יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהִים אֱמֶת, עָזְרֵנִי בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִן הַשֶּׁקֶר וֶהְיֵה עִמִּי תָמִיד, וְשָׁמְרֵנִי שֶׁלֹּא יֵצֵא שׁוּם דְּבַר שֶׁקֶר מִפִּי לְעוֹלָם, בֵּין בְּשׁוֹגֵג בֵּין בְּמֵזִיד בֵּין בְּאֹנֶס בֵּין בְּרָצוֹן. וְתַעַזְרֵנִי שֶׁלֹּא אֶהְיֶה נִכְשָׁל בְּשׁוּם דְּבַר שֶׁקֶר אֲפִלּוּ בְּטָעוּת, זַכֵּנִי לֶאֱמֶת בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הַגְּדוֹלִים. חוּס וַחֲמֹל עָלַי וְהַעֲלֵנִי מִטֻּמְאָה לְטָהֳרָה מֵחֹל לְקֹדֶשׁ, קַדְּשֵׁנִי בִּקְדֻשָּׁתְךָ הָעֶלְיוֹנָה בֶּאֱמֶת, חַלְּצֵנִי יְהֹוָה מֵאָדָם רָע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי. כָּל מִצְוֹתֶיךָ אֱמוּנָה שֶׁקֶר רְדָפוּנִי עָזְרֵנִי. יְהֹוָה הַצִּילָה נַפְשִׁי מִשְׂפַת שֶׁקֶר מִלָּשׁוֹן רְמִיָּה. דֶּרֶךְ שֶׁקֶר הָסֵר מִמֶּנִּי וְתוֹרָתְךָ חָנֵּנִי. לֹא יֵשֵׁב בְּקֶרֶב בֵּיתִי עֹשֵׂה רְמִיָּה דּוֹבֵר שְׁקָרִים לֹא יִכּוֹן לְנֶגֶד עֵינָי. חָנֵּנִי וַעֲנֵנִי וּפְדֵה נַפְשִׁי הָאֻמְלָלָה מִן הָרַע וּמִן הַטֻּמְאָה וּמִן הַשֶּׁקֶר, וְתֵן לִי בְּמַתְּנַת חִנָּם אֱמֶת וָחֶסֶד, וְתַשְׁפִּיעַ עָלַי מֵאִתְּךָ קְדֻשָּׁה וְטָהֳרָה אֱמֶת וָטוֹב. הַחֲזִירֵנִי בִּתְשׁוּבָה שְׁלֵמָה לְפָנֶיךָ בֶּאֱמֶת, וְזַכֵּנִי מֵעַתָּה לָצֵאת מְהֵרָה מֵרַע לְטוֹב, מִטֻּמְאָה לְטָהֳרָה, מִשֶּׁקֶר לֶאֱמֶת, וְאֶזְכֶּה לְעֶצֶם הָאֱמֶת לַאֲמִתּוֹ. וְתַמְשִׁיךְ הַשְׁגָּחָתְךָ הַשְּׁלֵמָה עָלֵינוּ, וְתַשְׁגִּיחַ עָלֵינוּ בִּשְׁלֵמוּת בְּעֵין הַחֶמְלָה וְהַחֲנִינָה עַד שֶׁנִזְכֶּה לְהִכָּלֵל בְּךָ בֶּאֱמֶת, וְיִתְאַחֲדוּ וְיֻכְלְלוּ אַחַר הַבְּרִיאָה בְּקֹדֶם הַבְּרִיאָה עַל־יְדֵי הַשְׁגָּחָתְךָ הַשְּׁלֵמָה, וְיִהְיֶה כֻּלּוֹ אֶחָד כֻּלּוֹ טוֹב כֻּלּוֹ קֹדֶשׁ כֻּלּוֹ אֱמֶת:
Hashem G‑d of truth — help me through Your abundant mercies and save me from falsehood; and be with me always. Guard me that no word of falsehood ever go forth from my mouth: neither in error nor in deliberation, neither under compulsion nor willingly. Help me that I not stumble in any word of falsehood even by mistake. Grant me merit to truth through Your great mercies. Have pity and compassion upon me — raise me up from impurity to purity, from the profane to the holy. Sanctify me in Your supernal holiness in truth. Deliver me, Hashem, from an evil man — guard me from men of violence [ Psalms 140:2 ]. All Your commandments are faith — they have pursued me with falsehood; help me [ Psalms 119:86 ]. Hashem, rescue my soul from a false lip — from a deceitful tongue [ Psalms 120:2 ]. Remove the way of falsehood from me — and grace me with Your Torah [ Psalms 119:29 ]. He who speaks falsehood shall not be established before my eyes [ Psalms 101:7 ]. Be gracious to me and answer me and redeem my miserable soul from the evil and from the impurity and from the falsehood — give me as a free gift truth and lovingkindness; and pour upon me from Yourself holiness and purity, truth and goodness. Return me in complete repentance before You in truth — and grant me merit from now to speedily go out from evil to good; from impurity to purity; from falsehood to truth. May I merit to the very essence of truth in absolute reality. And may You draw Your complete Providence [ hashgachah shleimah ] upon us — and watch over us with the eye of compassion and graciousness; until we merit to be absorbed in You in truth. And may after Creation be united and absorbed in before Creation [ achar haberiah b'kodem haberiah ] through Your complete Providence — and may it all be one, all good, all holy, all truth. And save me from every kind of opposition [ hisnagdus ] — that there be found in me no side of opposition, G‑d forbid, toward any holy thing; and not toward any fitting person in the world. Rather may I be truly absorbed in all the good and holy things — and may there be in me true love and simple unity with all the truly fitting people of the generation; and with all the true tzadikim ; and with all the good that is in the totality of Your holy people Israel. Until through being included in them I am absorbed in You, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — and may I merit to truly cleave to You and to be absorbed in Your unity always from now and forever, forever and for all eternity. And save me from the blemish of sight — and may You always sanctify my eyes; and may I not gaze upon any thing that blemishes the sight. Rather may I merit to gaze with my eyes upon Your Torah; and upon Your true tzadikim ; and upon all the things that sanctify the eyes. Until my eyes be holy and pure always in absolute truth — and may I speedily merit to repair all the blemishes that I blemished with my eyes. And help me through Your mercies and guard me from the corruption of the sense of sight — and may the light of my eyes never be dimmed; and even to old age and white hair do not forsake me. And guard the light of my eyes always — so that I may merit to meditate upon Your Torah day and night; and to banish sleep from my eyes; and may no harm or pain come to my eyes through this. And may my eyes shine like the sun and the moon. One and unique — bring us near to You in truth. And may You drive away and remove and nullify the falsehood and the evil and the impurity from the world. And may You speedily fulfill the verse: And the spirit of impurity I shall remove from the land [ Zechariah 13:2 ]. And may You purify us and sanctify us in every kind of purity and holiness. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: And I shall sprinkle upon you pure water and you shall be purified — from all your impurities and from all your idolatries I shall purify you [ Ezekiel 36:25 ]. And may You speedily reveal the truth in the world. And may there be fulfilled in our days: The lip of truth shall be established forever — but a false tongue is only for a moment [ Proverbs 12:19 ]. Truth shall spring from the earth — and righteousness shall look down from heaven [ Psalms 85:12 ]. Lovingkindness and truth have met — righteousness and peace have kissed [ Psalms 85:11 ]. Guide me in Your truth and teach me — for You are the G‑d of my salvation; in You do I hope all the day [ Psalms 25:5 ]. Teach me, Hashem, Your way — I shall walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your Name [ Psalms 86:11 ]. Send out Your light and Your truth — they shall lead me; they shall bring me to Your holy mountain and to Your dwelling [ Psalms 43:3 ]. Who is a G‑d like You — pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever — for He desires lovingkindness. He will again have mercy upon us — He will conquer our iniquities; and You shall cast into the depths of the sea all their sins. You shall give truth to Yaakov — lovingkindness to Avraham; as You swore to our fathers from ancient times [ Micah 7:18–20 ]. Return us to You, Hashem, and we shall return — renew our days as of old [ Lamentations 5:21 ]. Amen and Amen. My soul has yearned for You in the night — indeed my spirit within me seeks You at dawn [ Isaiah 26:9 ]. I remembered Your Name in the night, Hashem — and I kept Your Torah [ Psalms 119:55 ]. On my bed at night I sought the one whom my soul loves — I sought him and did not find him [ Song of Songs 3:1 ]. I recalled my melody in the night — I meditated with my heart; and my spirit searched [ Psalms 77:7 ]. Master of the Universe — Master of the entire universe; Master of all; One, unique and unified; was, is and shall be: You created Your world with Your good will for Israel Your holy people — for whose sake You created all the worlds entirely; in order to bring the souls of Israel into the world; so that they do Your will in truth and rule in the world. So that through their good deeds they be able to raise and to elevate all the worlds entirely — from the ultimate of Asiyah to the beginning of Atzilus ; to raise and to exalt them all to their supernal root; so that all the worlds be absorbed in Your simple unity, blessed and exalted forever and for all eternity. For You are [what You were] before You created the world — and You are [what You are] after You created the world. And therefore — may it be the will before You, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers: that You have mercy upon me and be in my help. And grant me merit to greatly multiply hisbodidus [secluded personal prayer] always — until I merit through the hisbodidus to completely nullify myself; until my very existence [ yeshusi ] be completely nullified and I be absorbed in Your unity in truth. And grant me merit through Your abundant mercies — and provide me with a specific place and specific time for hisbodidus . And may I merit to choose the finest place and the finest time for hisbodidus : which is at night — at the time when people are sleeping; and on a solitary path [ b'derech yechidi ]. That I merit each and every night to seclude myself in a specific place — to walk on a solitary path in a place where people do not walk even by day. And there I shall walk and seclude myself at night, and set forth all my speech before You; and all that is in my heart may I merit to explain and set forth before You with a full mouth explicitly. Until my heart truly awakens toward You with great longing — and with much and immense weeping and tears in torrents [ bidma'os shalish ]; to weep and to confess my many iniquities and transgressions; and to regret them in truth and with a whole heart. And to accept upon myself a complete and definitive commitment with a whole heart in truth — that I shall not return again to foolishness; and there shall be no deceit in my spirit at all. If I have wrought iniquity — I shall do so no more [ Job 34:32 ]. And may I merit to stir Your abundant mercies upon me — that You be gracious to me from Yourself as a free gift. And be in my help from now always — and may You guard me and save me through Your mercies from sins and iniquities and transgressions; and from all evil desires. And in particular from the blemish of the bris — which is the totality of the entire Torah. May You save me and guard me always through Your abundant mercies; through Your great mercies; through Your immense mercies. Until I merit through hisbodidus at night to completely nullify myself — to nullify every evil trait and every evil desire; until I am completely pure from all the desires and all the evil traits. And may I merit to nullify every kind of pride and arrogance and haughtiness from me — until I merit to arrive at the ultimate nullification in absolute truth as Your good will desires. Until I merit to be absorbed in Your unity in truth. And through this may the entire world be absorbed with my soul in Your simple unity — and may after Creation be united and absorbed in before Creation; and possible existence [ efshhari hametzius ] be absorbed in necessary existence [ chiyuv hametzius ]. And may we be cleaving and united and absorbed in You always in truth — and not be separated from You even for a fleeting moment. And may Your simple unity be revealed in the world — and may every creature know that You acted it; and every formed thing understand that You formed it; and all who have breath in their nostrils say: Hashem G‑d of Israel is King and His sovereignty rules over all. Help me! Help me! Be gracious to me! Be gracious to me! To greatly multiply in hisbodidus and in conversation between myself and my Maker — at night on a solitary path; until I merit to the ultimate nullification in truth; until I be absorbed in You in truth together with all the worlds entirely. And may we all return to You in truth and with a whole heart. And let us know — let us press on to know Hashem ; by day we shall not rest — by night we shall not be still [ cf. Hosea 6:3 ], until we merit to find You at every time. And may we merit to fulfill the commandment and to Him shall you cleave in truth and completeness as Your good will desires. Have pity and compassion upon us; have pity and have mercy; have pity and be gracious to us — and grant us merit to all that we have requested before You: that we merit to truly nullify ourselves until we all are absorbed in You, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers. For for this alone did You create all the worlds entirely — as You revealed to us through Your true tzadikim . Return us, G‑d of our salvation — and turn away Your anger from us [ Psalms 85:5 ]. Hashem G‑d of Hosts — return us; cause Your face to shine and we shall be saved [ Psalms 80:20 ]. Return me and I shall return — for You are my G‑d [ Jeremiah 31:18 ]. Return us to You, Hashem, and we shall return — renew our days as of old [ Lamentations 5:21 ]. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem, my Rock and my Redeemer [ Psalms 19:15 ]. You graciously endow man with knowledge [ da'as ] — and teach mankind understanding [ from Shemoneh Esrai ]. Be gracious to us from Yourself with wisdom, understanding and da'as . Master of the Universe — Blessed G‑d, great in knowledge: grant us merit through Your abundant mercies to complete and true da'as ; that I merit to perfect my da'as to the ultimate completeness — until my da'as be close and adjacent to the da'as of the blessed Name in the ultimate closeness; and there be no difference between them except in the five matters by which human da'as is distinguished from the da'as of the blessed Name — which it is impossible for any mortal to attain. And may I merit to always draw sustenance from the da'as of the blessed Name in the ultimate completeness. And grant me merit through Your abundant mercies — that I have a temperament blended in an even balance [ chomer mezugag b'mezeg hashaveh ] that is fitting to receive intellect. And may You pour upon me Your holy awe — and may the fear of Hashem be upon my face that I not sin; and may the fear of sin precede my wisdom [ yiras cheti kodemes l'chachmasi ]. And through this may my wisdom and da'as be sustained in the ultimate completeness. And grant me merit through Your abundant mercies and immense lovingkindnesses — to establish many fitting students; to illuminate them with holy true da'as ; to guide them on the straight path; to make known to them the way in which they shall walk and the deed they shall do — according to what we received from our holy teachers of blessed memory; in the path upon which our ancestors have walked from the beginning of the world; to illuminate them with sound and upright counsel; and to stir and awaken them from their slumber — to instill within them da'as and the fear of Heaven; in such a manner that they merit to return to You in truth with all their heart and all their soul and all their might. I shall teach transgressors Your ways — and sinners shall return to You [ Psalms 51:15 ]. And may You save me and guard me through Your abundant mercies — that no ulterior motive or outside thought, G‑d forbid, arise in my mind in the matter of drawing people near: for the sake of multiplying my own honor, G‑d forbid. Rather may all my intention be in truth for the sake of Your honor — in order to fulfill Your will. And may You give strength to one as weary as I am: to bear and to receive with love all the burdens and toils necessary for drawing people near to the service of the blessed Name. And may I merit to pursue them with all my power to draw them near to Your service — and all my intention shall be for Your Name alone in truth; in order to perfect my da'as in the ultimate completeness as Your good will desires. And through this may You grant me merit to beget living and enduring children — in holiness and purity for Your Name and Your service. And may You multiply our offspring like the sand of the sea and like the stars of heaven in abundance. And have mercy upon us and give us the power — that we merit to pray for barren women [ akaros ] and to visit them for good in our prayer. And may You teach us through Your abundant mercies how to pray for barren women — to visit them for good in a matter of salvation and mercy. And may You hear our prayer and attend to our plea — that all the barren women be visited for good swiftly and speedily; and may they bear through Your mercies living and enduring children. And may Your people the children of Israel multiply like the sand of the sea. And just as Your mercies overpowered for our first father — Avraham was one; and our mother Sarah: You remembered them for good and visited them in their old age; and gave them Yitzchak and promised to multiply his offspring like the stars of the heavens — so may Your innards and Your mercies now be moved for all the barren women of Your people the House of Israel; whose eyes look only to You: that You give them enduring offspring for Your service and Your awe. Have mercy upon them for Your sake — and visit them for good; fill their requests with mercy. And may You be entreated for them and hear their prayer — and give them pregnancy swiftly and speedily. And may they merit to bear enduring offspring — and may their father and mother rejoice in them; and may they merit to raise them to Torah and to the marriage canopy and to good deeds for length of days and good years. Master of the Universe — have pity and mercy upon us; be appeased and reconciled and placated by our prayer. Hear the voice of our entreaty — and perfect our da'as through Your abundant mercies. And may we merit to know You even in this world in the ultimate completeness — a completeness beyond which there is none. And to make known Your greatness and Your power to all who come into the world; to make known to the coming generations all the great and awesome deeds of Hashem — that we heard from our fathers and our holy teachers. Generation to generation shall praise Your works — and Your mighty deeds they shall declare [ Psalms 145:4 ]. A father to children shall make known Your truth [ Isaiah 38:19 ]. And may we merit to truly fulfill the verse: And you shall make them known to your children and to your children’s children [ Deuteronomy 4:9 ]. So that all the peoples of the earth know that Hashem — He is G‑d; there is none other [ Deuteronomy 4:35 ]. I recalled my melody in the night — I meditated with my heart; and my spirit searched [ Psalms 77:7 ]. I remembered Your Name in the night, Hashem — and I kept Your Torah [ Psalms 119:55 ]. I recall the deeds of G‑d — for I remember Your wonder of old [ Psalms 77:12 ]. I remember the days of old — I meditate on all Your work; on the deeds of Your hands I muse [ Psalms 143:5 ]. When my spirit was faint upon me — I remembered Hashem [ Psalms 142:4 ]. My soul surely remembers and bows down within me [ Lamentations 3:20 ]. Remember what You did with us [ Deuteronomy 9:7 ]. [Addressing oneself:] I shall answer and say to my soul: Remember! Do not forget — that there is a World to Come [ alma d’atei ]; and there is no permanence at all in this world. For this world passes in the blink of an eye — like a passing shadow; like floating dust; like a cloud that dissolves; like a blowing wind; like a dream that flies. And the essence of life and the essence of one’s permanent dwelling-place is only in the World to Come. Have compassion upon yourself and guard this memory well — that you always remember every day the World to Come; and do not forget. Attach your thought to the World to Come — and may the memory of the World to Come never move from your thoughts. Contemplate yourself well, truly in absolute truth — remember; and give your heart: what will you do at your end? It is distressing to me for you, my brother — awaken, my brother, from the sleep of your foolishness! Have compassion upon your soul — and remember your Creator in the days of your youth. And therefore I have come before You, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers — to cast my supplication before Your true mercies: that You grant me merit to guard this memory well; that I always remember the World to Come — and to attach my thought solely to the World to Come in general and in particular. And every single day when I awaken from my sleep — immediately, as soon as I open my eyes: may I merit to immediately remember the World to Come — which is the world that stands and endures forever; while this world is vanity and emptiness. And there is no gain for a person in all his toil that he toils in the affairs of this world — and there is no end or purpose or good in the world except to always pursue the attainment of the World to Come. And grant me merit to remember this well with the power of the holy memory [ zikaron dikdushah ]. And afterwards may I merit to fulfill this in particularity — that I merit to understand at every time and every hour and every place in the world: all the hints that You hint to me at every time to draw near to Your service in truth. For through Your great lovingkindness You contract Your G‑dliness from the beginning-point of Creation — which is the beginning of Atzilus — to the final center-point of this physical world of Asiyah ; from the infinite to the most humble extent. And You contract and send hints to every person in every place and at every time — to draw him near to Your service; according to the place and the hour and the person. Help me and grant me merit — and open my mind: that I merit to truly understand these hints well; so that I merit to return to You in truth and to be as Your will desires always. And may You instruct me and teach me through Your great lovingkindness — that I merit to know and understand how to broaden my da’as in the matter of these hints; and how to constrain my da’as in holiness — so as not to go beyond the measure; that I not seek in what is too wondrous for me and not investigate what is hidden from me. Rather in what I have been permitted may I merit to contemplate and to broaden my da’as gradually and in measure according to my level — to always understand at every time and every hour all the hints that You hint to me always through Your mercies; through all the things in the world: in all of which Your intention is nothing but to hint to me through them — to draw near to Your service in truth. And grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to the attribute of contentment [ midas hahistaplus ] — that I merit to be satisfied with the little of this world; and not use the affairs of this world except what is absolutely necessary — in the utmost measure and contentment; in great holiness and purity for Your Name and Your memory alone. And even when You grant me merit to the expansion of da’as in truth — even so may I not be inclined, G‑d forbid, to multiply involvement in the affairs of this world. Rather to be satisfied with very little in great measure — only with the absolute necessity alone; and in great holiness and purity for Your Name alone in truth. And my main occupation shall be solely in the service of Hashem — to engage all my days in Torah and prayer and good deeds. And help me that even from this contentment that You provide me with — I merit to separate from it charity [ tzedakah ]. And may I merit to fulfill the verse: Good is the man who is gracious and lends — he will sustain his affairs with justice [ Psalms 112:5 ]. And may I merit to greatly multiply in charity to many fitting poor people — and through my charity I merit to unite the Holy One blessed be He and His Shechinah [ Yichud Kudsha Brich Hu u’Shechintei ] in a complete unification in the name of all Israel. Master of the Universe — Hashem my G‑d: You are very great — You have clothed Yourself with majesty and glory. Wrapped in light as a garment — stretching out the heavens like a curtain [ Psalms 104:1–2 ]. You know that I am more brutish than any man and have no human understanding. Therefore I have come to spread out my palms before You, my King and my G‑d — that You grant us merit through Your mercies: that all these rectifications be accomplished for us automatically through the occupations and the mitzvos that we engage in every day. And be in my help — and grant me merit to draw great holiness upon myself before sleep; until I merit to sleep in great holiness and purity; and may my sleep be pleasant to me. Until I merit through sleep — that my soul ascend and cleave to the World to Come; and may my thought always be cleaving to the World to Come. And help me and grant me merit to fulfill every day the commandments of tzitzis , tefillin , the recitation of Shema , and prayer — to the ultimate completeness; with a good heart and great joy and self-sacrifice; in holiness and purity and great and immense intention; with all their particulars and minutiae and intentions and the 613 commandments dependent upon them. And grant me merit to engage in the Torah each and every day in great holiness and great joy. And afterwards may You lead me through Your righteousness to engage in commerce in complete faith [ b’emunah shleimah ] — until I merit to clarify holy clarifications and to complete my soul and spirit and neshamah through all the things that I buy and sell. And may I merit to know and to intend to buy and sell every thing in its time and appointed time — at the time when the hour has come for the thing to pass from my possession to another’s or vice versa; according to the holy sparks [ nitzotzos kedoshim ] that are in that thing; and according to the portions of my nefesh , ruach , and neshamah . In such a manner that the portions of my nefesh , ruach , and neshamah be completed through the commerce — until I merit to make the unification of the Holy One blessed be He and His Shechinah [ Yichud Kudsha Brich Hu u’Shechintei ] through my commerce and through all my occupations. And may we merit that all the supernal rectifications and unifications be accomplished for us automatically — in such a manner that we merit to the holy memory [ zikaron dikdushah ]; to attach thought to the World to Come always in general and in particular. And guard me and save me from forgetfulness — which is the death of the heart [ mitas halev ]; that I not forget my purpose and my end; and may I never divert my mind from the remembrance of the World to Come.

And therefore — may it be the will before You, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers: that You see our affliction and our pressing need and our toil. And may You gaze upon us through Your mercies — and watch over us with Your eye of compassion; and guard us through Your good mercies. And save us always from the evil eye — that we have no evil eye upon any person in the world. Rather may we always look upon each and every one with a good eye [ ayin tovah ]. And may we merit to be from the disciples of our father Avraham, may he rest in peace — in whom there are three good attributes: a good eye, a humble soul [ nefesh shefalah ], and a lowly spirit [ ruach nemukah ]. And guard us and save us from the disciples of wicked Bilam — in whom there are three evil attributes: an evil eye, a haughty spirit, and a broad soul [ nefesh rechavah ]. Our Father, our King — our Mighty One, our Creator, our Redeemer, our Fashioner, our Holy One, Holy One of Yaakov, our Shepherd, Shepherd of Israel; the good King Who does good for all — truly good of eye: grant me merit through Your abundant mercies that I merit to truly always be good of eye. And may You save us through Your abundant mercies from the evil eye — that no evil eye from any person or any created being in the world have any dominion over us; and may the evil eye have no power or dominion; and may it not be able to harm us at all, G‑d forbid — neither in the physical nor in the spiritual. Master of the Universe! Master of the Universe! Full of mercy — good and doing good for all; good of eye: You alone know the intensity of the strengthening of the evil eye that greatly overpowers us — whose eye is evil against the holiness of Israel the holy people. And every single day it overpowers us even more with many devices — to distance us, G‑d forbid, from Your true service; and it greatly pursues us. Full of mercy, full of good — You know our heart. You know all that has passed over us through the evil eye of the enemies and foes who pursue those who come to truly draw near to Your service and Your Torah. And You also know the great extent of our weakness to stand against their evil eye. And now — make known to us, our Father in Heaven: where shall we flee from them? And where is there a place to hide and conceal ourselves from their evil eye? Look upon our affliction — for our pains and the sorrows of our heart are many. Incline, my G‑d, Your ear and hear — open Your eyes and see our desolation [ Daniel 9:18 ]. For not on account of our own righteousness do we cast our supplications before You — but on account of Your abundant mercies. For we know in truth that we ourselves are guilty in all this — for were it not for our many and immense sins we would have had no need to fear them at all. But what can we do, our Father — for we have acted very foolishly. We sinned, transgressed, and acted wickedly — and we turned aside from Your commandments. Many times You saved us and we rebelled against Your counsel; and You melted us in the hand of our iniquity. And despite all this we desire and long and wait and hope at every time to draw near to Your true service — for You desire repentance; for You are gracious and merciful and close to all who call upon You in truth. And now — save us please through Your mercies from the evil eye; for we have no power at all to stand against even one of our enemies. And we have no one to lean upon but our Father in Heaven. To You alone my eyes look; to You alone my eyes watch. My eyes have wept toward the heights — perhaps Hashem will see my eyes; perhaps He will have pity; perhaps He will have mercy. Look and have mercy and save please the flock of Your pasture — and may the evil eye have no dominion over us at all. Look from the heavens and see that we have become a mockery and a taunt. Look from the heavens and see from the abode of Your holiness and Your glory — where is Your zeal and Your might? The stirring of Your innards and Your mercies toward me — they have been restrained [ Isaiah 63:15 ]. Full of mercy; good for all; good and doing good; good and doing good for the evil and for the good; truly good always — the Good One, for His mercies have not ceased — and the Merciful One, for His lovingkindnesses have not ended [ Lamentations 3:22 ]. Have mercy upon us through Your abundant mercies — and save us from the evil eye from every aspect: both that we have no evil eye at all; and that no evil eye from any person or created being in the world have dominion over us. And may You look upon me with Your good eye — with the one compassionate eye [ b’eina chada d’rachamei ]. And may You draw and pour upon me a good eye — and guard me and save me that my eye be not evil at all toward the greatness of my fellow or the greatness of the entire world. And save me from the blemish of sight — and guard me always that I not gaze at any thing that leads to evil musings, G‑d forbid; and not at any thing that blemishes the eyes. Turn away my eyes from seeing vanity — in Your way revive me [ Psalms 119:37 ]. Save me from an adulterous eye. Guard my soul and save me — let me not be ashamed for I have taken refuge in You [ Psalms 25:20 ]. And all that I sinned and transgressed and blemished with my eyes — in error and in deliberation, under compulsion and willingly: for all of it may You forgive and atone for me — O G‑d of forgiveness, gracious One Who multiplies forgiveness. And may You grant me merit from now to be good of eye in every aspect — in great holiness and purity as Your good will desires in truth. And therefore — may it be the will before You, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers: that You save me from lashon hara and the dust of lashon hara — and may I not bring out slander against any Israelite in the world; whether great or small. And may no evil utterance go forth from my mouth against any Israelite in the world. And save me and guard me that I not blemish my da’as at all. And grant me merit to holy love [ ahavah dikdushah ] — and save me from fallen loves; from evil loves. And help me and save me and grant me merit and give me the power to shatter the imaginative faculty [ koach hamidameh ] — which is the animalistic power. That I speedily merit to shatter all the animalistic desires from me. And guard me from the errors that come through the imaginative faculty — that I never err from the truth through the error of the imaginative faculty, G‑d forbid. And grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to holy joy — that I merit to always be in joy. And may You give me the power to gather and clarify the good spirit from the sorrowful spirit; from the evil spirit; from spiritual sadness [ atzbus ruach ]. And grant me merit to the ten holy types of melody — until I merit to purify and clarify the imaginative faculty; to humble and nullify the evil in the imaginative faculty; and to clarify and raise up the good in it to holiness. And may I merit to humble and shatter and drive away and nullify from me the evil spirit; the spirit of folly; the spirit of sadness; the sorrowful spirit. And may You speedily grant me merit to the holy good spirit — for You are my G‑d: Your good spirit shall lead me in a level land [ Psalms 143:10 ]. Create in me a pure heart, G‑d — and renew a steadfast spirit within me [ Psalms 51:12 ]. Do not cast me away from before You — and Your holy spirit do not take from me [ Psalms 51:13 ]. And guard me and save me through Your abundant mercies from drawing near to and associating with Torah scholars who are not fitting in their deeds — and may I not hear any word of Torah from those Torah scholars who have not yet merited to clarify the imaginative faculty: whose Torah novellae [ chidushim ] are all drawn from the imaginative faculty mixed with good and evil — with the evil more than the good. Through whose novellae the holy livelihood and abundance are corrupted, G‑d forbid. Save me from them; guard me from them. Grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to draw near to and associate with true tzadikim — whose entire Torah novellae are drawn from holiness; from the good spirit; from the spirit of prophecy; from the holy spirit; without any mixture of any dross whatsoever. And be gracious to me from Yourself with knowledge, understanding, and discernment — and sanctify me in Your supernal holiness. And help me — that I also merit to innovate in the Torah true novellae drawn from holiness; and help me that all of them be pure good without any grasp of evil, G‑d forbid — and without any dross whatsoever. Be gracious to me and redeem me and grant me merit speedily — that I merit to purify and sanctify myself in truth. And may I merit to shatter the imaginative faculty and nullify it and drive it away from me. And give me power and counsel and force to shatter and nullify from me all the imaginary desires; the animalistic desires. And guard me and save me from the sin of lashon hara and the dust of lashon hara ; and from every kind of blemish of speech; and from every kind of blemish of the bris . In such a manner that I merit to holiness and purity in truth — until I merit to true holy Torah novellae as Your good will desires. My Father in Heaven — save me from the imaginary good [ tov hamidumeh ] that is bitter in the end like wormwood and gall. Grant me merit to Your true good — sate me from Your eternal goodness. And grant me merit to always be in joy. And may I raise the voice of song and melody for Your Name and Your service in truth as Your good will desires — and may I merit to always stir and reveal all the ten types of melody. And grant me merit to hear the voice of holy melody and song in the joy of a commandment — from a fitting and good musician who knows how to play upon the harp and musical instruments: holy melodies drawn from the harp of David; beautiful of voice and playing well. In such a manner that through the musician on the musical instruments — the good spirit, the spirit of prophecy, the holy spirit, the spirit of joy and delight, be clarified from spiritual sadness; from the sorrowful spirit; from the evil spirit. Until we merit to a truly good spirit — and to always be in joy. And may we merit to return to You in complete repentance and with a truly broken heart — coming from within holy joy and melody. Until I merit to pour out my heart like water before the face of Hashem in my supplication and request. And may I merit to set forth all my speech before You with all my heart and soul — and with great weeping from within joy. And help me and save me — that I merit to arise every night at exactly midnight; and may midnight never pass over me in sleep; rather may I merit to stir and arise every night at exactly midnight all the days of my life forever — a statute that shall not pass. And may I then merit to strengthen myself like a lion to engage in Torah and service in truth. Awake, my glory; awake, the lute and harp — I shall awaken the dawn [ Psalms 57:9 ]. And grant us merit to living and enduring male children — who engage in Your Torah and fulfill Your commandments and do Your will all their days forever: they and their children and their children’s children unto eternity. And may our memory endure for generations of generations until the end of all generations. And guard them and save them from every sin and iniquity and guilt — may You extend their days and years; and may they exalt Your Name forever. Our Father in Heaven — fill our requests with mercy; and save us from the imaginative faculty and from the death of the heart and from forgetfulness and from the evil eye in every aspect. Remember us, Hashem, with the favor of Your people — recall us with Your salvation: to see the good of Your chosen ones; to rejoice in the joy of Your nation; to glorify oneself with Your heritage [ Psalms 106:4–5 ]. Why would You forget us forever — forsake us for so long? Return us to You, Hashem, and we shall return — renew our days as of old [ Lamentations 5:20–21 ]. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem, my Rock and my Redeemer [ Psalms 19:15 ]. I shall lift up my eyes to the mountains — from where will my help come? My help is from Hashem — Maker of heaven and earth [ Psalms 121:1–2 ]. Master of the Universe — G‑d of Avraham, G‑d of Yitzchak, and G‑d of Yaakov: act for the sake of the merit of our fathers — and grant me merit to come to the Land of Israel swiftly and speedily. And help us and save us and grant us merit that the holiness of the Land of Israel be revealed even now in this bitter exile — for through our many iniquities the Land of Israel is under the hand of the Sitra Achra . Even so — in the merit of our fathers Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov: may You reveal its immense holiness even now. And through this may we merit to cast down our enemies beneath us. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet [ Psalms 110:1 ]. Hashem — how many are my tormentors; many rise up against me [ Psalms 3:2 ]. Many say about my soul: there is no salvation for him in G‑d, Selah [ Psalms 3:3 ]. All who see me mock me — they curl the lip; they shake the head [ Psalms 22:8 ]. They hissed and gnashed their teeth — they said: we have swallowed him up. And their eyes are sharpened against us — they look and see upon me and their eye is evil against us all the day. Master of the Universe — Knower of hidden things: You know the great intensity of their extremely evil eye that seeks to overpower us. And I am a worm and no man — despised and rejected; blemished and corrupted; ruined and destroyed; afflicted and tormented; bewildered and confused; weak in strength; lacking knowledge; utterly distanced. Where shall I flee? Where am I compelled? What counsel? What device shall I seek — to receive the power to stand in the lines of battle? G‑d has found my iniquity [ Genesis 44:16 ]. Unto You, Hashem, is righteousness — and unto us is shame of face, as on this day [ Daniel 9:7 ]. My eyes have wept toward the heights; my eyes have wept toward the heights. My eyes look to You; my eyes hope toward You. I lift up my eyes to You Who dwell in the heavens [ Psalms 123:1 ]. My eyes have wept toward the heights — Hashem, I am oppressed; be my guarantor [ Isaiah 38:14 ]. My eyes are always toward Hashem — for He shall bring out my feet from the net [ Psalms 25:15 ]. Guard my soul and save me — let me not be ashamed for I have taken refuge in You [ Psalms 25:20 ]. And therefore — help me through Your abundant mercies and immense lovingkindnesses; and instruct me and teach me the straight and correct path; in such a manner that I merit to be rescued from the poison of the evil eyes of the enemies and the foes. And grant us merit and teach us — that we merit to cleave to Your holy attributes; and may we merit to always judge all the wicked and all the enemies and foes — to always judge them all to the scale of merit; and to strive with all our might to always find merit in them. And may You extend Your great hand — and hold judgment in Your hand; and rescue them from their judgment for a long time. And through the shadow of Your holy hand may You cover over us and save us from the poison of their evil eyes. And in the shadow of Your wings may You hide us. And may You dim and darken the light of the eyes of the wicked through the shadow of Your holy hand — in such a manner that the poison of their evil eyes has no power at all to harm us. And may You place a curtain and a dividing partition between their evil eyes and us. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: And in the shadow of My hand I have covered you [ Isaiah 51:16 ]. And may You strengthen the light of our eyes and sanctify our eyes in every kind of holiness. And help me and guard me that I not gaze at any thing that blemishes the sight — and do not abandon me and do not forsake me in their hands, G‑d forbid. Help us that the light of our eyes grow strong in holiness and great purity — until we have the power to see from afar. And may we merit and live and see and attain Your righteousness and the straightness of Your way — and may we know and understand that Hashem is righteous; even when the wicked prospers in judgment. And through this may our faith grow strong — and may we merit to believe in You, Hashem our G‑d, with all our heart and soul. And may You strip our heart from the crookedness [ akmimiyu ] in our hearts — and may You remove from us every kind of crookedness in our hearts; and may You straighten our heart to believe in You in complete faith without any crookedness at all. And may I merit to strengthen myself through the completeness of the holy faith — to pray for all my needs before You, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers. And all that is in my heart may I set forth and recount before You — in truth and sincerity and uprightness of heart, without any guile or crookedness whatsoever. And may I merit to believe that all is in Your authority — even to change nature. And that You do not withhold the reward of any creature; for Hashem is righteous and upright [ Psalms 25:8 ]. And may I always merit to pray and to give thanks to You with uprightness of heart — in truth and complete faith in great holiness and purity. Master of the Universe — behold, I have ventured to speak to Hashem, though I am dust and ashes [ Genesis 18:27 ]. Help us that our prayer be complete before You — and may we merit through our prayer to humble the evil in the particular and the general. And help us and grant us merit to pray before You with very immense self-sacrifice in absolute truth — until all our matter, existence, and physical body be completely nullified at the time of prayer. And may our prayer be complete — as the prayers of the early chassidim who had at the time of prayer the stripping away of physicality [ hispashtus hagashmius ]. And may we also merit through Your great power — to humble and shatter and nullify all the evil of the prayers of the wicked and the sinners of Israel whom we pray alongside. And may You give us the power to nullify their evil and to make from the evil a throne for holiness — until it be ash beneath the soles of the feet of holiness. And may the verse be fulfilled: And you shall tread down the wicked — for they shall be ashes beneath the soles of your feet [ Malachi 3:21 ]. And save us through Your abundant mercies — that we merit through our prayer to connect ourselves in general and in particular with the souls of those who dwell in the dust [ shochnei afar ]. And may we merit to stir and awaken them through our prayer — that they all pray with us together; as it is written: Awake and sing joyfully — those who dwell in the dust [ Isaiah 26:19 ]. And may we connect the speech of the prayer with those who dwell in the dust in general and in particular — that we merit to stir and awaken through our prayers all the portions of our own nefesh , ruach and neshamah that have already come in gilgul and been rectified. And may we also merit to stir and awaken all the holy souls of all the tzadikim — the holy ones who dwell in the dust; the holy ones who are in the land: to stir all of them so they pray with us. And in their merit may You always hear our prayer and give ear to our voice and attend to our plea — and may You have mercy upon us for their sake and not for our own sake; as it is written: As for the holy ones who are in the earth — they are the mighty ones; all my delight is in them [ Psalms 16:3 ]. And therefore — may You have mercy upon us and be in my help; and grant us merit through Your immense lovingkindnesses and great power — in the power and merit of the true tzadikim . That we merit through our prayers to repair all three evil voices of the wicked: which are — the voice of foolishness and folly of those who fall into false beliefs; and the voice of heresy and blasphemy of the investigators and the free-thinkers; and the voice of the shames of those who revile and disgrace the truly G‑d-fearing. That we merit through our prayers to humble and shatter and nullify all kinds of false beliefs — beliefs of folly and vanity and all the ways of the Emorites [ darkei haEmori ]. All of them may we merit to shatter and nullify through our prayers — and to raise up all those who fall into false beliefs to true holy faith. And may we merit to give all our heart to our prayers — and to pray before You with great and immense heartfelt intention. Until we merit through the heartfelt intention in prayer — to repair the heart of the investigators and the philosophers: that their heart be able to contain their intellect; so that their intellect not cause them to sin. For You know, Hashem our G‑d, the immense damage and corruptions and destructions that are caused to us by the investigators and the philosophers — who are wise in their own eyes; whose wisdom and intellect greatly exceed their deeds. And because of this they cause sin through their wisdom and intellect — they are wise to do evil and good they do not know. And they become ever more clever until they blaspheme heavenward through their wisdom. And they are extremely harmful to Israel as a whole through their evil wisdom. And in particular — most of them are great adulterers; and they engage in philosophy; and their heart is too small and limited to contain their wisdom. Of them it is said: To acquire wisdom when there is no heart [ Proverbs 17:16 ]. And therefore they cause even more sin through their evil wisdom and investigation. And not only do they corrupt and destroy their own souls utterly — but they also spread nets and snares for other children of Israel who are called out and walk sincerely; until this evil plague and eruption has spread through our generations through our many iniquities. Woe to us — for we are devastated. Which You alone know the immensity of this trouble that has come upon us now in the footsteps of Mashiach [ b’ikvos Meshicha ] — the likes of which has never occurred since the beginning of the world. And we have no one to lean upon but You, our Father in Heaven. Have pity and compassion upon us — and save the remnant of Your people Israel from all the sects of the investigators and the philosophers who trap souls to plunge them into the pit of destruction. And may there not arise and come and reach our hearts or the hearts of all Your people the House of Israel any aspect of their reasoning from their reasonings — and no opinion or confusion from their opinions and confusions; and no confusion or difficulty from their difficulties. Rather may You grant us merit to greatly multiply in Torah and good deeds in complete sincerity and simplicity all our days forever. And may we cast all the [alien] wisdoms behind our backs — and may we rely upon faith alone; as we received from our holy ancestors. And may our good deeds greatly exceed our wisdom. And may You give us the power to humble and shatter and nullify and uproot and destroy all the alien opinions of all the investigators and the philosophers — and may we merit to turn their hearts toward the truth: that they all return to Your holy and pure and sincere faith. And grant us merit and help us to nullify all the shames and disgraces that we have from our enemies and foes in the physical and the spiritual — and may we merit through our prayers to transform all the shames and disgraces into honor. And may we merit at the time of prayer to utterly nullify ourselves — and to enter and to stand in the King’s palace; and may we then utterly nullify our existence; until at that time nothing is seen — only the blessed King Himself is seen. Until we merit through this to holy intellect — to transform all the shames into honor; and to contemplate in all the words of the revilers and the blasphemers — to refine them and to interpret them so that from them there emerge words of glory to the blessed Name. As it is written: And in His palace — all of it says: glory [ Psalms 29:9 ]. And may our prayer be complete in great completeness to the ultimate completeness. Until all the rectifications be accomplished through our prayers — that were accomplished through the red heifer that Moshe Rabbainu burned in the wilderness. Until You remember the covenant of our fathers through our prayers — and may the light of the merit of the Avos glitter through our supplications and prayers. And through the merit of our fathers — may You remember the Shechinah of Your might; and may You reveal the holiness of the Land of Israel even in this bitter exile. And grant us merit to yearn and to long and to pine always — to come to the Land of Israel. Until we merit to complete our thought and bring it from potential to actuality — to travel and to ascend to the Land of Israel swiftly and speedily through Your abundant mercies and immense lovingkindnesses. And through the holiness of the Land of Israel may we merit to be rescued from the evil eye of our enemies and foes and pursuers — and may we also see in them what they seek to see in us. And may the verse be fulfilled: Hope to Hashem and keep His way — and He shall exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off you shall see it [ Psalms 37:34 ]. Trust in Hashem and do good — dwell in the land and tend upon faith [ Psalms 37:3 ].

Master of the Universe — You know that we have no power to stand against even one of our enemies, how much more against all of them; and we have no power to humble these three voices. Rather we have come before You in the merit and power of the true tzadikim — that You grant us merit to be absorbed in them; and may they battle before us. And may they humble through their great power all these three voices — and may they cast down before us all our enemies and pursuers. And may they shatter and uproot and destroy all those who rise against us for evil — all those who oppose the point of truth; and all those who prevent us and all Your people the House of Israel from the straight and true path as Your good will desires. May they all bow and fall — and may they give honor to Your precious Name. And may the verse be fulfilled: The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. Hashem shall not leave him in his hand — and shall not condemn him when he is judged [ Psalms 37:32–33 ]. And help us and save us and grant us merit through Your abundant mercies — to return in complete repentance before You in truth swiftly and speedily; until we merit to be counted among the tzadikim who do good. And may we merit that the face of Hashem be revealed to us through the holiness of the Land of Israel — and grant us merit to truly fulfill the verse: Seek Hashem and His strength — seek His face always [ Psalms 105:4 ]. And may we merit to fulfill the commandment of challah in completeness [ mitzvas challah bishleimus ] — and may we never stumble; and may dough from which the challah has not been separated never come into our mouths. And may You bring us our righteous Mashiach speedily — and may we return to our land soon. And there may we merit to fulfill the commandment of giving the pure challah to the kohen — in complete completeness in great holiness. And may You save us and guard us — us and our offspring always; that no evil eye ever have dominion over us: from any person or any created being in the world. And may we merit to always give thanks and bless You — and may my mouth be filled with Your praise; and may we always give thanks to You, Hashem our G‑d, for every single breath. All my bones shall say — Hashem, who is like You? Rescuer of the poor from one stronger than him — and the destitute and poor from one who robs him [ Psalms 35:10 ]. Rescue me from my enemies, my G‑d — from those who rise against me lift me up [ Psalms 59:2 ]. Deliver me, Hashem, from an evil man — guard me from men of violence [ Psalms 140:2 ]. For to You, G‑d Hashem, are my eyes — in You I have taken refuge; do not pour out my soul [ Psalms 141:8 ]. Hashem my G‑d — in You I have taken refuge; save me from all my pursuers and rescue me [ Psalms 7:2 ]. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me — for with many were they with me [ Psalms 55:19 ]. Those who fear Hashem — praise Him; all the seed of Yaakov — honor Him. For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted — and He has not hidden His face from him; and when he cried to Him He heard [ Psalms 22:24–25 ]. Behold — G‑d is my helper; Hashem is with those who support my soul [ Psalms 54:6 ]. He shall repay the evil to my watchful enemies — in Your truth destroy them [ Psalms 54:7 ]. With a free will offering I shall sacrifice to You — I shall praise Your Name, Hashem, for it is good. For from every trouble He has saved me — and my eye has seen upon my enemies [ Psalms 54:8–9 ]. Let every soul praise G‑d — Halleluyah. Let every soul praise G‑d — Halleluyah [ Psalms 150:6 ]. Why do You hide Your face — forgetting our affliction and our oppression? [ Psalms 44:25 ]. Why, Hashem, do You cast off my soul — hiding Your face from me? [ Psalms 88:15 ]. Why does Hashem stand from afar — hiding Himself in times of trouble? [ Psalms 10:1 ]. How long, Hashem, will You be hidden forever — shall Your wrath burn like fire? [ Psalms 89:47 ]. How long, Hashem, will You forget me forever — how long will You hide Your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul — sorrow in my heart by day; how long shall my enemy be exalted over me? [ Psalms 13:2–3 ]. Do not hide Your face from me on the day of my distress — incline Your ear to me; on the day I call, answer me speedily [ Psalms 102:3 ]. Answer me speedily, Hashem — my spirit fails; do not hide Your face from me — lest I become like those who descend to the pit [ Psalms 143:7 ]. Answer me, Hashem — answer me, for I am in great trouble. Do not hide Your face from me — and do not conceal Yourself from my supplication. Master of the Universe — Eternal King; Master of all; Ruler of all; hidden G‑d [ El misstatir ]; full of mercy. You alone know the immensity of the intensity of the concealment of the hiding — which has greatly strengthened now in these times in the footsteps of Mashiach [ b’ikvah diMeshicha ]. For You have hidden Your face from us and melted us in the hand of our iniquity — and it has been fulfilled in us now through our many iniquities: And I will surely hide My face on that day on account of all the evil he has done — because he has turned to other gods [ Deuteronomy 31:18 ]. For You have greatly hidden Yourself from us — until Your power and Your greatness and Your splendor and Your sovereignty and Your great dominion that rules over all have become hidden and concealed from us. For I sinned and transgressed and rebelled before You and did evil in Your eyes from my youth until this very day — and I transgressed and repeated many times until it became for me like something permitted; and I overturned the words of the Living G‑d and corrupted the combinations of letters of the holy Torah. Until it became for me that the forbidden became permitted to me. And not only was this not sufficient for me — but I added to performing great abominations even more than these; and doubled and tripled them many times without measure and reckoning. Until I have wearied of counting the multitude of the days of my sins — how many times I angered You. Until the yoke of my many and immense iniquities entwined and rose upon my neck and stopped counting because there is no number. Until through my many iniquities the concealment within concealment grew powerful over me [ hahastara shebetoch hahastara ] — for You have hidden Yourself from me in many and many concealments within concealments. For even the hiding itself is hidden from us — and we do not know even this: that You are hidden from us; for we do not know anything of You at all; and the iniquities have been transformed for us into flatness. Woe to us — for we are devastated. What shall we say before You Who dwell on high — and what shall we recount before You Who reside in the heavens? For You know all the hidden things and the revealed things. And now, our Father in Heaven — what shall we do and what shall we act? And in particular I — the poor and destitute one: from where shall I seek help for myself to reveal the immensity of the concealment within concealment — in which You have hidden from me very greatly? Until I forgot my goodness and neglected my holiness — and You rejected peace from my soul; I have forgotten goodness [ Lamentations 3:17 ]. And even if I still sometimes remember a little of the immensity of Your G‑dliness and Your power and Your greatness and Your dominion and Your exaltedness — blessed forever and for all eternity — and my soul yearns for You, G‑d, very greatly; and my longing and desire and yearning is very firm and strong to truly return to You. But my strength has dried up and it is not in my power to prevail over my evil and bitter desires — through which my life has been consumed in grief and my years in sighing. And I know not where to flee; where to hide from my evil desires and my immense confusion of mind. And the sadness and the black bile that have all overpowered me together do not allow me to catch my breath. My Father in Heaven — have mercy upon me and see my affliction and my toil. See, Hashem — for I am in distress; my innards churn; my heart is overturned within me — for I have greatly rebelled [ Lamentations 1:20 ]. See, Hashem — that strength is gone; and there is neither shut-up nor abandoned [ Deuteronomy 32:36 ]. You have covered Yourself with a cloud so that prayer cannot pass through [ Lamentations 3:44 ]. You pursued us in anger and slew without pity [ Lamentations 3:43 ]. Master of the Universe — full of mercy; full of abundant lovingkindnesses: Be gracious to me, Hashem — see my affliction from those who hate me; raise me from the gates of death [ Psalms 9:14 ]. Remember me please with Your good will. Remember please in Your mercies — after whom are You pursuing? After whom has the King of Israel gone out? After a dead dog; after a single flea; shall you be overawed by a leaf that flies [ Job 13:25 ]? And a dry straw — shall You pursue? Master of the Universe! Master of the Universe! Master of the Universe! I have no mouth to speak and no forehead to raise my head — for there is no word on my tongue; behold, Hashem — You know it all [ Psalms 139:4 ]. For You have borne me and cast me away. Hashem — by Your will You had set up my mountain in strength; You hid Your face and I was confounded [ Psalms 30:8 ]. Answer me, Hashem — for Your lovingkindness is good; according to Your abundant mercies turn toward me [ Psalms 69:17 ]. And do not hide Your face from Your servant — for I am in distress; answer me speedily [ Psalms 69:18 ]. To Hashem I shall call and to Hashem I shall entreat [ Psalms 30:9 ]. What gain is there in my blood — in my going down to the pit? Will the dust acknowledge You? Will it tell Your truth? [ Psalms 30:10 ]. Hear, Hashem, and be gracious to me — Hashem, be my helper [ Psalms 30:11 ]. For I know no path at all how to reveal the immensity of the concealment within concealment — which is comprised of thousands and ten-thousands of concealments; until I know not how to escape from them and how to rescue my soul from the fowler’s snare. But through Your abundant mercies — You have thought from afar to improve our final end; and You have promised us that through the engagement in the holy Torah we merit to find You always at every time — even in these last days; in the intensity of the concealment within concealment. As it is written: And I will surely hide My face on that day on account of all the evil he has done — because he has turned to other gods. And this song shall testify before him as a witness — for it shall not be forgotten from the mouth of his offspring [ Deuteronomy 31:18–19 ]. Therefore I have come before You, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers — full of mercy; full of graciousness; good and doing good for all; Who has mercy upon the creatures; Whose mercy is upon all Your works. That You grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to engage in Your holy Torah for its own sake always day and night — in great holiness and purity. In such a manner that I merit through the engagement in Torah to reveal the concealment within concealment — and to find Your G‑dliness always at every time and in every season and in every place. And may no thing and no matter in the world have any power to conceal from me Your G‑dliness and Your Providence and Your exaltedness, blessed be He. And help me and save me to engage in the holy Torah with a full mouth — to bring forth the words of Torah from my mouth in completeness. And may You give us the power to call You the Living of the Living through the holy Torah — which is Your Name. And through this may we merit to receive and draw upon ourselves good and long life from You — for You are the Living of the Living; and You enliven all the worlds from beginning to end through the holy Torah which is Your Name. For it is our life and the length of our days. And grant us merit to receive the life gradually and in measure — through the holy vessels made through the passages and the verses and the portions and the words and the cantillation [ taamim ] and the vowels [ nekudos ] and the crowns [ tagin ] and the letters [ osiyos ] of the holy Torah. And may we merit through them to good and long life and mercy and peace and holy da’as . Master of the Universe — close to those who call upon Him in truth: grant us merit to call upon You in truth — in such a manner that You answer us speedily. And may we call upon You and You answer us; and may we entreat You and You be entreated by us. Be gracious to us from Yourself with knowledge, understanding and discernment. Grant us merit to draw from Yourself through the engagement in the holy Torah — good and long life and length of days and years; and holy wisdom, understanding and da’as . In such a manner that we merit to know that You are always found at every time and in every person and in every place — and even in the intensity of the concealment within concealment; there too You are found. For You Yourself are hidden within all the concealments in the world — and even within concealment within concealment; and even within thousands of thousands and ten-thousands of ten-thousands of concealments without end: there too You are found. For there is no place void of You [ leis atar panui minak ] — and You enliven them all. And without You there is no vitality for any thing in the world — even all the klippos and all the impurities in the world; and all the Sitra Achrins ; and all the concealments in the world that conceal Your G‑dliness: all of them have no vitality and power except what they receive from You Yourself, blessed be He — forever. And You rule over all — and Your sovereignty rules over all; and without You no concealment in the world has the power to conceal and to hide You, blessed be He. And grant me merit through Your abundant mercies — to know all this with complete knowledge in truth and in faith. Until I merit through this to reveal the concealment within concealment and to transform it into da’as : so that from all the concealments there be made holy Torah. And may the concealed holy Torah be revealed — the one hidden there within the intensity of the concealment within concealment. And may we merit to the revelation of the hidden [secrets] of Torah — to understand and to attain the mysteries of the Torah [ razin d’Oraisa ]. Until we merit to hear the great proclamation of the holy Torah — which continually roars and calls out in a very great and immense voice: At the head of the noisy places she cries out — how long will the simple ones love simplicity? [ Proverbs 1:21–22 ]. And through our many iniquities we do not hear this proclamation. Therefore have mercy upon us for the sake of Your Name. And grant us merit to engage in the holy Torah with a full mouth in great holiness — until we merit to hear the great proclamation of the holy Torah: the voice of the words of the Living G‑d and the Eternal King; a great voice that did not cease [ Deuteronomy 5:19 ]. And may the Torah itself rebuke us with revealed rebuke from hidden love [ tochachas megulah me’ahavah mesuteres ] — as it is written: Her mouth she opens with wisdom — and the Torah of lovingkindness is upon her tongue [ Proverbs 31:26 ]. Until we merit through this to speedily return to You in truth — and may You bring us close to Your service and return us in complete repentance before You. And help us and save us and grant us merit to reveal and to raise up the letter-combinations [ tzirufei osiyos ] of the holy Torah from within the concealments — and to return and to turn them toward holiness; and to restore them to their original place and position; and to combine them with holy combinations [ tzirufim dikdushah ]. Until through them there be revealed true and wondrous and awe-inspiring Torah novellae. And may You reveal to us the hidden secrets of the Torah [ sitrei Oraisa ] — wonders and hidden things of Your holy Torah that You have stored away and hidden for those who fear You. And may we merit to know and to distinguish between the forbidden and the permitted; between the holy and the profane; between the impure and the pure; between the valid and the invalid. And help us to separate ourselves from the evil and the forbidden completely — and to attach ourselves to holiness in truth and in complete faith; to turn from evil and do good in Your eyes always as Your good will desires in truth. And grant us merit to complete holy da’as — until we merit to adorn ourselves and to adorn others as well in complete repentance before You in truth. That we merit through our engagement in the holy Torah to stir even others in complete repentance — even those very far from us. To bring them out from darkness to light; from darkness to illumination; from the profane to the holy. And help us — that we merit to draw good and long life into our own sovereignty [ malchus ]: which each and every one of us has some portion in the aspect of sovereignty — in the revealed and in the hidden. And may we not use our sovereignty for our own needs at all; and may our sovereignty not be like a servant — rather may we merit that our sovereignty be free [ ben chorin ]. And may we not make use of the sovereignty and the dominion that each and every one of us has — except for Your Name and Your service alone in truth. And may You be gracious to us from Yourself with holy intellect and da’as — that we merit to know how to admonish and rebuke all the people who are under our dominion: both our sons and daughters and the members of our household; and our brothers and companions and other people who follow our guidance. May we merit to rebuke and admonish all of them in the Torah of Hashem — that they return to Hashem in truth and not follow the obstinacy of their evil heart. Rather may they look at themselves and have compassion upon their souls — to always cleave themselves to the ways of the Torah of Hashem ; to turn from evil and do good; and not to deviate from the commandment right or left. And guard us and save us and shield us — that our sovereignty and our dominion not harm us, G‑d forbid. Rather may we merit to draw good and long life into the sovereignty. And may we merit to restore and to return all the sovereignty and the dominion to the blessed Name — not to use the sovereignty for our own needs at all; except for Your Name alone in truth. As it is written: And the sovereignty shall be Hashem’s [ Obadiah 1:21 ]. And therefore — have mercy upon us through Your abundant mercies and save us from the desire for money [ ta’avas mamon ]; and help us to shatter the desire for prominence and wealth [ ta’avas hanegidus v’ha’ashirus ]. And may we not covet and not desire at all to gather wealth in the world — which is not ours. Rather may we merit that all our desire and longing and aspiration and occupation be only in the holy Torah: to acquire holy wisdom and complete da’as ; and to cleave to Your holy commandments. And grant us merit to repair in our lifetime all the blemishes that we blemished before You through the desire for money — and may we merit to bring out all the holy sparks that the klipah swallowed through our many iniquities through our evil desires; and in particular through the desire for money. And may the verse be speedily fulfilled: Wealth he swallowed and will vomit — G‑d will dispossess it from his belly [ Job 20:15 ]. And may we merit to humble and shatter and nullify and obliterate and destroy and uproot the klipah of Haman Amalek from the world — which is the desire for money. And to bring out all the holy vitality from it — and to restore and return all the holy sparks and all the holy vitality to their supernal root in holiness; and to turn and make from them holy Torah. And may we merit to always draw upon ourselves the holiness of Mordechai the Jew and Queen Esther. And help us and grant us merit to reveal and to illuminate all the supernal colors [ gavvanin ila’in ] that are in gold and silver and copper — in great holiness and purity as Your good will desires. And have compassion upon us through Your abundant mercies — and may You pour upon us the attribute of compassion in truth. And may we merit to have compassion upon the creatures and to greatly multiply in charity. And You shall have mercy upon us from the heavens — and may You draw for us livelihood and an overflow of goodness and charity and blessing and mercy and life and peace and complete holy da’as and all good. And may You nullify the strife from the world — and may You remove every kind of hatred and jealousy and contentiousness and quarreling from all Your people the House of Israel forever. And may You draw compassion and peace in the world — that there be great and true peace among all Your people the House of Israel and in the entire world; and may all who come into the world have compassion upon one another with great love and great mercy in truth. And may You give us good livelihood from the heavens — and just as You sustained Your people Israel in the wilderness for forty years; and gave them the manna to eat; and they lacked nothing — for You provided them all their needs: so may You have compassion upon us through Your lovingkindnesses. And may You pour upon us good livelihood from the heavens — and may You give us all our needs without any toil or burden or disturbance at all. In such a manner that we merit to do Your will and to observe Your statutes and Your judgments — and to engage in Your Torah always day and night without any neglect at all. For all our days of life are vanity — and our days are like a passing shadow; and if not now — when? And help us and grant us merit and save us — that we merit to purify and sanctify ourselves at every time through immersion in the mikveh [ritual pool]. And may we merit to draw upon ourselves great purity and holiness through immersion in the mikveh — to purify ourselves from all the impurities; from all the sins and iniquities and transgressions that we sinned and transgressed and rebelled before You from our youth until this very day. And to draw great holiness upon ourselves through the holy mikveh . And may You pour upon us through this great da’as and abundant mercy. And may You give us the power and help us — that we merit through the immersion in the mikveh to sweeten all the judgments in the world from upon us and from upon our offspring and from upon all Your people the House of Israel. And to nullify through this all the troubles and all the evil decrees. And may You always save us through the holy and most awe-inspiring immersion in the mikveh . And may the verse be fulfilled: The hope [{hb("mikveh")}] of Israel is Hashem — its savior in the time of trouble [ Jeremiah 17:13 ]. And may You grant us merit to draw upon ourselves the holiness of the mikveh of the holy festival of Shavuos — which is the time of the giving of our Torah; when Israel drew near to You and merited to receive the holy Torah through immersion in the mikveh . And may all of us merit on the festival of Shavuos to immerse ourselves in the supernal mikveh — in the mikveh of the fiftieth gate of holiness [ sha’ar hachamishim shel hakedushah ]; which is abundant and great mercy; and supernal lovingkindness; and very great da’as . And help us — that we merit to draw the holiness of this mikveh upon ourselves throughout the entire year. And may we merit to always purify and sanctify ourselves — and to speedily go out from the fifty gates of impurity and to enter within the fifty gates of holiness. And may the verse be speedily fulfilled in us: And I shall sprinkle upon you pure water and you shall be purified — from all your impurities and from all your idolatries I shall purify you [ Ezekiel 36:25 ]. And grant me merit to the faith in the sages [ emunah b’chachamim ] in truth — and may You pour upon me complete da’as : that I merit to truly know and believe in all the true tzadikim and sages. And may the great dispute between them not confuse me at all. And may I merit to know and to believe in truth: that truly these and these are words of the Living G‑d [ eilu v’eilu divrei Elokim chayyim ] — and all their words are truth and righteousness. And may I not disgrace, G‑d forbid, any one of them — even the truly wise ones whose ruling is not accepted [as normative]; for these are the ways of Hashem — wonders of perfect knowledge; and it is impossible for us to attain this. And I shall not investigate this at all — rather only to believe that these and these are words of the Living G‑d. And have compassion upon me — and save me from the sadness of the hands [ itzavon yadayim ]; and nullify from me every kind of sadness and worry and black bile. And in particular the sadness and worry from the burden of the livelihood [ tirdat haparnasah ] — may You remove and nullify from me through Your abundant mercies. For through my many iniquities — from the immense heaviness and sadness and black bile that overpowered my heart through my evil desires; and added to this the yoke and burden of the livelihood: through all this my spirit of the heart has been blocked; until the holy pulse of the heart [ ruach hadofek dikdushah shebilvavi ] cannot proceed in an orderly movement through all the limbs as is fitting. And because of this my hands and my limbs are very heavy — and from the immensity of the heaviness the pulse weakens even more; and so it goes around in a cycle. Until from the immensity of the heaviness and the weakness and the blocking of the heart from the great sadness — my soul nearly departs, G‑d forbid; for there is barely a measure between me and death. Master of the Universe — You know all this. You know my bitter and hastened heart — the bitterness of my heart reaches the heights of the heavens; until the burden-bearer’s strength fails. Woe to me, my mother, that you bore me! Woe to me upon my soul! Woe and very bitter to me! Woe and alas! Woe and alas! Ahah, Hashem ! O heavens — intercede for me! Full of mercy — have compassion upon me. For I know not at all how to begin and to speak — for how shall I open a mouth; and how shall I raise an eye; and how can this servant of my Master speak with his Master? For truly — I have sinned before Hashem the G‑d of Israel; I have sinned, transgressed, violated — and have done evil in Your eyes. Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes — so have I made for myself. Like a murderer of souls — so was I to my own soul; and I had no compassion upon myself at all. Woe upon the days that have passed over me! My Father — the Compassionate Father! My Father — the Father of lovingkindness! My Father — my Rock, my Redeemer, my Ransomer; my Fashioner and my Maker and my Creator; my G‑d, my King and my Holy One — Who has thought to improve my final end: teach me and instruct me counsel and strategy that I merit to fulfill; in such a manner that I merit to complete repentance before You in truth; and may I not return again to foolishness forever. For I know of no strategy — except to beseech You that You have mercy upon me and help me and bend my inclination to submit to You in truth. Grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to a true sigh from the depth of my heart in truth — in such a manner that I merit through my sigh to return to revive and to restore the holy pulse of the heart [ ruach hadofek dikdushah ] within my heart. And may the pulse return and proceed and move through all the limbs in order — and in particular through the hands. Until my hands be thereby rectified and purified. And may I speedily merit to repair the blemish of the hands — all that I blemished with my hands from my youth until this very day. Until I merit to raise and to lift my hands to Hashem — G‑d Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth. And may I merit to fulfill the verse: Let us lift up our heart with our hands to G‑d in heaven [ Lamentations 3:41 ]. And grant me merit to always be in joy — and may no sadness or black bile come upon me at all. And may I merit to holiness and purity in truth — and to ascend each time from level to level in great holiness. Until I merit through the power of the true tzadikim — to receive words from Heaven. And may I merit to know and to understand and to attain the holy dispute [ machloket dikdushah ] — to know that in truth this is no dispute at all; rather great love and fraternity and fellowship and peace; for these and these are words of the Living G‑d. And may You make known to me Your ways — and grant me merit to increasingly draw near and cleave to the true tzadikim whose ruling is normative everywhere.
וְתַצִּילֵנִי מִפְּגַם הָרְאוּת, וּתְקַדֵּשׁ אֶת עֵינַי תָּמִיד, וְלֹא אֶסְתַּכֵּל עוֹד בְּשׁוּם דָּבָר הַפּוֹגֵם אֶת הָרְאוּת, רַק אֶזְכֶּה לְהִסְתַּכֵּל בְּעֵינַי בְּתוֹרָתֶךָ, וּלְהִסְתַּכֵּל עַל צַדִּיקֶיךָ הָאֲמִתִּיִּים, וְעַל כָּל הַדְּבָרִים הַמְקַדְּשִׁין אֶת הָעֵינַיִם, עַד שֶׁיִּהְיוּ עֵינַי קְדוֹשִׁים וּטְהוֹרִים תָּמִיד בֶּאֱמֶת לַאֲמִתּוֹ, וְאֶזְכֶּה לְתַקֵּן מְהֵרָה אֶת כָּל הַפְּגָמִים שֶׁפָּגַמְתִּי בְּעֵינַי. וְתַעַזְרֵנִי בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ וְתִשְׁמְרֵנִי מִקִּלְקוּל חוּשׁ הָרְאוּת חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, וְלֹא יִכְהוּ מְאוֹר עֵינַי לְעוֹלָם, וְגַם עַד זִקְנָה וְשֵׂיבָה, אַל תַּעַזְבֵנִי, וְתִשְׁמֹר אֶת אוֹר עֵינַי תָּמִיד, לְמַעַן אֶזְכֶּה לַהֲגוֹת בְּתוֹרָתְךָ יוֹמָם וָלָיְלָה, וּלְנַדֵּד שֵׁנָה מֵעֵינַי, וְלֹא יַגִּיעַ לִי עַל־יְדֵי־זֶה שׁוּם הֶזֵּק ומֵחוֹשׁ לְעֵינַי, וְיִהְיוּ עֵינַי מְאִירוֹת כַּשֶּׁמֶשׁ וְכַיָּרֵחַ. יָחִיד וּמְיֻחָד, קָרְבֵנוּ אֵלֶיךָ בֶּאֱמֶת, וְתִדְחֶה וְתַעֲבִיר וּתְבַטֵּל הַשֶּׁקֶר וְהָרַע וְהַטֻּמְאָה מִן הָעוֹלָם, וּתְקַיֵּם מְהֵרָה מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב, וְאֶת רוּחַ הַטֻּמְאָה אַעֲבִיר מִן הָאָרֶץ. וּתְטַהֲרֵנוּ וּתְקַדְּשֵׁנוּ בְּכָל מִינֵי טָהֳרוֹת וּקְדֻשּׁוֹת. וּתְקַיֵּם בָּנוּ מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב, וְזָרַקְתִּי עֲלֵיכֶם מַיִם טְהוֹרִים וּטְהַרְתֶּם מִכֹּל טֻמְאוֹתֵיכֶם וּמִכָּל גִּלּוּלֵיכֶם אֲטַהֵר אֶתְכֶם. וּתְגַלֶּה הָאֱמֶת בָּעוֹלָם חִישׁ קַל מְהֵרָה וּתְקַיֵּם בְּיָמֵינוּ שְׂפַת אֱמֶת תִּכּוֹן לָעַד וְִעַד אַרְגִּיעָה לְשׁוֹן שָׁקֶר. אֱמֶת מֵאֶרֶץ תִּצְמָח וְצֶדֶק מִשָּׁמַיִם נִשְׁקָף. חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת נִפְגָּשׁוּ צֶדֶק וְשָׁלוֹם נָשָׁקוּ. הַדְרִיכֵנִי בַאֲמִתֶּךָ וְלַמְּדֵנִי כִּי אַתָּה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעִי אוֹתְךָ קִוִּיתִי כָּל הַיּוֹם. הוֹרֵנִי יְהֹוָה דַּרְכֶּךָ אַהַלֵּךְ בַּאֲמִתֶּךָ יַחֵד לְבָבִי לְיִרְאָה שְׁמֶךָ. שְׁלַח אוֹרְךָ וַאֲמִתְּךָ הֵמָּה יַנְחוּנִי יְבִיאוּנִי אֶל הַר קָדְשְׁךָ וְאֶל מִשְׁכְּנוֹתֶיךָ. מִי אֵל כָּמוֹךָ נוֹשֵׂא עָוֹן וְעוֹבֵר עַל פֶּשַׁע לִשְׁאֵרִית נַחֲלָתוֹ לֹא הֶחֱזִיק לָעַד אַפּוֹ כִּי חָפֵץ חֶסֶד הוּא. יָשׁוּב יְרַחֲמֵנוּ יִכְבֹּשׁ עֲוֹנוֹתֵינוּ וְתַשְׁלִיךְ בִּמְצֻלוֹת יָם כָּל חַטֹּאתָם. תִּתֵּן אֱמֶת לְיַעֲקֹב חֶסֶד לְאַבְרָהָם אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּעְתָּ לַאֲבוֹתֵינוּ מִימֵי קֶדֶם. הֲשִׁיבֵנוּ יְהֹוָה אֵלֶיךָ וְנָשׁוּבָה חַדֵּשׁ יָמֵינוּ כְּקֶדֶם. אָמֵן וְאָמֵן:
Our Father, our King — You know that it is impossible for me to set forth my speech before You in completeness in any manner. You know all that I have lost until now through my many iniquities. Full of mercy — say “enough” to my troubles! Have compassion upon me with Your great compassion. Grant me please speedily to complete repentance before You — and give me my livelihood from You before I need it; and save me from debts and loans. Master of the Universe — save me from the sadness of the hands [ itzavon yadayim ]! Save me please from the burden of the livelihood! Comfort us please in the merit of the true tzadikim . And may You bring us our righteous Mashiach. And may the verse be fulfilled: This one shall comfort us from our work and from the sadness of our hands [ Genesis 5:29 ]. Help us! Help us! Be gracious to us! Be gracious to us! Turn toward us and save us — and do not hide Your face from us. Turn to me and be gracious to me — give Your strength to Your servant; and save the son of Your handmaid [ Psalms 86:16 ]. Perform for me a sign for good — and may my enemies see and be ashamed; for You, Hashem, have helped me and comforted me [ Psalms 86:17 ]. Amen and Amen. Hashem my G‑d — I shall exalt You; I shall praise Your Name, for You have done wondrous things; counsels from afar in faithfulness and truth [ Isaiah 25:1 ]. For through Your abundant mercies You have chosen us from all the nations and exalted us above all tongues and sanctified us with Your commandments and brought us near, our King, to Your service — and You gave us, Hashem our G‑d, Your holy Torah: the Written Torah and the Oral Torah; and You commanded us to believe in Your true tzadikim and sages and to draw near to them and cleave to them and to fulfill their words — as all that comes from their mouth we shall do. As it is written: You shall not deviate from the word that they tell you — right or left [ Deuteronomy 17:11 ]. And therefore may it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers, G‑d of Avraham, G‑d of Yitzchak and G‑d of Yaakov — that You plant and fix Your holy faith in our hearts and in the heart of all Your people the House of Israel, and may You grant us merit to the faith in the sages [ emunah b'chachamim ] in the ultimate completeness in truth. And may we merit to truly believe in the true sages of holiness — and to draw near to them and to cling to the dust of their feet and to drink in their words with thirst, and to go in all the way that they guide us, and not to deviate from their words right or left. And may You save me from opposition [ hitnaggdus ] — that there be found in me and in my offspring and in all the offspring of Your people the House of Israel no aspect of opposition to any true sage of holiness; nor against any upright person in the world. How much more so may I not disgrace them, G‑d forbid — rather may I merit to fulfill the words of the true tzadikim and sages, and to hold fast to their ways and to believe in them with complete faith in truth. And all that I blemished in faith in the sages from my youth until this very day — and I belittled their honor; and through this I blemished the entirety of Your holy Torah which was all transmitted into the hands of the true sages to expound it according to all their desires; and through this I blemished the holy angels created by the word of Hashem through the letters of the holy Torah; and I transgressed the prohibition of lo tasur [do not deviate]; and I removed the power of the hands from the holy angels — which are the right hand and the left hand through which the angels would receive the Divine flow from above and would bestow it upon all the grasses and all the things in the world. And through the blemish of faith in the sages — the hands of the angels were withdrawn, until they have no power to receive and to bestow; and through this it is impossible to receive healing, and we caused, G‑d forbid, a plague that is not written in the Torah — a plague for which there is no healing. Please, Hashem , through Your abundant mercies — forgive and pardon and atone for me and for all Your people the House of Israel for all these blemishes that we blemished in the faith of the holy sages. For You know the hidden things of our heart — for not out of rebellion and treachery did we blemish in this; rather only due to the confusion of our minds and the smallness of our knowledge. Please, Hashem — grant us merit from now through Your mercies to repair all this; in such a manner that we merit from now to the faith in the sages in the ultimate completeness in truth as Your good will desires. For You know, Hashem our G‑d, the immensity of our weakness at this time — and we have no support except upon the true sages and tzadikim . Therefore grant us merit to believe in all the true sages and tzadikim and upright ones — and not to speak any word against their honor, G‑d forbid; and not to disgrace any Jewish person in the world. Have compassion and be gracious to us and have pity please upon us — and guard our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking deceit. And help us and save us that we merit to raise up the fallen faith — and may we merit to repair the faith in the sages in completeness in truth; and through this may You return and give the power of the hands to the holy angels to receive and to bestow upon all the grasses and all the things in the world; and may You send complete healing for all our afflictions in body and soul in the physical and the spiritual. Heal us, Hashem , and we shall be healed — save us and we shall be saved, for You are our praise. And therefore help me through Your abundant mercies that I merit to sanctify myself with Your supernal holiness — and may You bring me speedily to holiness and separation [ kedushah u'ferishus ] in truth; and may I merit to hold fast to the ways of our holy fathers: to vow vows and to fulfill them immediately for the sake of Your good will — in order to merit through the vows to holiness and separation in truth. And may I merit to ascend to the place of the vow [ makom haneder ] — which is wonders of wisdom [ pelios chochmah ]; and through this may You help me to recognize the greatness and holiness of the true sages; until I merit to the faith in the sages in completeness; and through this may You grant me merit to ascend and be absorbed in the light of the Avos — and may the light of the Avos, Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov, glitter within me. And therefore may it be Your will, Hashem my G‑d and G‑d of my fathers — that You help me and save me and grant me merit to the delight of Shabbos [ oneg Shabbos ] in completeness in truth. And may I merit to receive each Shabbos in great holiness and joy and gladness and very great and immense exultation. And to delight in Hashem on the holy Shabbos with all manner of delight — and to multiply in the Shabbos feast with all manner of delicacies in holiness and great exultation; and may I have no irritability at all over the expenses of Shabbos and holy days. You set a table before me in the presence of my tormentors — You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows [ Psalms 23:5 ]. And may You be gracious to me from Yourself through Your abundant mercies — and help me and save me and grant me merit speedily to holy eating in the aspect of the delight of Shabbos [ achilas dikdushah biv'chinas oneg Shabbos ]; so that my eating always be in great holiness in the aspect of the delight of Shabbos. And through this may I merit through Your mercies to humble and subjugate and shatter and nullify all the haters and enemies — to silence enemy and avenger; and all those who rise against us for evil may they all bow and fall; and may You frustrate their counsel and overturn their thoughts speedily. And may You grant me merit to truly know how to conduct myself in the matters of fasting [ ta'aniyos ] — for I do not know at all how to conduct myself in this; except that upon You alone I rely in truth; that You guide me in Your truth and teach me how to conduct myself in the matters of fasting — and as Your will I shall do. And therefore have compassion upon me, my Father — the Compassionate Father; good and doing good for all; and help me and save me that I merit speedily to shatter and nullify the attribute of anger [ midas haka'as ] from me. And may You save me from anger and from cruelty and from irritability — and may I never become angry and never be irritable over any thing and over any person in the world; rather may I merit through Your mercies to be good and to do good to all. And through this may You save me through Your abundant mercies from all manner of haters and accusers — that they have no power at all to denounce or accuse against me. Master of the Universe — save me from the hand of my enemies and my pursuers. Save me please from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau — for I fear him lest he come and strike me, mother with children. And You have said: I will surely do good with you and I will make your offspring like the sand of the sea which cannot be counted for multitude [ Genesis 32:12 ]. Have compassion upon me according to Your abundant mercies — have compassion upon my very wretched soul, which is very weary and very exhausted; from which all escape has been lost; there is no one who inquires after my soul. For You know how many haters and enemies and accusers stand against us at every time. And behold I confess and admit that I myself am the guilty one — and I myself caused all this upon myself; and I stirred them through my evil deeds and my sins and my iniquities and my very immense transgressions. And not only was this not sufficient for me — but I added sin upon transgression; and I was not careful and did not guard myself from the evil fire of anger; until the fire of anger burned within me very many times without number. And through the great iniquity of anger I stirred up the accuser and the great hater who is Esau the hairy man — and through him were stirred up very many accusers and denouncers and haters against us; until the haters and the enemies multiplied very greatly; until I do not know at all what to do and I know not where to flee from before them; for many rise against me — very many; and they opened their mouth without limit. They opened their mouth against us; they said — we have swallowed them. Who will give me a wing like a dove that I may fly and alight [ Psalms 55:7 ]. Behold I would wander far off — I would lodge in the wilderness forever [ Psalms 55:8 ]. I would hasten my escape from the rushing wind and storm [ Psalms 55:9 ]. My heart cried out to Hashem — give me no respite, let not the pupil of my eye be still. Master of the Universe — I have already arranged many supplications and requests; and I have already set forth all my conversation before You — all that my hand has found to speak. And although in truth, according to the immensity of my very many blemishes, I have not yet begun to speak at all — but I do not know at all how much more to speak; and I have no other strategy or hope except prayer and supplication. Help me, for upon You I have leaned; draw near to my soul — redeem it; for the sake of my enemies, redeem me [ Psalms 69:19 ]. Hashem — guide me in Your righteousness; for the sake of my watchful enemies, make Your way straight before me [ Psalms 5:9 ]. Have compassion and pity upon me, full of mercy; have compassion and mercy upon me, full of lovingkindness, full of goodness, full of favor — may Your innards stir and Your mercies grow warm over me; over one pursued as I am; over one lacking wisdom and lacking counsel as I am. Save me, my Lord the King! Save me, full of salvations and rescues! Do what You shall do in Your great mercies — in such a manner that I merit to return to You in truth and with a complete heart. And rebuke all the accusers and prosecuting angels [ mastinim and m'katr'gim ] against me — and save me from the hand of all my enemies and my pursuers; and rescue my soul from the hand of all manner of haters and enemies in the physical and the spiritual. Master of the Universe — You know all my heart. What shall I say before You Who dwell on high; and what shall I recount before You Who reside in the heavens? Behold — You know all the hidden things and the revealed things. You know the mysteries of the world and the hidden things of all the living — You search all the chambers of the belly and examine the kidneys and the heart; nothing is hidden from You and nothing is concealed from before Your eyes. Good and doing good for all — satisfy me from Your goodness and grant me merit to be good to all. And may You forgive and pardon and atone for me for all the sins and iniquities and transgressions — and for all the blemishes and corruptions that I caused through the iniquity of anger. And have compassion upon me from now and have pity upon me with Your great compassion — and do good to me from Your true goodness; and may You be with me always. And save me from now from anger and from irritability — that I never become angry and never be irritable even in my heart over any person and over any thing in the world; and may I never come to anger and irritability forever. And illuminate upon me with the light of Your face — and may You command through Your mercies to restore to me the holy intellect [ mochin dikdushah ] that was withdrawn from me through the iniquity of anger; and may You draw upon me the image of G‑d [ tzelem Elokim ] — the light of the countenance of the living King. And may You be gracious to me from Yourself as a free gift — and pour upon me the flow of wisdom, understanding and holy da'as ; until I merit to the illumination of the holy countenance. And may You grant me merit that my eating always be in great holiness in the aspect of the delight of Shabbos — until the Sitra Achra has no portion at all from my eating. And may I merit to humble the liver before the brain [ l'hachnia' hakaved lifnei hamoach ] — and may the brain and the holy intellect prevail over the angry liver; and may there be no dominion or rule over the liver at all; rather may all the dominion and rule be the brain of mine. Until I merit that the image of G‑d illuminate upon my face — and may I merit to be within the boundaries of the holy human. And help me and save me to humble and shatter and nullify from me the attribute of animalism [ midas habhemiyus ] — and may I merit to go out from animal to human [ mibhemah l'adam ]; until through this my awe shall be upon all the beasts of the earth and upon all the haters. As it is written: And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth [ Genesis 9:2 ]. And may You drive from before us all the enemies and all the haters in the world — and may You fulfill in us the verse: And I shall pound his adversaries before him and smite those who hate him [ Psalms 89:24 ]. Illuminate Your face upon Your servant — save me in Your lovingkindness [ Psalms 119:135 ]. Make Your face shine upon Your servant — and teach me Your statutes [ Psalms 31:17 ]. And may You grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to greatly multiply in charity [ tz'dakah ] — and may I merit to scatter charity abundantly to many fitting poor people; and through this may peace multiply in the world. And may we merit to peace in completeness in truth — a peace that has a mouth and speech; that there be peace between a person and his fellow; and may they speak together in love and peace words of truth and righteousness; and may each one stir his fellow to Your service and to Your reverence. And may You speedily and swiftly redeem us and bring us our righteous Mashiach — and may You humble and shatter and cast down and destroy the power of the kingdom of Aram [Edom] — falling after falling; and may they fall and not rise; they shall kneel and fall while we rise and stand upright; and Israel shall dwell securely in solitude. And may You place peace among all Your people Israel forever — and may it be good in Your eyes to bless us and to bless all Your people Israel at every time and at every hour with Your good peace. And may the verse be fulfilled: Great peace have those who love Your Torah — and there is no stumbling for them [ Psalms 119:165 ]. May there be peace within your ramparts — tranquility within your palaces [ Psalms 122:7 ]. And all your children shall be taught of Hashem — and great shall be the peace of your children [ Isaiah 54:13 ]. For the sake of my brothers and my companions — I shall now speak: peace be within you [ Psalms 122:8 ]. For the sake of the house of Hashem our G‑d — I shall seek good for you [ Psalms 122:9 ]. Hashem shall give strength to His people — Hashem shall bless His people with peace [ Psalms 29:11 ]. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem, my Rock and my Redeemer [ Psalms 19:15 ]. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — Who graciously endows man with knowledge [ ha'chonein la'adam da'as ]. That You be gracious to me through Your abundant mercies — and pour upon me wisdom, understanding and da'as from Yourself; and may You grant us complete holy da'as ; until I have the power through the completeness of da'as to draw the three influences — which are eating, drinking and clothing [ achilah, sh'tiyah u'malbushim ] — which are included within the da'as of the Torah. And help me and grant me merit that my da'as be absorbed within the three Avos — Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov. And may I merit to the Torah of lovingkindness [ Toras chesed ] — to study Torah in order to teach it; and to enter holy da'as into companions and students; and to acquire many souls to bring them under the wings of the Shechinah ; and to draw them near in truth to Your service. And may You pour upon me the reverence of Heaven — the fear of sin; and may I merit that my fear precede my wisdom [ yir'asi kodeimes l'chochmasi ]. And may You draw upon me the flow of grace and lovingkindness — and may You be with my mouth at the time of my teaching and my speech with people — to draw them near to You. And help me that I merit to know and to be precise in how to bring forth my wisdom — that my words be words of grace and splendor and not be contemptible; and may my words be pleasant to their hearers in such a manner that my words be received well in the eyes of all; and may all be stirred to Your service in truth through my words — that You grant me merit to speak in great holiness: beautiful and fitting words in truth, truly; a word spoken fittingly as Your good will desires. And therefore grant me merit through Your abundant mercies — in the merit of our three forefathers Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov; and in the power of Moshe Rabbainu, may he rest in peace; and in the merit of all the true tzadikim . And help me and save me from now that I merit to the guarding of the bris [ shmirat habris ] in truth in great holiness and purity. And may You stir the mercies of the true tzadikim that they have compassion upon us — weak of strength as we are; and may they battle for us and humble and shatter and cast down and nullify all the foes who pursue us and fight with us at every time. And may they humble and destroy and nullify the klipah of Amalek — which is the blemish of the bris [ p'gam habris ] — from me and from upon all Your people the House of Israel. Master of the Universe — act for the sake of Your Name! And help me from now that I merit to grow wise in true wisdom and to have compassion upon my soul in truth — to save myself from the pit of destruction, from the lowest depths of She'ol. And may my soul be as a prey for me — to rescue it from harsh and bitter punishments, G‑d forbid; to rescue it from great shames and disgraces. And to bind myself in a strong and firm bond to You in truth — and may I hasten to rescue my soul. And may I be rescued like a deer from a hand and like a bird from a fowler’s snare. Full of mercy — have compassion upon me according to Your abundant mercies, according to Your abundant lovingkindnesses, according to Your abundant graciousness, according to Your abundant salvations. And may You grant me merit to the guarding of the bris in truth — and may You be gracious to me from Yourself with holy wisdom, understanding and da'as : wisdom that is better than weapons [ chochmah hatovah mikhlei kerav ]; true wisdom through which I may merit to be rescued from the fowler’s snare. And may I have compassion and pity and mercy upon myself from now — and may I no longer follow the obstinacy of my evil heart. And You shall be in our help always — and the true tzadikim shall battle before us; until we merit through their power to nullify the klipah of Amalek — to blot out his name and memory from the world; and to nullify the blemish of the bris from us and from our offspring and from all Your people the House of Israel from now and forever. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem, my Rock and my Redeemer [ Psalms 19:15 ].
