its evil traits. Help and save through Your abundant and true mercies my miserable soul — and give it power and might from Yourself, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers: so that it can overpower the body; and may my soul overpower my body — my form [ tzurah ] over my matter [ chomer ]; until I merit to humble and shatter and completely nullify the body and the matter. And may the illumination of my soul and my holy form be revealed — and may the image of G‑d [ tzelem Elokim ], the image in the likeness of His structure [ tzelem demus tavniso ], be drawn upon me. And grant me merit to the light of the holy intellect — to wisdom, understanding, and knowledge; and may I merit to humble and nullify from me every kind of folly and stupidity of the body and the matter. And take me out from darkness to light; from gloom to great illumination; from the folly and darkness of the coarse physicality of the body — to the illumination of the wisdom of the holy soul. And give me my portion in Your Torah — and may I merit to study and to meditate in Your Torah and Your service day and night. And place in my heart understanding — to understand and to contemplate, to hear, to study and to teach, to guard and to perform and to fulfill all the words of Your Torah with love. And illuminate my eyes in Your Torah and attach my heart to Your commandments. And may You separate me and distinguish me from those who wander in alien wisdoms — and shield me and my offspring always and all Your people the House of Israel: that we never engage at all in any alien wisdom; and that we not turn an eye toward nor study any book of the inquiry-books whatsoever — neither the inquiry-books of Israel nor the inquiry-books of the nations. And help us that no inquiry from their inquiries, and no reasoning and opinion from their alien and bitter reasonings and opinions — which hunt with their nets precious souls — ever enter our mind and thought. For in truth all their alien wisdoms are merely folly and stupidity and foolishness and utter vanity in truth — and they are drawn solely from the folly and darkness of the physicality of the body and from their desires and evil traits. For through the immense strength of the overpowering of their bodily desires and their coarse and materialized and defiled and exceedingly loathsome matter — in the ultimate filth and defilement and repugnance — from there their mind and their uncircumcised heart became turbid and corrupted and ruined; until they strayed and were bewildered from opinion to opinion and from reasoning to reasoning; until they arrived at the error and foolishness of their alien wisdoms.

Master of the Universe — have mercy upon us and upon our offspring and upon our remnant; for we are left like a flagpole on a mountaintop with no helper or support, and there is no one to stand up for us. Rescue! Rescue! And save and deliver us and our offspring through Your abundant mercies from every kind of alien wisdom — that we have no portion or engagement with them; and may our hand and our intellect and our heart be removed from them — for neither in these is our portion nor in these our lot. For we are from the seed of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov — believers, sons of believers [ ma'aminim bnei ma'aminim ]. And we merited to stand upon Mount Sinai and to receive Your holy Torah through Moshe Your prophet, the faithful of Your house. Help us that our portion always be in Your holy Torah: The Torah of Hashem is perfect, restoring the soul — the testimony of Hashem is faithful, making wise the simple [ Psalms 19:8 ]. Have pity and compassion upon us — may Your innards be moved over Your children, the sheep of Your flock. And guard us at this time of trouble — in the footsteps of Mashiach [ b'ikvos Meshicha ]; and save and rescue the souls of our sons and daughters: that we may never engage in any alien wisdom at all. And give us power that we merit to humble and shatter and nullify and uproot all the heretics and the deniers from the world. May they be erased from the Book of Life — and with the righteous may they not be written [ Psalms 69:29 ]. And all those who engage in philosophy and inquiries of alien wisdoms — may their name and memory be wiped out from the world. May Hashem cut off the man who engages in their inquiries and their ways — both he who is awake and he who answers [ cf. I Kings 21:21 ]. May his children be orphans and his wife a widow [ Psalms 109:9 ]. May his future be to be cut off — in another generation may their name be wiped out. May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before Hashem and may the sin of his mother not be erased. May they always be before Hashem and may He cut off their memory from the earth [ Psalms 109:13–15 ]. And may their reasonings and opinions be nullified from the world — and may they no longer arise in the heart and no longer be remembered by name. And have mercy upon Your people Israel. And may You raise and exalt and elevate and reveal and illuminate the wisdom of the holy Torah in the world — and may we all return to Your Torah and Your service in truth and in faith, in great holiness and purity. And may we always merit to yearn for Your holy faith in truth as Your good will desires — and may we merit to recognize You in truth even in this world; and to honor Your great Name at every time. For for this You created all the worlds — b'gin d'yishtamod'in laih : so that He be recognized [ Tikkunei Zohar ]. As it is written: All who are called by My Name — and for My glory I have created it; I have formed it; indeed I have made it [ Isaiah 43:7 ]. Help and have mercy and save — and act for Your sake and for the sake of the honor of Your holy Torah: that the wisdom of the holy Torah prevail over the wisdom of philosophy and the alien wisdoms. And may all the wisdoms of the world be nullified against a single letter of Your holy and pure and perfect Torah — the written Torah and the oral Torah. And may they all return to Your Torah and Your service and Your awe in truth with all their heart and soul.

Please, Hashem — Merciful One full of mercy: have pity upon my very miserable soul; and be in my help always; and strengthen and fortify my soul with every kind of might and force — in such a manner that my holy and good soul prevails over the body and its desires and evil traits; until I merit to strip my soul of every kind of bodily desire and its traits. And may I purify and sanctify my soul and my body in every kind of purity and holiness. And may I merit to take out my soul from all the desires and evil traits drawn from the four material elements of the body. And through Your abundant mercies — take me out and raise me from the aspect of animal to the aspect of human [ mi'bchinas behaimah livchinas adam ]; from body to soul; from matter to form; from darkness to light; from folly to wisdom; from alien wisdoms and thoughts to the wisdoms of the holy Torah; from forgetfulness to memory [ mi'shichechah l'zikaron ]. And pour upon me from Yourself the power of memory [ koach ha'zikaron ] — and may I merit to always remember well all the words of Your Torah and Your service: both what I study in the holy books; and what I have heard or am destined to hear from the mouths of my teachers and my companions — all the holy words that pertain to the awe of Hashem and His service and His Torah. All of them may I merit to always remember well through the holy power of memory, from now and forever — and may I never forget anything from my learning. And may I merit to always remember well — very well — my end and my final destination; and may I set my heart well upon that for which I have come into this lowly world; and what will be at my end and my final destination when my end arrives. And may I never forget this all the days of my life — and may I merit to remember this well every single day: for all our days and our years are vanity; they fly away like a dream; like a passing shadow; like a cloud that dissolves; like a blowing wind; like floating dust. And it is impossible to escape from death in any manner — and there is no discharge in the war. What shall we devise against Hashem — and what shall we do on the day of punishment? [ Nahum 1:9 ]. Surely I shall remember — and my soul shall be humbled over me [ Lamentations 3:20 ]. Remember — do not forget — that you angered Hashem your G‑d from your youth until this very day [ Deuteronomy 9:7 ]. For there is no forgetting before the Throne of His glory and nothing is hidden from before His eyes. Help me and save me to always remember all this — in such a manner that I merit to have mercy upon myself from now to rescue my soul from the pit; and to prepare provisions for my journey: the way is distant, and even light provisions we have none [ Aramaic: orcha rechika va'afilu zavdin kalila leis lan ]. And help me through Your abundant mercies — that I merit to forget every kind of alien thought: alien thoughts and alien wisdoms; and every kind of evil musing and crookedness of the heart that have attached themselves to my heart and mind through my many iniquities; and every kind of thought that confuses [one away] from Your true service. All of them may I merit through Your abundant mercies to pass from my mind and heart completely — and to forget them completely, from now and forever. And from now may I merit to always remember You at every time — in my sitting in my house and my walking on the way, in my lying down and my rising up; and to attach my thought always toward You and to Your Torah and Your service in truth, in awe and in love, in great holiness and purity, in truth and in complete faith. And may I merit that my heart and my thought be attached to You and to Your Torah and Your commandments in truth — with a great cleaving and with a very firm and strong bond; until I merit to remember well all the words of Your Torah and Your service always forever — and may I never forget anything from the words of Torah and service forever. Rather may I merit to remember them always in this world and in the World to Come.

And therefore — may it be the will before You, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers; G‑d of Avraham, G‑d of Yitzchak, and G‑d of Yaakov; and G‑d of all the true tzadikim , first and last; and G‑d of all Your holy people Israel; our Father — the Compassionate Father Who knows all the hidden things of the heart: that You have mercy upon me through Your abundant mercies; and grace me from Yourself with knowledge, understanding, and discernment [ de'ah, binah, v'haskel ]. And may You instruct me and guide me in Your truth always — and grant me merit at every time to know in truth the straight path: how to conduct myself in the matter of voluntary fasts [ taaniyos nedavah ] — whether to fast or to desist. And may You grant me merit to know the truth truly — and to conduct myself in the way of truth as Your good will desires; for my heart wanders to and fro in this matter. Therefore I cast myself upon You alone — and I hereby surrender my body and my soul and my spirit and my neshamah to You alone: that You do with me as You will; and as Your will — so shall I do. And help me not to confuse my mind greatly in this matter — but may I always merit to a complete counsel quickly; and may You pour upon me a good counsel from Yourself as Your good will desires in truth. And may I merit to know and understand how to conduct myself in the matter of fasts — and how to conduct myself in all the matters of the world; in such a manner that I merit to turn from evil and to humble the body and the matter in relation to the soul and the form; and to engage in Your Torah and Your service always in truth as Your good will desires from now and forever. Let me hear in the morning Your lovingkindness — for in You I have trusted; let me know the way wherein I shall walk — for to You I have lifted my soul [ Psalms 143:8 ]. And therefore — may it be the will before You, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers: that You help me to give much charity to many fitting poor people; and have compassion upon me through Your mercies and Your great and immense lovingkindnesses; and help me to give much charity to the Land of Israel [ Eretz Yisrael ] — to support and to assist substantially and practically the many fitting poor who dwell in the Land of Israel. And may I merit through this to be absorbed in the air of the Land of Israel [ avira d'Eretz Yisrael ] — in the holy air; in the air and breath that contains no sin [ hevel she'ein bo cheit ]. And may we merit through this to sweeten and nullify every kind of judgment from upon us and from upon all Your people the House of Israel. And may we always merit to repel and nullify the judgment and the darkness and the folly and every kind of alien wisdom from the world. And help us to prevail and raise and exalt the holy soul and the holy Torah — and may You illuminate upon us the light of the holy wisdom; and draw upon us good lovingkindnesses from Yourself always; and may we merit to holy memory [ zikaron dikdushah ]. And may You pour upon us from Yourself an overflow of goodness and blessing, life, grace and lovingkindness, mercy and peace and all good. And through Your abundant mercies may You remember for us the covenant of our fathers Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov. And may You fulfill for us the verse: And I shall remember My covenant of Yaakov — and also My covenant of Yitzchak; and also My covenant of Avraham shall I remember; and the Land shall I remember [ Leviticus 26:42 ].

And help us that we merit to elevate and raise our soul before You — and may we merit to sanctify and adorn our soul in such a manner that our soul can ascend to the Shechinah in the aspect of feminine waters [ mayin nukvin ]. And may the Shechinah be glorified before You with our souls: See with what she has come before You [ Aramaic: chazi bameh ber'ah ka'asina l'gabach ]. And may we merit that the unification of the Holy One blessed be He and His Shechinah [ yichud Kudsha Brich Hu u'Shechintei ] be made — through our souls that ascend favorably before You as a sweet savor, a fire-offering to Hashem.

And grant us merit that our eating always be in great holiness and purity — and in particular when we eat something from the living: may You help us to sanctify ourselves more greatly in the hour of our eating; until we merit to raise the soul clothed within the living creature that we eat — to raise the soul from the level of the living [ chai ] to the speaking [ midaber ]: through the blessing that we recite over our eating. And may we merit to recite all the blessings with great and immense intention for Your great Name in truth.
ד טֵבֵת
And guard us and save us through Your abundant mercies from forbidden foods — and may nothing forbidden to us enter our mouths; and may we never stumble in carcasses and torn animals [ neveilos u'treifos ], even in error and under compulsion. And save us through Your mercies from slaughterers who are not fitting — and separate us and distinguish us from every kind of carcass and torn animal, both Torah-level and rabbinic-level [ d'Oraisa u'd'Rabbanan ]. And appoint for us through Your mercies always fitting and valid slaughterers [ shochatim hagunimv'ksheirim ]; and be with them always; and guard them and us — that Your people Israel never stumble through them in carcasses and torn animals, G‑d forbid. And help the slaughterers to always intend well in the blessing of slaughter [ birchas hashechitah ] — in such a manner that they merit to raise the soul clothed within the living creature: from the living to the speaking; until all the oppressed souls that are reincarnated [ misgalgalim ] in beasts and birds and animals ascend to the Shechinah . And may the unification of the Holy One blessed be He and His Shechinah be made through them. And may we merit that through this an overflow of goodness and blessing and mercy and life and peace be drawn upon us — and may we merit to a good livelihood in honor without any effort or strain or burden at all. Our Father in Heaven — Who bestows good things upon the guilty; Who renders good lovingkindnesses: You know that we have no power to guard ourselves from unfitting slaughterers who are now very prevalent; and there is no one to stand up for us and to strive for the rectification of our souls; and to save us from the blemish of unfitting slaughterers who cause what they cause — may the Merciful One protect us. Master of the Universe — have mercy upon us for the sake of Your Name; and for the sake of the Shechinah of Your might; and for the sake of our fathers Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov; and for the sake of all the true tzadikim . And help us and save us and rescue and deliver us from evil slaughterers — from slaughterers who are not fitting. And guard us always that no stumbling-block of carcass or torn animal enter our mouths — for You are all-capable and nothing is withheld from You in Your planning [ lo yibazeir mimcha mezimah ]; and all is in Your hand. And You can guard us even now in these generations from carcasses and torn animals and from unfitting slaughterers. Have pity and compassion upon us for Your sake and not for our sake — and sanctify us in Your holiness; and distinguish us from forbidden foods; as it is written: And I distinguished you from the peoples — to be Mine [ Leviticus 20:26 ]. And may we merit to fulfill the verse: And you shall be holy men unto Me — and flesh torn in the field you shall not eat; to the dog you shall cast it [ Exodus 22:30 ]. And it is written: And you shall sanctify yourselves and be holy — for I am holy [ Leviticus 11:44 ]. And may the verse be fulfilled: He gave prey to those who fear Him — He shall remember His covenant forever [ Psalms 111:5 ].

And help us through Your abundant mercies — and appoint for us good and fitting teachers for our children, who shall be engaged faithfully in their craft; to teach much to our children in the most beneficial manner in truth. And may all the teachers of children [ melamdei tinokos ] be fitting and righteous men — who shall not corrupt, G‑d forbid, the holy breath of the schoolchildren [ hevel hakadosh shel hatinokos shel beis rabban ]: which is the breath of the mouth that contains no sin [ hevel peh she'ein bo cheit ]. And may the holy breath of the schoolchildren rise and appear and find favor and be heard before You. And through this may You remember the covenant of our fathers — and may You sweeten and nullify from upon us and from upon all Your people the House of Israel: all the judgments and all the decrees that are not good — that have been decreed upon Your people Israel, whether in general or in particular; whether before the final verdict or after the final verdict: all of them may You sweeten and nullify in the merit of the breath of the mouth that contains no sin of the schoolchildren. And grant us merit through Your abundant mercies and sanctify us in Your supernal holiness — and grant us merit to return in complete repentance before You in truth with all our heart and soul. And may we merit to repair all that we have corrupted; and may we merit to prevail the soul over the body — until the body is completely nullified in relation to the soul. And may we merit to give much charity to the Land of Israel — until we are absorbed in the air of the Land of Israel, in the holy breath that contains no sin; until we all — Your people the House of Israel — merit that the breath of our mouth be a breath that contains no sin: like the air of the Land of Israel, and like the breath of the mouth of the schoolchildren. And help the slaughterers to sanctify and purify themselves in truth — until the breath of their mouth too be a breath that contains no sin; in such a manner that they can raise the reincarnated souls within the living creatures to their holy root through the breath of their mouth in the blessing of slaughter. For You know the immensity of the compassion there is for the souls reincarnated within living creatures — have pity through Your mercies upon them and upon us. And act for Your sake — and help us and save us: that we merit to raise all the reincarnated souls to their supernal root in holiness.

Merciful One full of mercy — Who takes pity upon the poor; Who hears the cry of the destitute: have mercy upon us and upon our oppressed souls — like birds caught in the trap; as is revealed before You Who knows the hidden things. And help me to rescue my soul from the pit; for You know the immensity of the precious value and the splendor and glory of my soul in its supernal root. And You also know the multitude of filth and defilement with which I have defiled and contaminated my very degraded soul. And revealed before You is the immensity of the compassion there is for my very miserable soul — so weary; so crushed and bewildered between the teeth of the young lions. They have opened their mouths upon us and said: we have swallowed them up. And we have been crying out to You for such a long time — and there is no one who can save us; for we ourselves have been cruel toward our own souls. But You are able to save our souls through the force of Your compassion — that You turn our heart for good and incline our heart toward You in truth; and give us intellect and holy knowledge [ da'as dikdushah ] and power and might and counsel: in such a manner that we merit to prevail the soul over the body always — until the body and its desires are completely nullified. And may I merit to raise and exalt my soul always in Your supernal holiness — in truth and in complete faith. Our Father — Compassionate Father: have compassion upon the honor of the holy Torah that You have bestowed within us. For You know the immensity of the beauty and holiness of the precious Torah hidden within us. Help us through Your abundant mercies — that we merit from now to purify and sanctify ourselves in truth; in such a manner that we merit to take out and reveal the Torah hidden within us — in great holiness. And save us from disgraces and contempts — and may we not be put to shame and not be humiliated and not stumble forever. And grant us merit to holy honor [ kavod dikdushah ] — and may we merit to receive the honor in great holiness for Your Name and for Your great glory alone; and may we not use the honor for our own sake at all — but only for Your Name and Your service alone, in truth and in sincerity, without any false intention or alien thought at all. And may we merit to return and raise the honor to its root. And help us through the holy honor — that You be gracious to us through Your mercies; that we merit through this to take out and reveal many Torah novellae [ chidushei Torah harbeh ] hidden in our souls, in great holiness and purity. And be with us always — and may we not say any word that is not Your will; and may You be with our mouth in the time of our speaking and with our hands in the time of our doing. Master of the Universe — have pity upon my poor and destitute soul — very hungry and thirsty and exhausted. And fill my requests with mercy: that my soul prevail over my body from now and forever; and may my soul rise and be exalted higher and higher — in great holiness and purity, in truth and in complete faith, in wisdom and understanding and holy knowledge, in Torah and service, in awe and in love and in complete repentance before You, in truth and with a whole heart as Your good will desires. Return, my soul, to your resting-place — for Hashem has dealt bountifully with you [ Psalms 116:7 ]. For You have released my soul from death — my eye from tears; my foot from stumbling. I shall walk before Hashem in the lands of the living [ Psalms 116:8–9 ]. For You shall not abandon my soul to the grave — You shall not permit Your pious one to see the pit [ Psalms 16:10 ]. He restores my soul — He guides me in paths of righteousness for the sake of His Name [ Psalms 23:3 ]. For the sake of Your Name, Hashem — revive me; in Your righteousness take my soul out of trouble [ Psalms 143:11 ]. And in Your lovingkindness cut off my enemies — and destroy all those who distress my soul; for I am Your servant [ Psalms 143:12 ]. And my soul shall exult in Hashem — it shall rejoice in His salvation [ Psalms 35:9 ]. Take my soul out of imprisonment — to give thanks to Your Name; for the righteous shall crown themselves through me; for You shall deal bountifully with me [ Psalms 142:8 ].
